Maou no Hajimekata

Episode 17: Get Ready to Fight Back-3

It resembled a stone well.

Assemble it to cover a robust stone base in a hole worn deep and deep into the earth.

The difference with the well is that there is no water source at its bottom.

And it was that the surroundings were filled with water.

It is a hole that penetrates an artificial pond of five miles (about eight kilometers) in all directions, a pond set in its center.

"... what is that?

Xana frowned as she looked down at it, lit by the moonlight.

The time is after midnight. That grumpy look is also inexorable because it was such an unknown pond well that I was woken up and shown sleeping.

"Behold"

Oul raises his arm and flies his magic into the sky. The amber light drew a line into the void, drawing a complex circle between looking at it. It amplified the light of the moon pouring from the sky to reflect heavily the round moon on the pond.

"... what do you say this is?

Zana accidentally falls in love with that beautiful sight, but only in Oulu, she rethinks that there's no way she's going to love the moon and dictate a woman.

"Yum. Yum."

When Oul held Zana's body without explanation, he flew through the universe and into the well.

"Hey, what!? What is it?

As he stands down to the bottom of the well, he leaps toward the ground again.

"What the hell......"

Zana flashed in an attempt to complain.

To have no voice at all out of my mouth. And to the fact that outside the well the pond was supposed to have spread into a desolate, bright white plain.

"What's this! What do you mean!?

Zana pulls Oulu's hem as she still desperately stretches her voices out.

So he noticed Zana and touched his throat trying to answer something.

I see.

I wonder if Oul's lips have moved that way, and his fingertips draw a curse in the void.

"What the hell is this place?!

As soon as possible, a voice popped out of the back of Zana's throat as usual.

"Don't you see?

Try to be an oul that looks around you, and Zana circles her gaze around.

Nothing, it was a murderous landscape. It should have been night, but the surroundings are filled with dazzling light, and its white earth can be foreseen endlessly. Even though I say so, how odd is the black sky.

From what I can see, it's all covered in white stone, and instead of a pond, no grass or trees grow. It's a barren wilderness that lasts.

"No way...... the demon world?

That was a terrible resemblance to the dwellings of the demons I was hearing from Lil.

"You just said it wasn't far away without hitting it."

Oulu tells Xanah, who frowns at the sight of the raw breath without even a trace of dust.

"This is the moon."

"... what?

To an answer I never thought I would, Zana returned the loose voice between them.

"He wore a hole in the moonshadow floating in the pond and used Misha's power to erase the border between the shadow and the entity. And now it's coming out of the physical side."

The moon is filled with unseen and untouchable water. Therefore, the body is light, the breath is constant and cold enough to freeze.

Breathing and temperature were controlled by witchcraft, but I didn't care until I stopped speaking, Oul said.

"But... what are you doing here?"

"Let it be decided"

Oulu naturally said away to Zana, who told her to snap half as she had a bad feeling.

"To meet Marina, the goddess of the moon to whom you give your faith."

"Ah... you're willing to do something that's not even Loc!?

"Well. That depends there."

Oul puts his gaze around and finds it. A small light drew its tail and ran over the white wilderness.

"Apparently, you're welcome.... Let's go."

About a quarter of an hour of walking along the lines of light. In the midst of pure white wilderness, it was.

It was a beautiful castle, not resembling a murderous landscape anywhere.

"Something... that doesn't look like my castle?

"Rather than, perhaps I should say that your castle resembles this"

The difference is that there is no moat surrounding the castle.

"Hey, is this okay to go in on your own?

"I have a guide in the light. Let's not be on our own."

Oulu creeps down the gate with Zana looking around her ass, worried about her surroundings.

"Welcome aboard,"

Large hall just moments after entering. Xana was breathtaking at the appearance of the goddess who welcomed her there.

Sleek, long, dazzling golden thread-like hair that drips off the floor. A woman dressed in a luminous, yet modest, moonlighted, white, relaxed costume and surrounded by a quiet brilliance.

That was exactly what Zana kept portraying as an ideal and a goddess.

... just one point.

Without any feminine swelling, except for a chest like a wall.

