Things went from absolutely insane to calm in the shortest time.

Tempest didn’t know if she should still be worried about the people around her and she was still thinking about the man that she put on his ass. She’d worry about it more when he got up. Hopefully he wouldn’t be too upset that he was beat up by a girl.

On Earth, that was a big issue.

"Mexyn, are we safe?" Gerax was the one to ask. He took a step toward her and Crilium.

"Yes, everything is fine. It’s been a big misunderstanding." Mexyn shrugged her shoulders but she didn’t take her eyes off the man standing in front of her. It was clear that she only had eyes for Crilium.

"Is it? I’m not so sure." One of the other alphas spoke out. He was one of the men who were just trying to kill Tempest and the others.

Crilium turned his head. "These people aren’t the enemy."

"How can you be sure of that. Just because you’re omega comes back doesn’t mean there isn’t any danger. What are these people doing here? How do you know they didn’t come here to spy." The man asked.

It was a valid question. We just showed up on their land walking around without a care in the world. It makes sense for them to question what we are doing here.

Tempest took a step forward, she wanted to make sure that no one had any misconceptions. There was no way that she could ever do the dirty work of the high royals.

"We aren’t here to spy. We are here to find someone. Maybe you can help us with that?"

"Who are you looking for?" Crilium turned to look at Mexyn again. There was a look of confusion on his face.

It was quite possible that he believed the reason Mexyn was there was for him.

Part of Tempest wondered if Mexyn took them on a longer than need be route just so she could bump into him but that wouldn’t make sense. How would she know where he was? Unless she’d communicated with him before hand.

Tempest didn’t want to think Mexyn would do something like that. She just wanted to be happy that Mexyn found her person.

"We’re looking for Tempest’s mate. He was sent here on a mission from the high royals but the distance is proving too much for her." Mexyn folded her hands in front of herself.

There were a few murmurs in the crowd.

"You came all the way over here just for her mate?"

Gerax was the one to speak up this time. "Not just her mate but her fated mate. The moon goddess has blessed them both."

The expression on their faces changed to that of wonder. Tempest was still amazed that everyone seemed to be captured by the fact that she seemed to have found her soulmate. She guessed it was a special relationship.

"How long has she been without her mate?" Crilium asked.

"Too long." Tempest groaned and tightened her arms around her waist.

"As we have been traveling. Is there somewhere we can go?" Gerax asked.

"Hold on. We don’t have to go with them. We can just continue on our way." Rynax interjected.

Tempest’s eyebrows furrowed. "Why not? We’ve been traveling for a long while. It might be good for us to be able to stay somewhere safe. "

"We’re are perfectly safe on our own." Rynax shrugged his shoulders.

"How can you possibly think that to be true? This is the second time that we’ve been attacked, not to mention the fact that trying to find food and water has been more than a difficult." Gerax stared at Rynax.

"We’ll be fine." Rynax snarled at Gerax.

Tempest couldn’t understand why Rynax was so against this. It seemed like a good deal for everyone involved. Gerax, Tempest and Rynax would all be able to relax for at least a night. Mexyn would be able to spend time with her mate. It was a great idea, but she didn’t want to go against what Rynax was saying. After all they brought him along with them to keep them safe. If he had reasons to keep them moving on, then she would move along.

"We have more than enough to share. We’ve just come off a hunting mission." Crilium added.

"Precisely,"Gerax waved his hand in the air as if he were waving the idea of moving on out of the air. "If we don’t have to move on right now, then we shouldn’t."

"I agree." Mexyn said.

Tempest didn’t speak up, but instead looked at Rynax to get his say.

There was no mistaking the look on his face. He didn’t want to stay there.

"Fine. We can stay for one night, but then we have to be on our way." Rynax finally relented.

"Wonderful. Come, let me show you where we stay." Crilium shrugged his shoulders and grabbed hold of Mexyn’s hand.

It amazed Tempest with how quickly Mexyn was able to fall into a submissive role with the man and also the fact that she wasn’t the least bit concerned about him touching her. Tempest figured that the rules that she held back on Thraqe didn’t matter here in Skoq.

Tempest smiled at that. She was happy that Mexyn had this chance to be happy. She hoped that she would have the chance to be happy again with Dron. She missed him and hoped that these people that they’d found would have the information that they needed to find him.

She’d been trying to reach him on her communication device from time to time since they’d been on dry land, but still she wasn’t able to.

Just thinking about it made her stomach hurt.

Unfortunately, finding Dron just because she was starting to feel the effects of the fated mate sickness wasn’t the only reason.

They had been traveling for much longer than she thought they would, and according to her calculations, she would be ovulating any day now.

If she didn’t find Dron soon, she’d be forced to go through her heat with no other alphas around.

No one besides Rynax.

If she thought she had a hard time resisting temptation before she knew it would be nearly impossible in the middle of her heat.
