Chapter 273: Ch 273: Market Stroll
While something insane was happening in the city, Alexis had no idea about any of that. That was because he currently was in the eastern gate of the city and was having a conversation with a guard.
This gaurd was named Rick and he was one of the rare friend that Alexis had. So now that he was running away from his home, he wanted this friend of his to know about it.
Alexis did not trust at all that Rick would keep this conversion a secret. He was a troublesome friend who was madly in love with his sister.
So if she asked him any questions about him, he would not be able to hide it. So Alexis was actually using him as the means to let his family know that he was running away and was alright.
This was his plan and with how simple it was, he should have been done in a very short period of time. But Alexis was extremely unlucky and he suddenly found himself in the guard quarters getting interrogated.
Fortunately, it was nothing terrible like him being falsely accused of a crime or so. Instead he was just being asked some normal questions about his identity and such.
Alexis actually did not hide anything during the interrogation. For an adult man like him, running away from home was not a problem. Even among the gaurds here, there would definitely be severel people who had done the same thing as him.
As for the reason why this interrogation was happening, it was regarding a senior officer who had just been convicted for taking bribes and selling the weapons of the guards to bandits.
This senior officer was the direct superior of Rick. And as he had came to meet him at this unfortunate timing, Alexis was also suspected to he related to the senior officer and that was why he was being interrogated.
Fortunately for him, soon everything was cleared out especially when the guards found that he had came to this city just one day ago. After this, as an apology, they brought him to a good restaurant for a free meal.
So even though Alexis had to face some trouble, it was nothing compared to what the other two men had faced. And he even ended up getting a free meal from all this.
This way, Alexis actually ended up having a good day where he even managed to make friends with some of the gaurds.

As for what the two ladies were doing at this time, they were taking a stroll in the Market area. As this city was a business hub, the market here was extremely large and crowded.
They had all kinds of things and Weiss was very interested in them. She was using her powerful senses to check the price and compared that to the price of things in other cities and the Brightshine kingdom.
While Weiss was doing this serious thing, Elise was in complete tourist mode. She was just having fun walking side by side with her mistress.
Apep was also with them and was taking a look at everything while hiding in Weiss’s cleavage. She had been quite inactive lately and was having fun resting all day.
She had a hunting session not too long ago, so her desires were currently satisfied. But soon, she would like to do something for her mistress again.
As this market stroll was continuing, Weiss suddenly saw a shop selling various exotic beasts. All the beasts that they had were of high quality and were extremely expensive but the shop itself was a simple, half broken wooden cottage.
Among the beasts, there was something that attracted Apep’s attention. Sensing this, Weiss looked at what she said seeing. And the beast that Apep had taken an interest in turned out to be pure white mouses.
It was clear that the only reason why Apep was interested in them was because she wanted to eat these mouses. For her, they were not cute animal but tasty prey.
Still, Weiss was actually surprised by this turn of event. That was because as Apep was a powerful monster, she was mostly only interested in the meat of other monsters. So her showing interest to a regular animal as food was definitely something unusual.
So Weiss went to check the mouse out. After asking the shopkeeper about them, she were told that this mouse was one of the best selling animal of their shop.
There were young ladies and children who liked to keep them as pets and there were also various carnivorous animals like birds and snakes who were fond of this special breed of mouse as food.
The shopkeeper was a young man, so after seeing someone as beautiful as Weiss and Elise, he had became way to excited and had talked quite a lot. But Weiss did not mind that at all as all the information that he had provided were valuable.
After learning all this, Weiss’s researcher heart had became active. She really really wanted to know why this mouse was so attractive to the beasts. So she ended up buying 10 of them, both as snacks for Apep and as her research subjects.
After that, as both of them were eating some breads and sweets in a shop, they suddenly got the news that a powerful Knight was rampaging and destroying a trading company. From the description of the rampaging knight, both of the ladies were sure that it was definitely Evan.
Weiss immediately used her senses and found him in no time. After making sure that he was fine and did not need her or Elise’s help, Weiss relaxed and told Elise about what she had seen.
Elise also relaxed after learning this and continued to enjoy the sweets. With the strength of a peak level knight, there was not many situations where Evan would need help.
And among the men traveling with the ladies, Evan was the most experienced one and also quite intelligent. So both Weiss and Elise trusted him to finish whatever he had started perfectly, without any loose end.
So that was how the ladies spend their day. As for how the night was going to be, without a doubt it would be super naughty.
