Dron’s eyes scanned every last inch of the rocky topography.

As the night began to fall, Krex and Kraznek both had to all but demand that they stop and find shelter. Dron didn’t want to stop, but he also couldn’t risk not being able to see what was right in front of him either.

There was a greater chance that he or someone else from the group at his back would fall into one of the so called crevices that surrounded them.

Krex hadn’t been lying when he explained that the crevices would be nearly invisible thanks to the ground around them. Several times Dron had almost fallen into one, only saved by the fact that they were so close to the cliff face.

In order to get around the crevices and deep ditches, the entire party had to climb up portions of the cliff and scale across. It made the journey even slower.

Thankfully, there was a small opening in one of the rocks, and that is where they would stay the night.

The sun couldn’t come up fast enough for Dron. He wanted to be on his way. Wanted to get closer to Tempest.

He looked over his shoulder and saw that everyone was already hunkering down. It wouldn’t be the most comfortable sleep in the tight space, but it was the best that they could hope for.

Dron took a breath and looked up at the sky, he couldn’t see the stars yet, but he knew they were up there. It was a given, just like he knew his connection to Tempest would stay strong until he could find his way to her.

She would be there for him. Dron put all the hope he could.

Instead of wishing that she would be there for him, he sent up a silent wish that she was being safe.

He wondered where she was and quickly activated his wrist device.

He scrolled over to the locator portion and realized that her dot had stopped moving. She probably was doing the same thing he was doing. He took comfort in knowing that she was at least still properly caring for her needs.

The last few times he’d tried to reach out to her, the signal wasn’t strong enough. Either on his part or hers.

He could try again. What would it hurt?

He sighed and pressed the indicator to connect with her device.

His heart stopped for a second and then restarted at a monstrous pace. It was buzzing, but it didn’t immediately tell him that the recipient couldn’t be reached.

He waited, holding his breath, and then he nearly collapsed in joy when the screen told him he was being connected.

"Dron! Dron! Can you hear me? Tempest’s voice rushed out, and Dron had to take a moment to calm himself.

"I can. Tempest, I hear you. Oh, it’s so good to hear your voice."

Tempest’s voice cracked as she began speaking again, "You too. I miss you so much."

"I miss you too. I’m on my way to you."

"I know. I can feel you getting closer."

Dron closed his eyes and tried to reach out to her as if his spirit could somehow sense her. The sick feeling that he had when he was too far away from her was still there, but it wasn’t as bad as it had been. His alpha instincts must know that he’s on. His way to her.

They must know that she’s getting closer.

"Where are you? You’re not in the stronghold anymore. I couldn’t reach out to you. The signal isn’t good here."

"I know, I’m just doing a little side quest. I’ll be back in the stronghold by the time you get there." Tempest spoke, and he could hear the smile on her voice.

"Side quest? Only you would try to fit in a side quest now."

She chuckled, "I couldn’t just sit there and wait. I’d have gone crazy and then probably would have convinced myself to try and meet you halfway. I’m not sure you would appreciate that."

Dron shuddered at the thought. He most certainly wouldn’t have appreciated that in the least. There were just too many things that could go wrong in the wide expanse.

"Are you being safe?" Dron questioned.

"Yes, I’m with Gerax and Rynax and also another soldier."

Dron growled softly. She was with yet another alpha.

"Who is this other soldier?"

"His name is Aliq. He’s been leading us safely. He’s very knowledgeable."

"I’m not really thinking about how much he knows right now." Dron tried his best to keep the anger out of his voice, but there was no disguising it.

"Dron, you have to trust me."

"I do trust you. I don’t trust them."

She chuckled lightly as if this were all a game. Dron was as serious as he’d ever been. "Good, I trust them. If I thought for even a second that Aliq wasn’t honorable, I’d never have allowed him to come with us."

Dron went silent for a second. "You’re going to the human settlement, aren’t you?"

Then it was Tempest’s turn to go silent.

"My temptation, according to the scouts I’m with that’s the only thing in the direction you are going."

"I didn’t want you to be mad, but I have to go, Dron. I just have to see it with my own eyes."

Dron wanted to argue. Wanted to tell her that it was foolish, but all Tempest had talked about since she’s been on the planet was how she didn’t belong and how she wanted to go home. Maybe if she saw with her own eyes there were more of her kind, she wouldn’t be so against staying.

Dron didn’t want to put too much faith into that, especially when there was also a chance that she would want to stay here on Skoq with the people that she found.

It was all just so risky as far as Dron was concerned. Still, he had to trust her just like he’d just told her he did.

"Maybe it would be better if I just met you there? We could see it together." Dron tossed out.

"No!" Tempest quickly answered. Dron was a little taken aback by how quickly she denied his idea. "That wouldn’t be good."

"Why not?" Dron bristled.

"Because... Just I don’t want whoever is at this settlement to think that we are trying to invade their territory or anything. I want them to feel safe. You’ve got people with you. I already have people with me. The less of an intrusion, the better."

It made sense, but it also made Dron feel uneasy. There was more that she wasn’t telling him.

