In that moment, Little Situ’s mind went blank.

All the errant thoughts escalated further.

And continued to amplify step by step.

Her thoughts drifted far away, becoming increasingly skewed, impossible to rein in.

A myriad of thoughts coalesced into one, and she couldn’t help but lean closer to Su Mo:

"Big... brother..."

No sooner had she spoken than she felt a flow of Inner Strength slowly being transferred through her palm.

Her heartbeat, which was like the pounding of drums, and her rapid breathing, immediately calmed down.

The blush on her face gradually faded as she looked up at Su Mo.

Under the night sky, within the enclosing curtains, she raised her head, her eyes like autumn water, with a mix of surprise, shame, disappointment, and a touch of grievance... she gazed wistfully at Su Mo.

Su Mo lightly exhaled and after much contemplation, made a bold move.

He stretched his arms and pulled Little Situ into his embrace.

Gently patting her on the back.

Though not a word was spoken, it was as if a thousand words had been said.

Restoring peace to Little Situ’s chaotic mind.

She buried her face in Su Mo’s chest, no longer moving.

But Su Mo’s voice came to her ear:

"They’re here."

Upon hearing this, Little Situ immediately felt annoyed.

Just as she had finally found a moment of tenderness, inside this inn there was unrest, and someone was here to cause trouble. She couldn’t help but lift her head and glare towards the door.

A hand pushed her head back down, making her lie back down.

Just as Little Situ reluctantly laid back, the door made creaking noises.

Su Mo looked up and saw a Short Blade slide into the gap in the door, slowly pushing the latch open.

Moments later, someone nudged the door open a crack.

Someone peeked through from outside, seeing the mess on the table.

Two lying on the bed, and one on the chair.

Only then did they feel assured and entered the room, and someone spoke up:

"Did they eat it all?"

"I guess so, the Knockout Drug was strong enough to keep them asleep all night."

"Should we take them now? The boy has a silver coin on him, can’t leave that behind."

"That works too."

The other person nodded.

Approaching the bed, about to reach out, when suddenly, a cold voice sounded from outside:

"Stealing, are we?"

This voice was icy, belonging to the woman dressed as a member of the Blood Lotus Sect.

Her sudden arrival scared the two inside out of their wits.

After trembling for a while, they finally turned back:

"Dear lady, you scared us to death."

"Indeed, our business deals here have nothing to do with you, so please carry on with your own affairs and pay us no mind."

"Usually I wouldn’t care, but right now we’re all in this together, and I can’t allow you to commit murder in my presence."

The girl coldly said:

"And besides, if a tongue wags, a life might be lost in the blink of an eye. At this point, how can I let you create trouble?

"Just get out of this room peacefully, otherwise, beware of my merciless hand."

The two looked at each other, about to say something, when they heard a scream suddenly erupt outside the inn.

All three of their expressions changed simultaneously.

Without a moment’s thought for Su Mo and Little Situ, they hurriedly rushed out of the room, not even closing the door behind them in their haste.

Once these people had left, only then did Su Mo and Little Situ get up.

Su Mo sent the door shut with a single palm strike.

Sounds began to arise from all corners of the inn.

It was evident that no one in the inn intended to sleep peacefully tonight.

Su Mo listened quietly for a moment, understanding that those in the inn hadn’t rushed out.

But had spread themselves around the second-floor railing, waiting steadily, clearly intent on catching their prey.

Little Situ spoke softly at this moment:

"The Shopkeeper of this inn originally collaborated with them."

Su Mo nodded lightly.

Little Situ was taken aback by this:

"You knew this all along?"

"Didn’t you find it suspicious how much the inn’s Shopkeeper knew?"

Su Mo smiled: "For guests from across the world, he knew they were headed to Jingxin Hall for accountability... How could they honestly disclose such things?"

"I see now."

Little Situ suddenly understood:

"They set up a trap here just to lure the Blood Lotus Sect in?"

"This scheme likely didn’t start from the inn, but rather wraps up here."

Su Mo lightly shook his head:

"It seems the prior arrangements paid off, but whether these ragtag remnants can tackle the Blood Lotus Sect?"

"Should we lend a hand?"

Little Situ asked.

Su Mo lightly shook his head:

"Let’s watch for now, they must have some assurance with this plan.

"If indeed someone formidable from the Blood Lotus Sect arrives, perhaps we can capture another tongue."

As they were saying this, they suddenly saw Dong Cuilan leap up and stride towards the window.

Su Mo smiled at this, gave a finger snap, and just as Dong Cuilan reached the window, she was left weak and collapsed to the ground, her mouth open to shout, but though she had postured for it, no sound came out.

Her Dumb Acupoint had been struck.

Furious, she couldn’t help but glance back at Su Mo with anger.

But meeting his gaze, fear overcame her again, and she instinctively lowered her head.

Su Mo gave her a look, gently shook his head, flicked his finger, and the finger strength flew through the air, landing squarely on her Yutang Acupoint.
