Marquis' Express Butler

185. Silver Shire (1)

It was all black space. A sudden flash of bright light pours into the place where even a little light is not allowed.

The door is open.

Opening the door was a woman wearing a black robe. And there was a man sitting where the light had fallen through the door.

The two of them had something in common. Wearing a black robe, pressing the hood so deep that you can't even see it.

The woman bowed.

“Black. We have reports that one of the targets is approaching Silver Shire. ”

The woman reports in a dry tone, but the man called Black has not even bothered to look. He only looked at the documents on the table.

Surprisingly, the file contained information about Dylan.

It also revealed that he was acting as a dual identity. There is a tremendous amount of information that cannot be contained on one or two pages.

Information was not the only thing.

Thereafter, information about Confucius Hamel, who had recently become close to succession, was also included on another page with information about Sapiella's beloved.

These three were the targets that the woman mentioned.

A moment later, Black's mouth opens.

“You're faster than I thought. ”

Black pushes Dylan's information into his hands. Then he took out a cigarette and lit a fire.

“Did you check the trail we left behind? ”

“Yes, the target saw the footprint and immediately turned to Silvershire. ”

“It's flowing as expected. Anything else?”

“There must have been a little commotion in the woods. There was a fight with the Red Velvet. ”

Whew. Black bites dry with a gust of smoke.

“Damage?”

“Not at all. The Redvelvet were devastated. I think you're better than we judge. Besides...... there was one thing we didn't have in our information. ”

“What?”

“Dylan used a strange weapon. ”

Black, who removed the pile of tobacco ash, once again bites his mouth. Black waits for the woman's words, and the woman carefully reports back.

“Looks like some kind of sling, but it's a weapon that shoots bullets. I think I'm using an error to get it to work. The power itself was not strong, but it seemed like a good weapon to ambush. ”

“The more I lay low, the more new I get. This is going to be good loot. Be sure to bring it.”

“I see. And the number of the three at the beginning, which was supposed to be four, increased to four. ”

“Who joined you? ”

“He's a man named Chris, and he's close to the target. We don't have any more information so we're working on it quickly. ”

“A pile.”

Black rubs his thumb against his thumb. It was almost the only habit he had when he thought about it. His expression felt nothing like a dead man.

So I was scared, and that was why I was named Black.

“Keep your eyes open until you get the right information. ”

“I understand.”

“This is the chance of a genius. If we miss this opportunity, we won't be able to appease the noble guests in the royal province. There should not be two failures. That's what we're good at. ”

“I'll keep that in mind, Black. ”

This was the moment when the Black Assassins who attacked Dylan in the royal province were exposed. They were members of the organization that used error as a free material.

These were the assassins who were rumored to be dense and impenetrable.

They're after Dylan and the Adeline Factors.

When attempting assassination in the royal family, I was able to get a lot of information about Dylan, but I failed. There were no survivors.

The Royal Guard couldn't help but intervene there.

So I felt worse.

They're literally dead dogs.

I was curious that none of his men had made it back, but now I feel the fog slowly lifting.

There's only one conclusion he made.

“I was hiding my powers. He's cunning.”

Black, who smoked deeply, threw the cigarette into the ashtray before speaking.

“Have you heard from Red and Blue? ”

“Yes, I'm getting word that we're in position. ”

This was the headquarters, and Red and Blue each led an ambush with elite troops.

“The blood of Adeline? ”

“We're not leaving the royal district yet. ”

“Tell him not to be careless. They're stronger than they look. If you're careless about being young, your throat will snap. No harm will come to our honor. ”

The woman bows her head, expressing her absolute submission. You head to the piece of paper with Dylan's information on the desk with black cloudy eyes.

I read the information countless times before the woman came in and reported it.

But there was one part that I didn't understand.

“He was born in an ordinary rural village...... Where did he suddenly get this power? Why? Why? ”

The woman couldn't answer a single word that flowed out like a monologue. All I have to do is bow my head and wait for Black's thoughts to end.

* * *

“That's Silvershire. ”

Looking at where Chris pointed with his finger, the top of the building looks a little dim. The roof is shining in silver. So his name is Silvershire.

The town's landscape begins to get caught in sight as it runs a little longer.

One by one, the torch is rising. It wasn't dark yet, but it seemed like I was preparing for the night ahead.

“It's not that small. ”

“Most towns near the king are large. There's a lot of people coming and going. ”

“Let's hurry.”

But I couldn't hurry.

It's because Eluna, who was running ahead, stopped talking. She uses her keen vision to track the footsteps of the alleged enemies.

“What's going on? ”

“The trail went cold. ”

“What?"

Suddenly the trail disappears from this vast field. What do you mean, they ran well and suddenly jumped into the sky or fell to the ground?