"I see it as the goddess Marina. My name is Oul. It's called the Demon King."

"Yeah. You've never seen me like this, Demon King Oul.... I never thought I'd get this far."

Though he answers peacefully, a wand representing the moon is born in Marina's hands. Moments later, Zana realized Oulu's defeat.

Whatever ploy he worked out and had the strength to fight, he was no match for Marina. The divine authority of the goddess in front of us is not even comparable to Sakya, the mighty volcanic god, or the tatsuki that unites the vast ocean. That's what I found out by the pressure I felt on my skin.

Marina just got the wand in her hand and hasn't even shown her otherwise aggressive posture. Even so, the pressure about to be crushed breaks Zana's knee. She was half unconscious, kneeling to pray.

"Well... your hands are known. deceive, deceive, offend, cage… I don't know what measures I've prepared."

The powers lent by the goddess Marina to Zana can naturally be used by herself. i.e. the power to find the best hand for every situation. It is a power that spins the thread of destiny and guides victory.

That does not foresee the ploy Oulu has been working on. But it was the ability to crush and deactivate unexpectedly.

Had it been Zana dealing with it, there would still have been winning eyes. There is a limit to what a person can do, and there is also the disadvantage that the best of what Zana thinks is different from the best of what Marina thinks.

But if Marina herself wields that power, all those weaknesses can disappear. As long as the great goddess deals with it, its power is invincible.

"Or... when you were a goddess, did you think that you could just ambush and mausoleum? As I have done to many women. If that's the case..."

Marina's release pressure increased. As it is pushed by it, Oul's knee breaks.

"It's called a mistake."

Gentle tone. But the hostility and hatred engulfed there gave Zana an immeasurable peek into depth.

"Goddess, it's Marina..."

Oul lays his hands on the floor to withstand the pressure.

And he looked up and glanced at Marina and laughed niggardly - Zana expected so. But it wasn't. Oul drowned his head as if he were succumbing to pressure.

"Stay down, I'll ask for help. Please, help me."

But it wasn't the same. Owl had withstood the pressure of divine authority and, with his own will, bowed his head. Marina, the goddess of servitude, also opens her eyes to this.

That's not how you can look up without bending your knees in the pressure of the goddess who presides over a giant object called the Moon. But... it wasn't the ratio that kept my head down on my own. Because it has to be lowered while withstanding the force of being crushed to the floor.

"No way...... have you come this far without any measures or conspiracy?

The goddess Marina blinks those eyes and asks them with a voice that she just says is incredible.

"You, the Demon King, just to bow your head to me?

"Yes."

Marina has no power to judge whether that Oul's words are true or false. But if the word were to lead her to ruin, the hotline emanating from the wand should now be burning down Oul's body from soul to soul on this occasion.

"My daughter was captured. We don't have enough strength to help with this. Then what would you hesitate to lower this head?"

Oul stretches his knee and stands up. If he stood up against divine authority, there should have been pain running like a bone pulling a thousand pieces of meat on the pressure. That's not physical weight. It is a pressure that crushes the soul, feeling equal to any unrivaled power.

It is also not the power of the flesh that is causing the oul to stand. It is the power of the will, of the spirit.

"Layer it up, please. This is it."

And incredibly. With his upright posture, Oul let him bow his head.

To a person bowing his head, the goddess Marina haunts his head wondering what is wrong with her.

No matter how much my beloved son, the asylum-seeker who deposited Zana, it was because there was no other suitable opponent and no other way, but because of the unstoppable circumstances. Nothing, I don't like or expect an oul.

If it was an abdominal desire to use oneself lightly... not to mention to conquer and dominate like a volcanic goddess, I was going to kill him after inflicting the utmost suffering and humiliation.

But what should I do if I've honestly asked for help from the front?

At times like this, I can't use her powers. Because you have to decide what's best for you first. I mean, do you lend a hand to Oulu, or do you abandon him? Because with that one heart, what's best will change.

"... fine. But that doesn't mean we'll allow it unconditionally."

In such cases, there is one decision in the gods.

"If you bring me what I say now, I will help you."

It is a decision to give man a test.
