Chapter 313 Ultron Armor
An unknown amount of time passed before Hela finally slumped onto her throne.
Her body wasn’t tired, but her heart was exhausted.
She had taught Darian over and over again, and several times she had wanted to throw in the towel and quit.
But every time, Darian would say he’d had an epiphany and was just a tiny bit away, and that if they stopped now, he’d have to start from scratch next time.
Hela didn’t want all her previous efforts to go to waste, so she gritted her teeth and continued teaching.
However, that last bit of progress looked like a tiny sliver, yet it felt like a bottomless pit.
She would finish teaching once, and the progress would move forward by 0.09%; she’d teach again, and it would move 0.009%. Every time she thought it was the last time she had to teach Darian, it was always just a tiny bit away from completion.
Darian was also helpless.
There was no other way; the game mechanics were set up this way. No amount of effort mattered; only when the progress bar was completely finished could he truly learn this magic.
So he could only coax and deceive Hela into repeating the teaching over and over until the progress bar finished.
Fortunately, in the end, he finally learned the magic.
Darian immediately pulled out the pharaohs scepter and used Enchantment on it, infusing the newly learned magic into the pharaohs scepter. Then he threw it out with force, and the pharaohs scepter instantly vanished from sight.
Boom!!
A dull, loud crash came from the distance, though it was unclear what it had hit.
Next, Darian extended his right hand, fingers splayed and palm facing forward.
He paused for half a second.
Whoosh—!
The pharaohs scepter came whistling through the air from the distance, moving so fast it was just an afterimage. With a ’clack,’ it landed firmly in his palm.
"Perfect. Now I never have to worry about my weapon not coming back after I throw it."
Darian hefted the pharaohs scepter in his hand, feeling very satisfied.
His strength was already great, and combined with the Charging and Throwing skills, plus the added magic on the pharaohs scepter, its power was far greater than a missile.
Of course, Darian rarely used it this way. After all, who would throw their weapon away in the middle of a battle? Isn’t that just pure idiocy?
Now it was different. He could summon his weapon back at any time, just like Thor summons Mjolnir. He could throw it however he wanted from now on.
Hela, watching from the side, was stunned, her voice full of surprise: "You actually learned it?"
Even when she learned magic back then, she had to practice repeatedly several times to master it completely.
Unlike Darian, who just listened to her explanations and demonstrations the whole time without a single practical attempt, and yet he learned it just like that.
Darian grinned, looking smug: "Of course, I am a genius."
This time Hela didn’t refute him. Instead, her eyes grew heated as she stared straight at Darian.
The stronger Darian was, the stronger their future offspring would be. If they were then carefully trained by her, perhaps in the future they could string up that old man Odin and beat him, or even let him taste what it felt like to be sealed away back then.
Just imagining that scene made Hela’s scalp tingle with excitement.
Darian felt uncomfortable under Hela’s gaze and looked at her warily, muttering to himself.
As expected, a boy out in the world must protect himself well.
"By the way, do you know how to use this thing?"
Darian quickly changed the subject, waving his hand. A massive silver humanoid suit of armor appeared out of thin air before the two of them. The armor still bore some traces of damage, but it couldn’t hide the powerful magical aura it emitted.
"Eh? The Destroyer armor?"
Hela recognized the armor at a glance, raising an eyebrow in surprise: "This thing is actually in your hands?"
That’s right, this suit of armor was exactly Asgard’s Destroyer armor.
Back then, Loki had controlled this armor to go to Earth to hunt down Thor, but it was directly taken down by Darian piloting the BT Mecha, and he had picked it up along the way.
However, he had never known how to use the thing, so it could only sit in his game space gathering dust.
Darian said solemnly: "I saw it on the ground. I figured nobody wanted it, so I picked it up."
Hela curled her lip: "Who are you kidding? This is the armor Odin used to wear. It’s a magical creation forged from uru metal by Asgard’s top craftsmen, and it was later used to guard Asgard’s vault. How could such an important treasure be picked up by you so easily?"
Darian chuckled: "It really was. I don’t mind telling you, Loki was controlling this armor to kill Thor, but a kind-hearted passerby stepped in to help and knocked it down. I saw that neither of your two brothers wanted it anymore, so I took it."
"Brothers killing brothers... that old man Odin’s ability to raise children is as poor as ever."
Hela didn’t miss any chance to badmouth Odin, even at the cost of insulting herself; she was truly a ruthless person.
But she immediately cursed: "But those two spendthrifts actually treated the Destroyer armor like a toy, Throwing it away when they were done. It’s a complete waste of a treasure!"
The Destroyer armor wasn’t some ordinary treasure; it was one of Asgard’s most precious assets. No matter how wealthy Asgard was, they couldn’t forge many weapons this powerful.
