Chapter 271: Ch 271: Angry Evan

After leaving the inn, Evan quickly went to the slum area. There he started to ask around for someone called Samual. In the process of doing so, he was attacked by a few thugs but after he beat them up a little, no one else came to disturb him.
After some trouble, he finally managed to find this Samual person. But when Evan saw this acquaintance of his, he was having a hard time recognising him.
Samual was an orphan who had grown up on the streets of this city. And one day, he was captured by Evan when trying to steal from a shop.
Samual was quite talented as a knight, so on a whim, Evan had given him a knight’s secret art to practice and had even given him some personalised training.
And the result of that had been incredible. Samual had grown and very soon, he had started a gang of his own in the slums of this city.
Even though Evan had trained him for a short period of time, he still considered him to be an apprentice of his. So that was why Evan was quite proud of him.
So after coming back to this city, he had expected Samual to be at least a high level knight apprentice by now. With his talent, that was definitely something possible.
But instead, what Evan saw was a man with one of his legs and one of his eyes gone. He had a wife and a small son who were living in a terribly poor condition.
Seeing this, the emotion that Evan felt was anger. No matter how Samual had turned out to be this way, there was no excuse for him to not inform him about the situation. As his master, Evan would have definitely lend him a hand no matter what.
So what did he not ask for him help ? Why was this stupid brat making his family to also suffer alongside him ? Evan wanted to know the answers to all this so first, he beat Samual up.
His wife and son were very scared about this extremely powerful person suddenly showing up and beating Samual. So they had immediately started to beg for forgiveness. But Evan did not pay them any mind.
And after a few minutes of continuous begging, the wife suddenly noticed that even after getting beaten up for so long, her husband did not really look injured. Instead, how he was trying to hold back his tears, it looked as if he was getting very emotional.
After about half and hour had passed, Evan finally calmed down and asked Samual for the story. Throughout this whole beating process, Evan had not inflicted even a single wound on him. But he had made Samual to feel so much pain that it was unbelievable.
So Samual was being extremely honest here. He was well aware of how scary his master was, so he did not try to hide anything.
It turned out that when Samual and his gang were doing extremely well just one year ago, suddenly a noble’s second son had tried to make a name of himself in the slums here for some bizzare reason. But obviously, Samual’s gang could not allow this to happen.
So they simply beat him up and send him away after insulting him a little. But the very next day, he got the news that this noble’s son had died and his gang was being blamed for this.
But obviously Samual had not done anything like that and there was no doubt that it was a plot from some enemy organization.
But the noble family related to this incident was extremely stubborn and did not listen to a single word of his. So they attacked his gang and even an official knight was with them.
So Samual was powerless. In front of a proper official knight, someone like him or even his whole gang were useless. That was how overwhelming the strength difference between the two sides was.
And the result of that attacked was his current condition. The only reason why he was not killed was because the noble family wanted him to suffer for a long time and live in disgrace.
As for why he had not informed his master about this, it was simply because of two reasons. Firstly, he was too ashamed of this turn of event and more importantly, he did not even have the money to sent a letter to Evan.
Hearing all of this, Evan felt depressed. But then he made up his mind. He was planning to make this apprentice of him to work for his goddess but now that did not look like a possibility. But still, as he was here now, how could he allow his apprentice to suffer anymore ?
Fortunately, he had a good relationship with the Blood Moon dark organization and they should be willing to take Samual and his family in. Evan would obviously pay for their basic needs and would not make them a burden for the organization.
So with that in mind, he picked Samual up. Then he asked his wife and son to follow him. The wife and the son now knew that this powerful person was something like a master for Samual, so they did not disobey his orders and did exactly that.

While taking the whole family toward the inn, Evan started to plan his day going forward. Now his plan had changed and revenge had been added to the menu.
So what was Evan going to do to the people responsible for the current terrible situation of his apprentice ?
