Chapter 471 - 259: A Bite of the Snake-Flavored Ice Pop
"It’s so hot! I can’t take it!" Lu Yuan cried out, his brow furrowed as his consciousness began to blur.
Su Liyan’s heart ached to see Lu Yuan hovering on the brink of unconsciousness, unsure of what to do.
Su Liyan withdrew her Palm Force, pressed her palms together, and chanted a Spell. A chilling aura emanated from her entire body as her temperature plummeted.
Her body temperature dropped from 25 degrees Celsius, continuing to fall past 10 degrees with no sign of stopping.
The blood in Su Liyan’s veins turned to ice. The term "cold-blooded" had never been more appropriate.
Su Liyan shed her outer clothes. Her legs merged, transforming into the tail of a white snake as her entire body began to glow.
A closer look would reveal a layer of frost forming on her skin beneath the white light.
Su Liyan’s white snake tail was several sizes larger than before, strong and powerful as it slammed against the floor.
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
Su Liyan’s forked tongue flickered out, licking Lu Yuan’s cheek.
SSSSS...
A puff of steam rose from her ice-cold tongue, a testament to how high Lu Yuan’s temperature was—hot enough to vaporize moisture in an instant.
If it weren’t for his protective Holy Body and his own formidable Inner Strength, he might very well have exploded from the heat.
Su Liyan repeatedly used her tongue to cool Lu Yuan’s face, one flick at a time.
With his eyes shut tight, Lu Yuan felt as if a cold compress was pressed to his face. The icy sensation shot straight to his brain, clearing his head considerably.
Lu Yuan’s eyes flew open. He saw his wife, stark naked and covered in a layer of white frost, and his eyes lit up.
’She’s gorgeous!’ Lu Yuan thought. His heart pounded as if a delicate hand were squeezing it, tightening its grip every so often.
’Is this what they mean by capturing someone’s heart?’
’In this heat, how amazing would it be to have a taste of a snake-flavored popsicle?’
Lu Yuan mumbled, "Wife... wife..."
The delirious Lu Yuan lunged forward, feeling as if he were lying on a block of ice. "So cold... so comfortable..."
"I need you... I need all of you..." Lu Yuan mumbled, his mind muddled by the heat.
Su Liyan didn’t resist. Her eyes filled with tenderness as she looked at the feverish Lu Yuan. "Yuan," she said softly, "I’m here... I’m right here..."
Su Liyan lifted one of her icy "flower buns," cupping it in her hand and pressing it to Lu Yuan’s lips.
These "buns" came in different sizes, depending on the "baker." Gu Ziye’s, for instance, were the smallest.
Lu Yuan thought the "flower bun" in his mouth was incredibly sweet, a sensation of both ice and fire.
Su Liyan touched Lu Yuan’s forehead. It was still scorching hot. ’What am I going to do?’ she murmured. ’It seems the only way to speed up the heat transfer is to increase the surface area of contact.’
’Oh, and thermal conductivity. I have to remove all the insulating materials from his body—the silk, the cotton—to speed up his heat dissipation.’
Lu Yuan had already taken care of that before Su Liyan even entered the room.
That was why she had seen Lu Yuan sprawled so indecently when she first came in.
Su Liyan tightened her large white snake tail, its tip swaying uncontrollably from side to side.
The glowing, frost-covered tail coiled around Lu Yuan from the bottom up, wrapping around his body a full three times.
A massive cloud of steam filled the room, as if several ladles of water had been thrown onto red-hot coals in a sauna.
Su Liyan endured Lu Yuan’s intense heat while Lu Yuan savored her refreshing coolness.
After about seven or eight minutes, Lu Yuan’s mind finally cleared. Although the Black-Green Flame still burned within him, the sensation was much less intense than before.
Lu Yuan clung to his wife’s large white snake tail, pecking at it relentlessly like a woodpecker searching for grubs in a tree trunk.
SMACK... SMACK...
He bobbed his head like he was pounding garlic, with no fear of a concussion!
Lu Yuan would occasionally praise, "Smells good... tastes good! I love it!"
Su Liyan, still coiled around Lu Yuan, gripped his back and leaned in closer. "If it’s good," she said softly, "then have some more."
"Mhm!"
Lu Yuan, vexed with the lustful fire raging inside him with no outlet, flipped his wife over and pinned her to the ground, saying:
"Honey, you’re so cold. My heat is just the thing to melt your ice!"
