Maou no Hajimekata

Episode 12: Let's Get in Touch with the Residents of the Demon-1

"It's a bad habit to use too much magic when you force it, Ein"

"Calm down, calm down. Because I'm sure you can."

"Remind me of all the hard work I've done. Effort will not betray you."

"The most important thing for a magician, Ain't it?

Believe it. "

"Give yourself what you've been trying to do."

"Everything that kept me alive."

"Everyone surrounding you."

Believe me.

"Then..."

"You are."

"Me."

"Kill"

"Trust me."

"Even though."

"Glamorous things"

"Save it!

had a bulky upper body, and Oul felt pain in his forehead. Hahaha and I look to the side with my breath on my shoulder, Lil is squatting with her head down.

"... what are you doing"

"That's our dialogue!

Tears in his eyes, Lil yelled.

"I was just going to wake you up because something has already been done..."

"Were you?... Did you say something"

"Mmm... the..."

Oul asks as he wipes his sweat, Lil keeps saying.

"Clearly no"

"Raz, he said"

To Lil's answer, Oul sighed.... It was decades ago. He's still pulling those things together.

"Master's, it's his name.... I killed him."

Attempts to say like nothing were unsuccessful.

Lil pressed silently, not knowing what to give back, and an awkward silence engulfed the two of them.

"... uh, what is this?

Lil blatantly changed the subject, pointing to the wood-carved doll that was in Oulu's room. It's delicate to say golem, and it's only as big as an oul. Besides, she is dressed and even wears amber cuttlefish.

"Oh...... or that. Shapes."

"Catashiro?"

To Lil, who blinks at words he can't hear, he says, "Watch," and Oul puts his hands on the shapes. The wooden skin then becomes the colour of the reddish person's skin during viewing, obtaining a feeling of luminous skin.

A brilliance of eyes showing intelligence is also created in the face, where there were only general irregularities, and mouths and noses can be done. The doll quickly became an Oul-like person.

"I can't tell what this is at all!

Neither could Lil, who was watching in front of me, tell which was the real oul. It's hard to tell by the difference in the clothes you're wearing.

"Like before, I found it dangerous for me to go outside. So I made this."

"The principle is not very different than it is moving real flesh. The difference is, if you have to, you can throw it away and go back to your original flesh."

The two ouls talk to each other.

"Awesome, you mean this will do the job for the two Ouls?

To a purely admirable lil, the two ouls shake their heads sideways.

"I can move them both in front of me, but I can't think for two or use magic. It's for reconnaissance only. If you leave, your body won't be able to move."

"Heh... it is"

Lil shrugged a little unfortunately as he carelessly touched the Oul of the Shapeshifter.

"What more could I have done to come all this way to wake you up?

"Oh, I was"

In Oul's words Lil remembered his original purpose and told him:

"Something's going on."

There are several entrances to the labyrinth of Oul. About a third of them are 'vertical holes' directly down to the second tier, while the rest are the entrances down to the first tier.

Of which, at the entrance closest to the people, it was done.

"What is this..."

Oul accidentally put his hand on his forehead and squealed. In front of him is a simple gate made of wood. Instead of having a door and no lookout so anyone could pass by, there was a big sign on it. It says this in big letters there.

"Welcome to Oultown!

"Well, it's more of a village than a town."

"That's not the problem"

Covering horns and wings with robes and hats, Oul told Lil, who pretended to be a human, to groan.

"When did this happen?"

"Yeah, it wasn't long ago. Lately."

It was the voice of a young man, not a lil, who answered Oulu's whine.

"Welcome to 'City of the Demon King' Ourtown. You're welcome, you two. From what I've seen, are you two magicians together? That's a rare combination."

The brown-haired man said so as he approached with a people-loving grin. Probably an adventurer because of his physical appearance, which is also called a bandit. He wears leather armor and has a dagger on his hips.

"What are you?

Oul asked, staring at the frigid man to see.

"Whoa, this guy is rude. I'm Keith, and I'm giving a little guidance to people like you who are new to this town. Whatever, Demon King's knee. It's a messy place, isn't it? Even here, I know my face just a little. I'll make it cheaper."

