I feel like had something to say, but i forgot.

Anyway, 2.5k stones for the bonus.

Get cracking.

...

"Deploy Nuke." Norman ended the call after two words.

"So, where was I? Yeah, you always had this habit of rambling, even during your lectures." He sighed, as it took him back to university. "Everyone is a master of their life. I get that you want to look cool in your last moments, but not everyone gets to be the main guy in this world."

"The main guy is always the one who adapts the fastest to this ever-changing world, the one who rebuilds himself faster, wins." Norman patted the back of his former partner, who had adapted wrong. It was too bad he would never understand this.

When Norman stepped out, a team in hazmat suits entered the office to clean up.

"Sir, Mr. Musk is asking if he could accompany you to your son’s birthday party." His secretary, Cindy, walked beside him, juggling through the file. It would probably take her a while to get used to this new position.

"That’s ok, tell him to get ready in 5 minutes." He looked at Cindy with a small smile. "What was Stark’s reply?"

"Ms. Pots says she doesn’t know where he is."

"And here I was looking forward to meeting him." Norman shook his head, thinking back on the ideas he got from Pluto.

With a smile, he stepped into the car after checking his appearance in the car’s window, holding the birthday gift for his son close to his heart.

"Sir, we heard reports that the main gate is overrun. Should I pull into the west gate?" The driver asked, eyes on the road.

"Is it that Fight Club rabble?" Norman had a hint of amusement in his eyes.

"Yes sir, they have homemade Molotovs and everything. The security is keeping them at bay till the police arrive."

"Don’t call the police; also ask the head of security to get in contact with their leader." The corners of Norman’s lips twitched.

To reach the top, one needed many things. But the thing they needed the most was stepping stones.

And one had just fallen into his lap.

’His speed is top tier; it is beyond human.’ Colleen sidestepped the lunging attacker who had lost his rifle.

His knife missed her neck by a hairsbreadth. But her eyes were locked on the fight between John and the Green Captain America.

John especially had her attention. What he used were very simple moves picked from a variety of martial arts; however, the way he dodged the bouncing shield really made her admire his senses.

It didn’t matter if the shield came from the left or right, up or below. Even if it had aimed for his blind spot, slicing through air, John would dodge with minimal effort. It was almost like he had eyes on the back of his head.

’Is this a more advanced version of sensing intent?’ Colleen wondered while dashing towards the newly approaching gunmen.

She could understand the sensing to an extent. Feeling the gun’s barrel pressed against her chest even if it was 5 meters away. Her sword lashed out in a wide arc. The AK was slashed in two. Along with the attacker’s fingers on the trigger.

But there were more beyond this guy. Now, five more barrels were against her at the same time. It wasn’t that she couldn’t sense the attacks. It was the processing of information, planning a possible route, and then executing that all on repeat, doing it over and over every second.

It was like asking for a headache.

John made that look effortless. If it was possible, Colleen wanted to observe more. She wanted to study how he stitched those long, complicated sequences back-to-back. But all she could do was use the one she had defeated as a shield and handle these attackers first.

’I might have to push myself if I want to learn something new.’ Colleen’s eyes narrowed as she crouched low. The gathering power in her legs exploded as she burst forward with her Katana.

On the other hand, John started to get irritated by the bouncing shield. Not only was it coming at him from more and more ridiculous angles each turn. This damned robot met all his punches and kicks with the shield.

’This is like a more annoying version of that damned mosquito!’ John groaned as another one of his punches was met by the black shield, which absorbed the force as it slid back.

But the silver lining was that this wasn’t the complete Super-Adaptoid he knew from the comics. So far, it had only used Captain America’s skills. Well, that could be a trick, but John trusted his instincts on this one.

This wasn’t anything he couldn’t handle. However, what kept John from going all out was the second attacker he had sensed beyond the club.

This attacker wasn’t moving. It observed everything going on inside the mist somehow.

’I don’t have time to worry about this green mist for now.’ John kept breathing normally without a problem.

As he was thinking, the Shield struck his left elbow after bouncing between a pillar and the floor. As his arm went limp and that static feeling took over, the Adaptoid closed in with a balled-up fist.

It had read this as the perfect moment to attack. Since the fight started, this was the first opening it had found.

And it would’ve worked. If John hadn’t done this on purpose.

Even with Captain America’s shield and strength. The Adaptoid still fought like a machine. Clean and precise attacks. Textbook form. And a machine always looked for the shortest route. It fell for a feint much more easily compared to Humans.