Two hours passed before Lu Yuan finally stopped.
Lu Yuan released a torrent of heat with a powerful impact.
Su Liyan’s body took the full force of the torrent.
With that, the Black-Green Flame inside Lu Yuan was finally extinguished.
Lu Yuan personally draped Su Liyan’s clothes over her. "You’re my lucky star," he said. "You’re always here to watch over me."
Su Liyan stood up as well, letting the clothes slide to the floor. She pressed against Lu Yuan and said, "Yuan, I’m all yours. Of course I’ll help you if anything happens!"
Lu Yuan rested a hand on her snake tail, his mind now much clearer.
A voice suddenly echoed in Lu Yuan’s mind. "Congratulations, Master. Your power has surged, and you have broken through to the Celestial Monarch Realm!"
"The Celestial Monarch Realm?"
Hearing Gongyue Monarch’s Sound Transmission Skill, Lu Yuan muttered the three words aloud.
Su Liyan looked up at Lu Yuan. "Yuan, what did you say?"
"N-nothing!" Lu Yuan still didn’t understand what was happening. ’Better not tell my wife just yet,’ he thought.
’Wait a minute!’
’What’s going on?!’
Lu Yuan’s mind buzzed as if struck by something. He quickly bent down and scooped up the clothes from the floor.
Lu Yuan sorted through the clothes. "This is mine, this is yours, this is mine..."
Su Liyan took the clothes he handed her and asked, confused, "Yuan, what’s wrong?"
Lu Yuan dressed himself in a hurry. "Honey, get dressed first. Once you’re ready, go back to your room. I’ll come find you in a little while!"
"Oh!" Su Liyan replied. The moment she was dressed, Lu Yuan pushed her out the door.
As Su Liyan stood outside the door tying the silk ribbon at her waist, she thought to herself:
’Yuan isn’t like that. He must have a reason he can’t talk about for sending me out. He wouldn’t just pull up his pants and pretend he doesn’t know me, would he?’
Once she had straightened her clothes, Su Liyan headed for her mother’s room.
Lu Yuan took out the Top Grade Spirit Capturing Device and released the Da Xingzi, Gongyue Monarch.
Gongyue Monarch floated several inches off the ground. She bowed with clasped hands toward Lu Yuan and said, "Master—"
Before Gongyue Monarch could finish, she felt a powerful wave of killing intent wash over her.
Lu Yuan now held a dagger forged from Long Snake Teeth in his right hand. Its blade was coated with a deadly poison.
Lu Yuan chanted a Spell. His body glowed with a green light as he flashed in front of Gongyue Monarch.
He pressed the glowing green dagger to Gongyue Monarch’s neck, pinning her against the wall.
The wall also glowed with green light, preventing Gongyue Monarch from passing through it.
As a Void Body, Gongyue Monarch knew this was her master’s Daoist Skill—a technique that could physically affect incorporeal beings like her Soul Body.
Faced with her master’s towering rage, Gongyue Monarch was at a loss. Even with over a thousand years of cultivation, she dared not resist.
A Xingzi bound by the Spirit Capturing Device could not resist its holder.
Lu Yuan’s eyes blazed with fury as he demanded, "Gongyue Monarch, were you spying on me just now?"
Gongyue Monarch waved her hands frantically. "Master, I—I wasn’t!"
"Still trying to deny it? If you weren’t spying, how would you know I broke through to the Celestial Monarch Realm?"
Gongyue Monarch held up her hands. "Master, I can sense the surrounding auras from within the Spirit Capturing Device, but I absolutely cannot see the environment around me!" she explained.
Lu Yuan pulled the dagger back a few inches, his expression half-doubting. "Really?"
Gongyue Monarch immediately raised three fingers of her right hand and swore an oath. "Master, I swear on my soul! If I’ve uttered a single false word, may my spirit be scattered to the winds!"
’An oath?’
’Oaths had to be taken seriously. In this era, breaking one would inevitably result in a backlash.’
The Little Fox, Xiaoqian, had previously sworn a similar oath to him and Su Liyan.
Hearing this, Lu Yuan finally let Gongyue Monarch go. His anger subsided as he thought, ’Damn it, and here I was thinking I’d put on a live show for her while I was with my wife.’
’That’s not exactly something you let other people watch, is it?’