Oul and Lil looked at each other. I don't think I can trust you, but I'm not even that bad of a person to deceive the Ouls and strip them of their clothes, etc. That's what Oul decided.

"Fine. Regards."

When Oul took a piece of silver out of his nose, he played it with his pins and fingers. Draw a parabola and fly it, Keith cleverly catches it with one hand and whistles.

"Silver coins. That's generous. Mind if I ask your name?

"I'm Theo. This is Raz."

Oul named his pseudonym. There was no precipitation in that tone, so much so that Lil didn't even realize for a moment that he had lied, but Oul was pounding his inner tongue. I had about my pseudonym ready, but I didn't even think about it until Lil's minute, and it was the name that came up.

"Ok, Raz to Theo. Then I'll show you. Follow me."

Keith says in a nostalgic manner, diving through the gate into the town.

"Hey, what's a raz..."

"It's your name. Don't give me the balls."

Asking Lil in a whisper, Oul made it clear to avoid pursuing any further. Lil perceives it and shuts his mouth.

Master who says Oul killed him. Someone with a name on their face. What kind of person is that and what kind of opponent was it to Oul?

With that in mind, Lil chased Keith's back.

"This city is a little different than a normal city. There's not a single private house."

That's what Keith explained as he walked down the boulevard.

"There are not so many settled humans. Well, what, 2,30 people? Most of them are merchants, doing some sort of business with adventurers. This city is for adventurers who challenge the demon king's cave."

All those who go their way are armed adventurers. In the meantime, the Ouls, who were obviously not traveling costumes, were a little floating, although they wore robes for once and were naturally magicians.

"A big building near the entrance is inn. It's a merciful old Martha's shop that rents out a horse cabin for free to a guy without money. Across the street is the Ox tavern. Best drink I've ever had. It's a delightful place for all of us. If you want company, you should take a peek. Meshi's either here or in the stall."

"Horsehouse?"

As Lil repeated, Keith shrugged his shoulder.

"Oh, a merchant caravan comes in to buy food or something, but once a week. Other than that, few people are adventurous and have horses. That's why the assholes and the poor are sleeping in the straw of the empty stable."

His health hardly recovers, but raindrops will rise for now, Keith says.

"Next to the inn, that's a whorehouse. It's a little priceless, but it's the only entertainment in the city.... I don't know if I need you."

Keith looked sideways at Lil's, the rich double hills that pushed the robe up from the bottom and gave him a humble grin.

"That street is lined up with weapons and armor stores, and blacksmiths. A little blade spill or an easy fix will do it at the blacksmith. If it's completely broken, you're a weapons dealer or a protective equipment dealer."

"Can't you make me something bespoke?

To Oulu's inquiry, Keith raised an eyebrow.

"Right now, Toko, you didn't do that. I just can't keep up with the repairs. Theo, you sound like a magician, but you use a sword too?

"No, that's not it"

Lil laughed at Oulu, who had no heart or brightened his expression. He compares this city to his own labyrinth. The Dwergs, who work in the Labyrinth of Oulu, make bespoke weapons.

"Hmm? Well no. On the other side of the street, there's a church for magicians. When witchcraft enters the magician, the injured and the dead go to the church."

"Is there anything that can use resuscitation magic?"

Oul said in surprise. Resurrection of the dead is not impossible. but very advanced sorcery.

"Uh, I'm not familiar with it because I can't use magic either, but anything here is so magical - it seems that big magic is easy to use because it's intense. The story is that if it takes a few monks to perform the ritual, they can also resuscitate the dead enough to have their hearts pounded. Of course I can't do it if I mess it up more, and it's expensive to tease. Besides, if you fail, you have to return the money."

I see, and Oul is convinced. Apparently, the magic is leaking somewhat outside the labyrinth.

"What's a magician?

I don't really understand the concept of selling magic to Lil.

"Hmm, you've never used it because you're a magician? Put a blessing curse on your sword, sell a curse with simple witchcraft... well, where an adventurer like me can take care of you"

Keith proceeded to the back of the boulevard, pointing to the large building ahead.

"That's the Norm department store. This city is tight."
