Magi Craft Meister
66-13 Ship rigging
Marcia opened her mouth after a sip of Kuhe prepared by Reiko.
"I'm talking about a ship that the Principality uses."
"Ship..."
Even the other day, Jen had just seen the ship on Lake Yato.
"Just a look, but a Duchy ship is old, isn't it?
"Well, yeah."
"It's a fishing boat, so I wish I could use a stable boat."
"Like a double-torso ship (catamaran)?
It is a hull that Marcia and Rodrigo specialize in.
"Yeah, right. And then we need to be able to get an outrigger out."
The outrigger is also referred to as' outboard floating material ', that is, a stabilizing member with a float attached to the tip of an arm tree that has been stretched out to the side.
"You can pull in when you sail and stick it out when you fish"
"Oh, I see."
"He's the type I've been considering with my dad lately."
"Nice, that.... when the time comes... no, will you be revealed first in 'Avalon' soon?
Jen was impressed with the idea, too.
"Um, the ocean? If the waves are rough, I'm worried about the strength of the armwood."
Marcia said it was only for the gentle waters of the waves.
"I feel like I can handle it with the material, though?
Jen also gives his opinion.
"Of course, that's one solution, but then there's the cost..."
"Oh well"
Unlike Penglai Island, the cost of materials is an important factor if it is normal.
Jen comes up with more ideas.
"Hmmm...... then why don't you make sure your arm tree deflects?
Jen said why don't you deflect without breaking it?
"Oh, I see..."
"Can I still play my role as an outrigger?
"Hmm, Marcia, it's worth studying."
Rodrigo, too, seemed to want to try that Jen idea.
"Ha, I knew it would be beneficial to talk about gin and making things!
Marcia is in a good mood.
There, Reinhardt also expressed his opinion.
"I guess there's a lot of flat-bottom ships in the lake, huh?
"That's what happens to small ships."
Jen answers.
"If you don't care about the speed of travel, don't think it's oval or long circle."
"Hmm, well, there's that direction, too."
Marcia sounds interesting, she nodded.
"So, to increase stability, increase the buoyancy of the edges."
The image is of a rubber boat in the world where Jen was, Reinhardt said.
"Um, sure, if we had more buoyancy around us, we'd have more stability...... how do we do that?
"I think we should use" Foam Magi Polyethylene ". It's shock absorbing."
"Foam Magi Polyethylene" is abbreviated as "EMPE". Pressure was applied to molten Magi polyethylene before decompression and foaming, a material developed jointly by Saki and Hannah.
"I see, that's funny. Not for big ships, though."
Jen also admired the idea and expressed his opinion.
"That's why they use it on flat-bottomed boats for fishing in lakes."
"Well, don't be. … but there was also a type of fishing boat for a few people."
Jen had remembered a fishing boat he had previously seen on Lake Yato.
"There's not going to be so much improvement on that hull. Wouldn't you rather need to improve the propulsion?
Marcia's opinion is the best.
"We use it in shallow water depths, so, you know, it's a nice wind floater system, right?
"Oh, how to unleash wind magic towards the sails"
Speaking of which, Jen remembered with nostalgia that such a method had been devised by the merchant of the Kingdom of Celluloa, Ekalt Tekles.
So, the method is not currently used. There's a reason for that, of course.
"It would be unsuitable for small to medium-sized ships..."
Jen says,
"I guess so"
Marcia laughed bitterly.
There is a breeze between the blower and the sail to send the wind from the blower toward the sail.
Large ships with high sail columns will not have to know, and in smaller ships, the crew will get windy. Same with medium-sized ships.
"That's hard..."
Reinhardt also put his arms together and thought about it.
And that's where the 'Grand Sage' contacted me.
"Dear Master (My Road), Dear Jen Family, We will be arriving in Ars shortly"
"Oh, it's that time already"
"It wouldn't have been long if we'd been talking."
Jens moved from the observation room to the bridge.
The giant Magic Projection Window (Magic Screen) on the bridge shows Ars in large measure.
'In three minutes, it's over the Principality. We are going to stop relative and start an underground scan'
"Yeah, that's fine"
Jen nodded in the report of "The Great Sage".
And it's not long after three minutes.
The western end of Lauren continent is visible.
"The altitude is 35,000 kilometers, almost the altitude of a geostationary satellite."
"All right, 'Ground Scanner' activated"
Preliminary exams are done on a monthly (unique) basis, so I was able to start them with confidence.
With about a minute of activation, the scan was complete.
"Please wait until data analysis"
"Okay, please"
Where it can't help but take a little while to process the scanned data.
Anyway, it's my first attempt.
Nevertheless, the analysis was completed in five minutes.
"The analysis is over. It will appear on the main monitor of the bridge. '
"Grand Sage" processed the ground-based data of the four principalities into a bird 's-eye view for display.
Because the display from directly above makes it difficult to see the structure in the ground that is layered.
"Oh, is this what it looks like"
"Wow, that's easy to understand."
The faces of Jen and the Jen family stared at the structure for a while and each thought about why this was happening.
