52-03 Information from the General

In about ten minutes the lunch Jen ordered was carried.

"Yeah, yummy"

The porridge was very thin and salty, and the vegetable soup was full of various vegetables. The seafood salad is filled with seagrass and tuna-like fish, and the dressing tastes good.

"Here you go, it's a service for your guests"

By the end of the meal, tea (tee) was served. Again, I used some pretty good tea leaves and didn't complain about the aroma or flavor.

"Welcome"

Speaking to the young lady general (ok ok) who came to lower the dishes,

"Sir, are you a foreigner?

Asked.

When Jen asks me why I think so, it's unusual for people to ask for porridge, so let's just say it.

"I don't get much rice around here, but a long time ago, the lord's wife liked rice porridge, and porridge took root in the land."

"Heh..."

Jen became nostalgic when he remembered Beana, a former friend and a member of The Jen Family.

"Isn't that the guy who was said to be 'Craft Queen'?

and if you turn to the water,

"Yes, that's right!

And, happily, the young general affirms.

"About 400 years ago...... you were back when the current Lords proxy was Earl, and you said anything was out of the common people? The Count wanted me to be his wife."

"Heh..."

Jen finally knew, I wanted to say, but I've never heard of him before.

In order to elicit information, Old Master taught me beforehand that the trick is to disguise a wind that I know shallow but not deep.

When they think they know too little, they say it's easy to think, 'This guy pretends to be interested in the atmosphere of the place because you're not interested'.

People who show shallow knowledge and sympathize with what they're interested in will go a long way in sharing a lot of information when they guide them well.

The young general seemed to like the Kuzma family and told me a lot of things Jen didn't have to ask. I don't seem to have many customers and free time today.

"Thanks to that wife, she said this town has developed a lot.... Oh, yeah!

The young woman went to the kitchen and returned with something on a deep plate.

"Did you know this, too?

"Oh, that's popcorn"

"That's right! This is a very popular treat that his wife started selling when she was still a common citizen!

"Yes, you are."

Again, Jen knows this very well. In other words, it was Jen who taught Beana.

"In addition to Count Kuzma at the time, there was another Earl family, which managed the west and east of Blueland, respectively, but in that wife's time, the other Earl family was subordinated to the Viscount."

"Were you?"

I don't even know Jen about that, so I assume Jen was after he came this way.

"After that, for a while, the Count Kuzma family took control of the East and West of Blueland, but about 200 years ago, the Count made me a Marquis, and at the same time, he became a Blueland deputy."

"I've heard that. That's all they trust from the Duke's house, right?"

By understanding what you're talking about and striking an association that shows you're interested, the other person's mouth gets even lighter.

"Yeah, yeah, it is. Really, the Marquis Kuzma has taken care of this Blueland and its inhabitants for generations. Evidence suggests that taxes in this town are lower than in other cities."

The tax rate in the Kingdom of Egerea averages four dukes and six citizens, 40% of whom are taxed.

But here in Blueland, three dukes and seven citizens, so be it.

This is a result of much improvement. To the best of Jen's knowledge, 400 years ago, there were also countries and regions called Six and Seven and Three Citizens.

Incidentally, even in Japan, during the Edo period, the tax rate was seven dukes and three citizens, but in the Pacific world, it dropped to three dukes and seven citizens.

"Convenient magic equipment has spread, making life easier, and hey"

It was also "Craft Queen," Countess Beana Rauf Kuzma, who made the prototype, he said.

"But hey..."

Suddenly I lost my energy in the voice of the young general.

"What's wrong with you?

Jen asks,

"No, it looks like that Marquis Kuzma house is in a lot of trouble right now."

and the young general answered with a slightly spicy face.

"... I don't know if it's interesting for the customer to hear..."

Because I was accompanied by

"No, it's an interesting story."

and Jen replied.

"Let me hear it."

Yes, Jen said, the young woman began to speak slowly.

"It seems like it was about 150 years ago... why, the people in the main house have disappeared. So, the folks at the branch inherited the Marquis to this day..."

"Is something wrong?

Jen, who asks in vain.

"The Marquis is old today. I didn't quite bless your child, but I had no choice but to get a second lady, and if you think you're finally born, you're a princess. And then you two... that's also the princess."

"I mean, there are three princesses, right?

"That's what happens.... so you're still small, so you can't be a successor."

"I see."

The present Marquis is elderly, dead apart from the First Lady. The second lady, who gave birth to three daughters, is young there, but because of her low status, she says she cannot even succeed temporarily.

To be clear, she is a former samurai, and that certainly seemed to me that neither the royal family nor the Duke of Bleu would admit her succession as a guardian.

Plus, the princess above is only ten years old. He said that he would not succeed the Marquis no matter how much he tried to do because it was before he was an adult.

Jen and Reiko pulled up to the room once.

"... you've got a lot on your mind."

"Yes, Father."

"Right, Master (My Road)"

It is a tripartite meeting between you and the old man using the Magnetic Communicator (Manacam).

'In the present situation, is there about three options the Kuzma family can take'

One. Take the son-in-law who deserves to be his eldest daughter, and let him inherit the governor.

Two. Take a blood adult boy for adoption and let the housekeeper inherit.

Three. Until his eldest daughter grows up, he sets up a guardian and makes him succeed the housekeeper after adulthood.

"Hmm, don't"

Jen doesn't think there's anything else he can do.

"From the circumstances, I guess my son-in-law doesn't want to take it"

Jen thought your insight was probably a hit.

Because,

"Viscount Galana is planning to marry one of the princesses to satisfy the Marquis' guardian."

Because there was information from the young general that

The Galana family seems to be sneaky after 400 years.

"What I seem to be able to do... two and three, yeah"

If you're a blood-born adult boy, there are a lot of them on 'Onogoro Island', and some of them are likely to be guardians as well.

"My Lord, the problem is that they have no foundation in today's world."

"Oh, sure..."

I have nothing to prove I'm blood related. Because there is no such thing as DNA testing.

Not even a successor, not one who doesn't know where the horse bones are.

"Hmmm......"

Again Jen conceived.
