The Water Ghosts and Water Beasts roaming the reservoir saw their matriarch’s son-in-law slip into the opening at the bottom. They all gathered around the entrance, gurgling and blowing bubbles, making all sorts of strange gestures and speaking in inhuman tongues.

After Lu Yuan slipped into the opening, there was not a speck of light inside, and he couldn’t see a thing.

Lu Yuan conjured a ball of azure Flame in his right hand. It wouldn’t extinguish in water, and the glow it cast illuminated the entire underwater cavern.

Lu Yuan swam slowly, afraid of accidentally bumping into something nasty.

Two beams of light shot out from the bottom of the cavern, flashing on and off. Lu Yuan swam toward them, the flame in his hand growing larger.

An enormous dragon head appeared before Lu Yuan. It was the Flood Dragon he had met on Elephant Island, now lying on a large, perfectly flat stone slab. The slab was so smooth that it didn’t have a single bit of moss on it.

The Flood Dragon’s arrogant voice sounded in Lu Yuan’s mind, "Young man, what are you doing here?"

If the Flood Dragon hadn’t known Lu Yuan was Su Liyan’s mother’s son-in-law, it would have swallowed him whole long ago. In all likelihood, not a single member of the Human Race had reached this place of undercurrents in several hundred years.

Human technology wasn’t advanced enough yet; there were no diving suits, oxygen tanks, or searchlights. Coupled with the Xingzi running rampant in the reservoir, it was a daydream for any human to hope to find this place.

If Lu Yuan hadn’t learned from his wife that this was the Flood Dragon’s lair, he never would have been able to find it either.

This Flood Dragon could imitate human speech, but underwater, it had to use either the Sound Transmission Skill or ventriloquism.

Therefore, Lu Yuan could only reply using the Sound Transmission Skill. "Senior, this junior has come here in search of an item, to try my luck for a fateful encounter!"

The Flood Dragon lifted its body slightly and scratched its head with a foreclaw. After a long moment of thought, it brought its face close to Lu Yuan and asked via sound transmission, "Is your daughter also Su Liyan’s daughter?"

’Seriously? This Flood Dragon doesn’t seem too bright!’ Lu Yuan thought to himself, not voicing it aloud.

Lu Yuan used the sound transmission technique to explain the whole story from beginning to end. Upon hearing this, the Flood Dragon lowered its body, coiled its tail, and even shuffled back a few steps. It sent a final message: "Go on, then!"

Puffing his cheeks, with the Water-Resistant Elixir still in his mouth, Lu Yuan cupped the azure Flame between his hands and gave a small bow of thanks. Then, he swam toward the deeper depths.

After swimming for about forty or fifty meters, the descending passage seemed to be blocked by a layer of rock.

Lu Yuan froze in place, wondering, ’Strange. I can clearly feel the undercurrent. How can it be a rock wall? Could it be behind the rock layer?’

’What should I do?’ For a moment, Lu Yuan was out of ideas. Chiseling through rock underwater would be incredibly difficult.

Cannonballs, bombs, and Explosive Talismans were all useless underwater. Was he supposed to break through it manually with a hammer?

After swimming back and forth for a minute or two, Lu Yuan decided to rely on brute force. He held the azure Flame in his left hand, and a large iron hammer appeared in his right.

The large iron hammer was a tool he normally used for alchemy and forging. He kept it in his System Space, ready to be taken out whenever he needed it.

Lu Yuan placed the azure Flame above him, gripped the large iron hammer with both hands, and put all his strength into it, swinging it at the rock before him with a mighty CLANG!

Forty or fifty meters above, the Flood Dragon was secretly observing Lu Yuan’s every move, inwardly delighted. ’What a kid, so ferocious! Hammer it! Hammer it ’til it smokes!’

The recoil sent Lu Yuan flying back several meters through the water, his arms nearly numb from the shock. Yet not even a speck of dust had fallen from the rock face.

"I must be cursed today," Lu Yuan muttered to himself. "That last swing had at least ten thousand jin of force behind it, but the rock is completely unscathed."

If one swing wouldn’t do it, he would just have to swing again!

Lu Yuan adjusted his stance and gathered his strength, unleashing another Heavy Hammer. The rock began to vibrate.

Lu Yuan spun three and a half times in the water, brandishing the large hammer, and silently chanted, ’Eighty!’

On the third swing, the iron hammer in his hands snapped in two. Only then did a chip of rock break off. The vibrations from the rock wall grew even more distinct.

Lu Yuan marveled, ’Unbelievable. I forged this large hammer myself using a variety of materials. Its hardness is comparable to a diamond, yet my everyday alchemy tool not only broke after just three swings, but it only managed to chip off a single piece of rock.’

Lu Yuan retrieved the two pieces of the hammer back into his System Space. He reached out, grabbed the fallen rock chip, and held it up to the firelight to inspect it. ’Let’s see just what kind of super-hard rock this is.’

Lu Yuan rubbed the chip between his fingers. It felt a bit... sticky. Not much like a rock at all.

The rock wall in front of Lu Yuan began to move. A few minutes later, an Old Turtle’s head emerged from the rock face. It exhaled a turbid breath, blasting Lu Yuan upwards.

The azure Flame was also extinguished by the breath, plunging the surroundings into darkness. Lu Yuan couldn’t see a thing and could only let the current carry him.

A powerful current pushed Lu Yuan outwards. As he spun around in the water, he accidentally swallowed the Water-Resistant Elixir he was holding in his mouth.

Lu Yuan instinctively took a breath. Water rushed into his nostrils, and he choked so hard his eyes nearly rolled back in his head.
