Lu Ruyan had her arms wrapped around her chest, her back hunched as she curled into a ball, still shivering violently. Her clothes were frozen solid, and a vast amount of frigid energy was pouring from her body.

The melted water in the courtyard began to freeze over, beautiful ice flowers blooming across its surface.

Sensing something was wrong, Su Liyan’s mother also rushed out, but she was just as helpless, not knowing where to begin.

Lu Yuan merely touched his daughter’s body lightly before immediately yanking his hand back. Two of his fingers were numb with cold. "So cold!" he exclaimed.

Su Liyan’s mother murmured, "The Ice Body?"

Lu Yuan shook his hand, a cyan Flame erupting from his fingers to force back the chill. Even with his Holy Body, he found it hard to endure. It was a testament to how much pain his young daughter was suffering!

A ring of Flame appeared around Lu Yuan’s hand. He slowly brought it closer to his daughter’s body, attempting to use his own Inner Strength to alleviate her pain.

"Son-in-law, you mustn’t!" Su Liyan’s mother came forward and grabbed Lu Yuan’s hand, stopping him. "Ruyan has too much icy energy in her body. If you infuse her with yang energy now, she will certainly die!"

At his mother-in-law’s warning, everyone broke out in a cold sweat. Lu Yuan’s right hand trembled involuntarily; he had almost killed his own daughter with his own hands!

Lu Yuan’s judgment had been clouded by worry. He couldn’t believe he hadn’t thought of such a basic principle.

Su Liyan’s father shook his head. "I’m staying here with my granddaughter, Ruyan."

As the cold energy continued to pour from Lu Ruyan’s body, the surrounding temperature dropped by four or five degrees Celsius.

Worried his father-in-law’s mortal body couldn’t withstand the chill, Lu Yuan sent out a wall of cyan Flame to encircle his daughter, isolating the overflowing cold energy.

Lu Ruyan mumbled deliriously on the ground as her legs transformed into a snake tail. A multicolored serpent’s tail coiled up from below, wrapping around her body. Her clothes, once frozen solid, shattered into icy fragments that scattered across the ground.

Su Liyan’s father didn’t seem surprised. His eyes were filled with worry, his only hope that his granddaughter would recover quickly.

After a long while, Lu Ruyan’s consciousness gradually returned. With a light flick of her writhing snake tail, she launched herself into the air. The powerful force propelled her more than two meters off the ground!

The one-year-old Lu Ruyan landed steadily before them. After her atavistic transformation, she had grown pointed ears and vertical pupils, much like Su Liyan.

The difference was that Su Liyan had scarlet vertical pupils and beautiful, jet-black hair. Lu Ruyan’s eyes, however, were frost-colored. If one looked closely, they could see an ice flower within her pupils. Her hair had turned from black to white, and even her eyebrows were white.

’The White-haired Witch?’ Lu Yuan muttered to himself. ’Could there have been a problem with the Elixir I refined? Where did I go wrong?’

Su Liyan and her mother were even more puzzled. This wasn’t what Lu Ruyan looked like during her first atavistic transformation. Why had her appearance changed so drastically?

Su Liyan’s father covered his face with his sleeve. The cold wind lashing his skin felt like sharp blades of ice, causing intense pain.

Quick-witted and even quicker to act, Lu Yuan leaped in front of his father-in-law and threw up an invisible wall of qi to block the cold energy and wind.

Su Liyan and her mother chanted a Spell, casting a Technique to form a protective barrier around themselves.

There was nothing anyone could do. The only thing they could offer was their presence.

Lu Ruyan opened her eyes and swept her gaze around unconsciously. Her body shuddered, and a powerful surge of Inner Strength erupted, knocking Su Liyan’s mother, who was standing in front, back several steps before she could barely regain her footing.

THUD!

Like a deflating balloon, Lu Ruyan fell from the air and slammed onto the ground, passing out completely. Her multicolored snake tail lay askew on the ground behind her.

The collapse was likely caused by a lack of stamina and the complete depletion of her energy.

Lu Yuan withdrew his Inner Strength, and the qi wall vanished into thin air.

Lu Yuan walked to his daughter’s side and slowly reached out his hand. He could feel the cold energy on her body gradually receding. He turned to the others and said, "It’s fading!"

Su Liyan’s mother replied, "I’m afraid that with such immense power, she won’t be able to control her own consciousness after transforming."

Hearing this, Lu Yuan took half a step back. He recalled what his daughter had looked like after transforming—her eyes wide with fury as she glared at them, as if she saw them all as enemies.