As the Adaptoid’s fist shot forward. John shifted his torso and caught the hand between his left bicep and ribs. Adaptoid tried to move back, but his arm was jammed. The shield on the floor behind John.

However, this was when the observer stepped into the battle. His figure was like a flitting shadow in the green smoke. And unlike John’s expectations, it didn’t come for him. Even when he tried to appear unguarded.

’So, their target is Harry.’ Colleen noticed the shadow and rushed to meet it in the middle.

Her sword came down from an overhead swing. It looked like she had caught the attacker off guard. But as the green mist thinned, he was matching her swing.

The swords clashed with a dance of sparks. Colleen came face to face with the skull mask on this hooded attacker. He had copied her strike perfectly.

She moved back. A diagonal slash. He replied with the same move. Her sword thrust forward; he did the same. The clash of steel rang out as he matched each of her moves.

As a last-ditch effort, Colleen gathered all her power in her hands. With gritted teeth, she brought the sword down. Her opponent copied her once again.

The swords clashed again. Sparks flew as she looked into the hollowed eyes of the skull. Meeting the light green eyes staring right at her.

’How?’ She kicked towards his sternum, but he matched that kick too.

Stumbling back, Colleen noticed the bracelet on this attacker’s wrist as the jet-black cloak fluttered. It resembled the one the green Captain America wore.

Her right shoulder burned. But she still hadn’t found her balance to move. That’s when the spinning metal bit into her body. Her collarbone crunched in two as her sword hand went limp.

This guy had thrown the shield up while their swords clashed and covered the sound of it hitting the ceiling with the clang. Not to mention, he copied her style perfectly and kicked her into the shield’s trajectory.

’I am charging extra after this.’ Colleen grunted, trying to pass the sword to her left hand.

But the attacker was already in front of her after catching the shield again. The gleaming blade came for her neck in the cleanest downward slash. An exact copy of her earlier attack.

That’s when a sharp clap echoed through the area.

The skull mask’s sword sliced through flesh, or at least that’s what it felt like.

’What’s this bullshit now?’ He frowned at the green hand he had sliced in two.

Then, following another clap, John appeared in the place of one of the sliced pieces. His feet hit the ground to his left. His fist was covered in Haki and enhanced with cursed energy to the max.

Goosebumps covered the attacker as he quickly gathered his body behind the shield on his arm. The fist connected squarely with the shield with a deafening bang that pushed the green smoke away as sparks flew.

Even if the damage didn’t reach the target. The follow-through of John’s swing sent this 6-foot man in full tactical armour flying through the pillar.

The attacker crashed into the wall and slid to the floor with a cough. Thankfully, he had used the shield to dampen the crash into the wall as well. But more than that, his eyes were locked onto John with a questioning look.

Even if thick green mist covered the place, he could see through the smoke with the provided lens. Sheathing his sword, he took out a small notebook tucked away in his armour.

Taskmaster Mission details

Capture Harry Osborn (Alive) {Super important}

Taskmaster flipped through the rest of the pages to see the personnel details, but he couldn’t find the person who had launched him like a rag doll even if he looked through it twice.

Still, he had prepared for that while watching him so far.

However, it wasn’t the raw power alone. Honestly, he had something more problematic at hand. The Adaptoid tried to attack this person, but got kicked away.

This green Captain America that copied his moves bounced on the floor like a ball, heading straight for him. But just as he jumped over the body, a clap followed.

A set of feet landed behind him as he twisted mid-air. The shield barely caught the upper cut. Taskmaster flipped mid-air and stuck a landing on the ceiling, his humming shoes keeping him upside down.

’Adaptoid has lost an arm... trying to abduct Harry with this guy protecting him... a 40% chance right now. But the sleeping gas should work soon.’ Taskmaster thought that it would only take a bit more time.

This guy had been breathing in a gas that was designed to knock out even a 100 Spider-Woman. However, there was this cold sweat running down the back of his neck at this moment.

Something about this man wasn’t right. He had faced many humans and superhumans in his time, but this one seemed beyond that already.

"Requesting permission to retreat." He pressed on his ear, ready to trust the instinct as the green machine stubbornly engaged with John on his command.

But a sharp, robotic voice came from the other side.

"Forget Harry. Capture this one. The Adaptoid didn’t show this much growth even after facing you for weeks." The nasally voice trembled with excitement. "Any price you want, it is yours. I want him."

"Oh boy..." Taskmaster disengaged the magnetism on his shoes and landed on the marble floor, cracking it as he stood up. "Seems like someone developed a crush."

He took in all the moves of his target that overwhelmed the green bot.

And with a sharp breath, Taskmaster entered the fight properly.
