Chapter 18: The JK Uniform Wish
"What kind of monster is that?!"
"Is Godzilla invading?"
The soldiers not far from Pietro and Wanda followed the sound and, almost at the same time, raised their heads to see that enormous eye. One by one, they were so frightened that they collapsed onto the ground.
"Hey, Joyce, did you catch those two little brats? Remember to bring them back. We need fresh blood with no attachments, or perhaps experimental subjects."
"Lord Strucker, we’ve been stopped by Godzilla."
The squad captain held his earpiece and answered somewhat stiffly.
The voice on the other end fell into a brief silence, then replied, "That joke is very boring, Sergeant Joyce. Come back soon. There are still missions here that need you to carry them out."
"No, Lord Strucker, I’m not joking..."
"Then prove your loyalty to Hydra. Kill Godzilla and bring its corpse back."
Beep, beep.
The other side cut off the signal.
"Hail Hydra!"
The despairing Captain Joyce raised his submachine gun and pulled the trigger at the enormous eye in the sky.
Clink, clink, clink!
The bullets struck the giant monster’s eyelid, but it was as if they had hit steel. They made crisp ringing sounds and bounced back.
"You people really are like little heifers walking into a bull pen—fucking impressive."
Boom!
A massive claw descended from the sky and directly crushed them like cockroaches, making the world quiet again.
"So this is what it feels like when Kronos swats people. Not that great."
The huge claw slowly lifted and shook off the bloodstains on it.
"You..."
Pietro stared dumbfounded as the unknown giant creature slapped the soldiers chasing them to death with one claw. Then... that enormous creature gradually shrank and turned into a human?
"Was she the one who summoned me?"
Orion Cross glanced at the unconscious little girl in his arms and asked.
"She’s my sister..."
Pietro nodded subconsciously, then suddenly shook his head hard. "No, wait, my sister only wanted a piece of clothing!"
"Clothing? What did she do?" Orion Cross asked.
"She made a wish to an Aladdin magic lamp. Who knew a genie would really come out of it?"
Pietro scratched his hair. Too many bizarre things had happened today, completely overturning his worldview all at once.
What happened to believing in science? Mom, Dad, you lied to me!
"A magic lamp?"
A strange expression immediately appeared on Orion Cross’s face. He lowered his head and glanced at Wanda. "So, what wish did she make?"
"I’m not lying to you. She really only asked for a piece of clothing."
Pietro was close to tears. He now suspected that the magic lamp was some demon’s temptation, and once someone made a wish, it would release a monster.
"I’m asking, what were her exact words?"
Orion Cross looked speechlessly at the boy in front of him, who was about to cry, and asked.
"I... she said she wanted ’a set of JK.’ JK is internet slang from Japan. It seems to mean a female high school student."
Pietro looked at Orion Cross, who was walking closer and closer, and explained in a panic, afraid that Orion Cross would not understand.
"JK?"
Orion Cross looked at the little girl in his arms with a strange expression. "So it really was a coincidence. Zephrys screwed up again, but somehow got it right by accident."
"A coincidence?"
Pietro leaned against a tree with trembling legs. When he heard Orion Cross’s words, he froze.
"That form just now was called Galakrond. In abbreviation, JK."
"..."
Pietro opened his mouth, wanting to speak, but did not know what to say.
"So, you’re Godzilla?"
Pietro asked cautiously.
"How do I look like Godzilla?"
Orion Cross placed Wanda beside the tree and let her lean against it. Hearing those words, his face immediately darkened, and he turned back to glare at Pietro. "That form is the Father of Dragons. But I myself am just an ordinary person."
Ordinary person, my ass!
The corner of Pietro’s mouth twitched slightly. He had never seen any ordinary person with this kind of ability.
If Orion Cross was an ordinary person, then what was he? A single-celled organism?
But the Father of Dragons...
"The Father of Dragons? A giant dragon? Is it like Smaug?"
Pietro’s eyes lit up, and he asked excitedly.
Because Galakrond’s body was far too massive, they could only see a pair of eyes in the darkness earlier. They had no way to see his full appearance at all, so the people below could only imagine it on their own.
Now that Pietro knew the thing that had appeared before him just now was actually a legendary dragon, he immediately became excited.
Dragons were fantasy existences that stood alongside mecha as a man’s romance!
"A dragon like Smaug is nothing more than a slightly larger fly."
Orion Cross glanced at Pietro and spoke.
As for Smaug, the last of the dragons of Middle-earth, he was only that much.
Even Deathwing was only the size of a rabbit in front of Galakrond, let alone Smaug.
"Right, is my sister okay?"
Only then did Pietro remember his sister’s safety. Ignoring his fear of Orion Cross, he hurriedly ran to the tree, crouched beside the unconscious Wanda, and called out, "Wanda, wake up! Wanda!"
"So noisy. Can you stop shouting, little boy?"
A voice sounded from beneath Wanda, its tone carrying a trace of dissatisfaction.
"Uh?"
Pietro froze. What was that voice?