Chris looks closely at the disappearing part of the horse.

“I wiped it clean. ”

“Is that possible? ”

“Enough. There weren't many footprints in the first place. They must have come all the way here to control their tracks. And wiped it clean. ”

I looked around. Even Silvershire is quick, but the fact that he erased the trail around here felt intense.

I mean, Chris didn't look so good.

“I feel like it's luring us. ”

“A lure or whatever, that's where you have to come. Tiny little bastards. If you're going to lure me, I'll leave a trail to the lair. ”

“There's a good chance there's a hideout near Silvershire. Let's stay here and search. ”

We move our horses back to Silvershire. Chris suddenly asked me on the way.

“Do you have a plan? ”

I said what I had in mind.

“The only way to save time is to gather the enemies. It's not a fake I.D., it's a real I.D. I need to know we're here. ”

“If they're that good at hiding, they'll already know we're here. ”

“Let's go inside and talk about the details. Take a break. When you meet an enemy when you're tired, there's no answer, is there? ”

Chris didn't make much of a move. It means following my opinions.

Once inside the village, we tied the horse to the inn and booked the room.

I had plenty of money, but only one room was available. There is no need to distribute power at all. We're probably gonna have to go to sleep anyway.

We set aside a stubborn table and sat together in a circle.

“Which one of us is the most dangerous? The one who got on top of the enemy's targets. ”

Everyone's sad gaze turned to me.

Yeah, that's the answer I was expecting.

I admitted it cool and kept talking.

“That's why I'm going to be bait. Silvershire's night market is famous, so when the sun goes down we'll go out and lure those who follow us. ”

“Wouldn't that be a little dangerous? ”

“It could be dangerous. But on the contrary, they won't be able to attack us easily. If we get the beacon, we'll be delayed or the perimeter will be reinforced. ”

“Does that mean...... that their ultimate goal is the Adeline people? ”

“Of course. If you weigh me and the Adelines, you'll find out which is heavier. Even if I die, it won't be an excuse for war. At least one member of my immediate family should be strangled. ”

Everyone nods. However, Eluna's worrying face never fades. I can't help it. It's only natural that big things come with risks.

“I'm sure the enemy has information that the Starfleet is moving, but they won't be able to see the basics moving any later. In that situation, our job is clear. Finding the head behind the back as soon as possible and cutting it off. I think we need to find the tail first. ”

When I finished speaking, I got up from my seat. Eluna, Arthurs and Chris stood up, too.

“Wouldn't it be better to escort them from afar? ”

I pondered Eluna's offer for a moment.

There may be extraordinary talents out there that I did not expect. I may not be able to solve this on my own, or I may get hurt.

“I'd appreciate it, but I won't force you. ”

I pulled the Mana pistol from my waist.

“Remember that flare I used to shoot? If I'm in danger, I'll shoot you out of the sky, so you can come that way. ”

“I won't miss out on the view I can. ”

“If it were as easy as it sounds, I wouldn't say it. ”

I took a bunch of magazines out of my bag and put them on my waist. I checked the other equipment and there was nothing wrong. Now it's time to pick up the next batch.

I told Chris.

“You have the orb I gave you before, right? Let me borrow it for a second. ”

Chris pulls out a ball of punch. It was the bead that was handed over as a sample in place of the crystal sphere when he was used at the mystery meeting.

I raised Mana, and there was a spark on the marble.

My colleagues questioned me, wondering if it was strange to look down at the sliding bead. However, it is hypothetical and must be proven experimentally.

Heave-ho!

With my pistol loaded, I hit the proper amount of Mana, turned on the penetration option, and shot one foot toward the bed.

Puck!

The bullet pierces through the bed to make it look good.

You retrieve the gun and inject Mana into the bead you were holding. A random spark points in one direction.

That was the direction the bullet went through the bed.

“It works?”

I've moved left and right. The spark of the bead has served as a compass.

Other colleagues only tilted their heads, but Chris was different. His eyes sparkle with an accurate analysis of the situation.

“Is this a unique Mana tracker? ”

Chris was so surprised that he spilled the word 'Mana' out of his mouth. I noticed. Fortunately, Arthurs is completely unresponsive.

“Sort of. On the way over, I thought I'd track them down if I could just put a bullet in them." So I just tried it. ”

“ ……. ”

Chris couldn't connect the words.

That alone allowed me to see the application level of my experiments. I also knew how special I was.

But now is not the time to talk like that.

“I'll leave you to it, then. ”

I left the inn. I walked naturally to the open night market.

I stopped caring at all about my colleagues following me. We have to be as sloppy as possible before they get any closer and catch up.

Hopefully we can draw them out and put a bullet in their arm or leg.

“But we have to try. ”

I threw myself into the crowd.
