Chapter 81: Let Hydra Play Hydra

"Nick Fury agreed. For now, you can freely mobilize any idle agents who aren’t on missions or vacation."

Two minutes later, Natasha returned with good news.

"Then let’s head out first. Don’t disturb him."

Orion Cross pushed Natasha out of the hospital room and gently closed the door. It was not that he cared that much about Captain America. He was just afraid that if the guy was woken up, his mission plan would fall apart.

"How is the Captain?"

When Sharon saw the two of them come out, she stepped forward and asked.

"There are still no signs of him waking up."

Natasha smiled and casually replied, then said, "Sorry, I need to take Consultant Orion to carry out a mission. We’ll be leaving first."

The two of them left the Captain America monitoring area on the third floor and went to the personnel department on the fifth floor.

"The list of idle agents is here. Go ahead and choose."

Natasha walked over to a laptop, casually tapped a few times to enter the password, then pushed the laptop in front of Orion Cross.

"No rush for that yet. I’ll write a script first."

Orion Cross minimized the agent list and opened the Word document on the desktop.

Half an hour later, Orion Cross took both hands off the keyboard and let out a long breath. "That exhausted me."

"You can get tired too?"

Natasha smiled and massaged Orion Cross’s shoulders twice, though her eyes remained fixed on the computer screen. "Are you sure this is helping the Captain recover psychologically and not making him collapse?"

"Ever heard of fighting poison with poison?"

Orion Cross twisted his neck, stretched lazily, and pressed the switch on the printer nearby. Page after page of the script was printed out.

"All right. I’ve also decided on the main personnel, but everyone needs a copy of this script. Don’t let anyone expose the act when the time comes."

Orion Cross turned around and placed the thick stack of scripts in Natasha’s arms.

"Fine. I’ll make sure they read it carefully."

Natasha hugged the pile of A4 papers and nodded speechlessly.

While Natasha went to notify the various "actors," Orion Cross took out his phone and made a call.

"Hello, Raven. I need an Oscar-level actor here."

"You really are going too far."

After Natasha returned and saw the person standing beside Orion Cross, she was immediately speechless. This person looked exactly like one of the members of the Howling Commandos who had once fought alongside Captain America. She knew this was definitely the superhuman called Raven, also known as Mystique.

"Raven, I’ll leave it to you. Your name right now is Judith Johnson."

Orion Cross patted the "man" on the shoulder and spoke.

"I just received another piece of news."

Natasha sat down in a chair, spun around, and looked at Orion Cross. "The Hulk’s trail has appeared again."

"Then it appeared. What else can we do?"

Orion Cross did not care at all. Logically speaking, missions were usually harder when the rewards were better. If he could not complete one, he could just wait for it to refresh. Right now, he was focused on completing Captain America’s mission. Where would he find the time to care about Hulk? However, he could make use of it. What if it happened to work out by coincidence?

"Hello? The Captain is showing signs of waking up?"

Natasha answered the phone. After hearing Sharon’s report from the other side, her eyes widened as she looked at Orion Cross. Her meaning was obvious. Were you still not going?

"Raven already left. You didn’t notice?"

Orion Cross shrugged and spoke.

"How did she leave without an agent ID or fingerprint access..."

Halfway through Natasha’s question, she immediately stopped. Right. Mystique could transform into anyone’s appearance, so naturally, she could also copy fingerprints.

"Make a call. Gather our actors. It’s time to start filming."

Orion Cross stepped forward, patted Natasha on the shoulder, and walked out.

In the combat department on the eighth floor, Brock Rumlow, captain of the rapid response special forces team, looked at the script Natasha had sent over for dealing with Captain America with a baffled expression.

"You want us to play Hydra agents?"

Rumlow looked at his subordinates and found endless confusion in their eyes as well. Little friend, do you have a lot of question marks?

Inside the clean and tidy hospital room, Steve Rogers’s eyelids trembled slightly. Under the sunlight, he slowly opened his eyes.

"A beautiful curveball! That ball is high and far. The Dodgers have tied the game..."

Listening to the broadcast from the radio, doubt appeared in Steve’s eyes. This broadcast... seemed to be from 1941. And that game, he clearly remembered being there in person.

Knock, knock.

"Hm?"

Steve turned his head in the direction of the sound and saw a familiar person standing at the door. Just as he was about to greet him, he suddenly saw the words written on the piece of paper in the man’s hand.

Do not make a sound!!!

The three blood-red exclamation marks after the sentence instantly raised Steve’s vigilance.

Use this.

The man carefully handed Steve a pen and a piece of paper.

"Mm!"

Steve subconsciously wanted to thank him, but when he remembered what was written on the paper, he forcefully covered his mouth, then wrote down a line.

What happened? Where am I?

After writing that, Steve carefully got off the bed and looked out the window. The towering skyscrapers outside felt extremely unfamiliar to him.

Knock.

The man tapped the table, signaling for him to look at the words on the paper.

Captain, you’ve been unconscious for three months. The Red Skull was transported to Australia by the Tesseract, and he brought Hydra back with him.

They found you and the Tesseract at the place where you crashed. Then they used the Tesseract’s power to rule the world and built those skyscrapers and technology outside.

"What did you say?"

After reading those two lines, Steve could not help speaking aloud.

"Shh!"

The man nervously glanced behind him, then picked up the pen and wrote another line.

Captain, do not make a sound. Hydra wanted to use brainwashing drugs on you while you were unconscious, but I replaced all of them. If they discover that you’ve woken up, then...

Steve looked at the discarded bags of nutrient fluid in the trash can not far away and immediately believed the man’s words. Then he fell into confusion.

After five minutes of silence, Steve took a deep breath, stood up, picked up the pen, and wrote a line.

Judith, thank you. But I have my bottom line, and... something I must do.

After saying that, Steve walked toward the door, preparing to leave the room and face this world.

"Wait."

The man called out to Steve and raised a piece of paper.

Captain, Hydra used Officer Peggy Carter as a test subject to test their self-made Super Soldier Serum... so be careful of a green monster.

"?!"

After seeing those words, Steve’s pupils suddenly contracted.

Peggy had suffered too?