"If you think that’s best. I’ll stay on track to get to the stronghold. You better be there, or intrusion or not, I’m coming to find you."

Tempest chuckled again. "I know it and I can’t wait."

"Impatient are we?" Dron asked.

"Impatient is the word I’d use. I’d say more like desperate." Tempest’s voice lowered to a near whisper.

Desperate.

Dron groaned softly before he looked over his shoulder. He was far enough away that he was sure no one who wasn’t actively listening to him could hear his conversation, but he took a step further just for good measure.

"As I am for you, my temptation." Dron replied, closing his eyes, wishing that she could be right there talking with him instead of over the communication device.

"Really? What are you desperate for?" Tempest’s voice was softer still.

"I’m desperate to feel you in my arms. To kiss your lips." Dron spoke smoothly, but inside his body was anything but smooth. He was on edge. A tightness formed at the base of his stomach, and he realized that he was growing harder and harder the longer he talked to Tempest.

"Will you be gentle with me? Or will you be rough?" Tempest panted through the line. She was getting just as worked up as Dron was.

"I don’t think I’ll be able to be as gentle as I want to be with you, Tempest. It’s been too long. We’ve been too far apart. I feel like I’m going crazy with out you. Like I’m addicted to you, and I’ve been in some sort of withdrawal. I need you."

"Oh Dron I need you too. Now. Just hearing your voice is...doing things."

"Doing things like what? Tell me, Tempest. Tell me what I’m doing to you."

"I’m so wet. I’m trying to keep my legs closed so I don’t make a mess." She sighed through the connection.

"Moon goddess above. You’re torturing me. You know how much I love tasting you. Drinking you in. I’d bury my face in your tight slit until you were too spent to move. Make you weak from all the orgasms. Let you mark every last part of my body with your essence."

Dron dashed off around the corner, where he was more hidden from the group behind a bunch of boulders. The pressure in his stomach and primary cock was becoming more intense. Too intense.

"I’d try to get away. Push you away just when it was getting to be too much."

"You would, but you’d give me more. You always give me more."

Tempest’s voice hitched, "What would happen next? What would you do to me after you had me all to yourself?"

"I’d lay you down and kiss every last inch of your skin, try to draw it out as much as I could. I wouldn’t last long. I’m not strong enough."

"Good. I don’t want to wait." Tempest murmured. He could hear her moving around, but he didn’t know what she was doing.

"Then I’d use my fingers first to spread you open. Make your body remember me. Stretch for me."

"As if my body could forget. I’d take you in. All of you. Deep, just how I like it."

Dron’s chest rumbled with a deeper growl. His entire body tingled as if he had too much energy inside of him.

There was something inside him pent up, and though he knew it was no use, he reached into his pants and grabbed hold of his primary shaft. He moved his hand quickly. Jerking up and down, desperate for some relief. Just a little release.

"You’d scream my name. Beg me to make let you come. You’d whimper and cry. I’d revel in every sound. I can almost hear it now."

"Yes. Yesss." Tempest hissed, and instantly Dron had thoughts of her playing with herself the same as he was to himself.

"You touching yourself, Temptation?"

"I’m sorry. I tried to wait for you. I need you so bad. To fill me up with your seed. To mate with me. Claim me as yours once again. I need you." She whined, and Dron swore he could hear her in his mind.

It was his fantasies coming to life.

"I’ll be to you soon. You won’t have to wait for me any longer.

Dron could hear in her voice that she was getting closer to her release. As much as he wanted his own release, he would be even happier to hear her do it for him.

He pumped his hand harder and harder. His cock felt as if it were about to explode. His muscles tensed, and he could feel himself right on the edge. All he needed was a little more.

He groaned loud when he felt the urge receeding.

It wasn’t that he needed a little more; he needed Tempest.

"Dron, I’m close...oh god... I’m so...." Her breath hitched, and she hummed her release, obviously trying not to be too loud. She must be hiding just as he was.

"That’s my girl. Soaking wet for me. Next time we won’t let any of that go to waste." Dron strained and slowly moved his hand away from inside his pants. He knew there was no use. This would just have to do for now.

This was as good as he was going to get.

He did feel more at ease even though he wasn’t able to reach completion like his mate.

"I have to get back. They’re going to start looking for me."

"Okay, be safe. I love you. Get some rest." Dron said, but even as the words left his mouth, another new fear started to take hold inside of him.

A moment later, Tempest whispered her love to him before she disconnected the call while Dron was spiraling on all the ways that this was about to go wrong.

His love had just shared a perfectly natural and private moment with him over the communicator. She was more than likely in a post-orgasmic, blissed out state. She wouldn’t remember.

Dron was sure she wouldn’t remember the dangers that could come from that.

Tempest wasn’t home in her bed waiting for him to come to her, she was out in the wilderness.

Now she was out in the wilderness covered in her slick and surrounded by alphas who weren’t her mate.

A wilderness that didn’t have much decorum or law.

They would smell it on her, and they would be nearly compelled to take her.

By giving in to their baser needs, Dron might have just painted a brand new target on Tempest’s back.