And yet, the brothers Thor and Loki just discarded it after use, and it fell into Darian’s hands.
Darian, never one to shy away from stirring the pot, added another blow: "I forgot to tell you, not only did they discard the Destroyer, but they also broke Asgard’s Bifrost Bridge that same day."
"What!?"
Hela’s eyes widened suddenly, and she looked ready to kill someone.
The Bifrost Bridge was Asgard’s lifeblood. Not only did it connect the Nine Realms, but it also possessed planet-destroying power. It was the top strategic weapon of all Asgard.
And those two brothers destroyed that too!?
And on the same damn day!?
Hela gnashed her teeth in rage: "Those two spendthrifts! Once I get out, I’ll make sure they feel the ’love’ of their big sister!"
She had long considered all of Asgard her own property. Hearing Thor and Loki waste her things like that made her want to string the two brothers up and give them a thrashing.
Seeing Hela’s reaction, Darian offered a half-second of silence in his heart for the brothers Thor and Loki.
Whenever Hela managed to escape, those two brothers were going to be in deep trouble.
Darian brought the topic back and asked again: "So, how exactly do you use this thing?"
Hela suppressed the anger in her heart and explained: "This Destroyer armor is deeply bound to Odin. Normally, only he himself or the Eternal Spear in his hand can drive it. Unless you get the Eternal Spear, or directly erase the Odin mark on the Destroyer armor to make it ownerless."
Neither of these methods was possible for the current Darian.
If he could do that, he wouldn’t need to find Hela; he’d just go straight to Odin and have the man unlock the password for him.
Darian decisively skipped that and asked: "Isn’t there any other way?"
"There is."
Hela tilted her chin, her tone carrying a bit of mockery: "Just melt this Destroyer armor down and reforge it. It will be a brand new suit of Destroyer armor then, naturally becoming ownerless, and you can use it however you want."
"But don’t get your hopes up. It’s basically impossible. Even Asgard’s top craftsmen don’t have the skill to melt and recast Destroyer armor made of uru metal, let alone retain its original power after reshaping it."
She said this on purpose.
Darian had taken Asgard’s treasure. Although she didn’t plan to take it back, she didn’t want Darian to have it so easily either. She wanted him to know the solution but be helpless to do anything, forced to watch as the treasure remained unusable.
To her surprise, after Darian heard this, his eyes instantly lit up: "You mean, as long as it’s melted, Odin’s binding can be removed?"
Hela was stunned by his reaction and nodded subconsciously.
"Yes, theoretically that’s how it is."
"Then it’s easy!"
Darian chuckled and pulled an Ultron Robot out of his game warehouse, along with a stone carved with special symbols.
[Item: Fusion Stone (Can fuse two pieces of equipment together. The result after fusion is unknown and irreversible)]
He had actually thought about using BT to try it, but the result of this stone’s fusion was too unpredictable. If BT was melted away or became unrecognizable, he would suffer a huge loss.
But with the Ultron Robot, he had no such concerns. This was just a sub-system of Ultron, without the core program inside. Even if it was destroyed, he could just have Ultron build another one. There would be no loss at all.
Darian didn’t hesitate and used the Fusion Stone directly on the Ultron Robot and the Destroyer armor.
In an instant, the Fusion Stone in his hand lit up with a dazzling white light. The light grew brighter and brighter, and in the blink of an eye, it enveloped both the Ultron Robot and the Destroyer armor.
Immediately after, the ball of white light began to slowly contract inward. The two blurry shadows inside the light cluster moved toward each other, as if being squeezed together by an invisible hand. Finally, the light shrank into a small ball and then slowly dispersed.
As the white light gradually faded, a brand-new figure appeared before the two of them.
It was still humanoid, but a head shorter than the original Destroyer armor, looking more compact and capable.
The original silver-gray metal surface had turned dark silver. The main body was a tall and straight humanoid mecha structure, with a burly physique and rugged lines. The broad shoulders and narrow waist, paired with the sharp contours of the armor, gave it an overall balanced and powerful feel.
In its chest was embedded a glowing blue core, very similar to the Ark Reactor on the Ultron Robot’s chest, but the light was brighter and the energy fluctuations were even stronger.
Centering on this core, a large number of blue-green fluorescent energy pathways extended out like glowing circuits, spreading slowly along the chest, shoulder plates, arms, and legs. The patterns were in a geometric, high-tech line style, standing out exceptionally on the deep black metal armor.
[Equipment: ultron armor]
[Description: A combination of an Ultron Robot and the Destroyer armor. Built-in super artificial intelligence Ultron. Possesses certain transformation abilities, high-speed flight, and can release destruction beams. Simultaneously possesses extremely high strength and defense, capable of resisting both physical and magical attacks. Can be worn or automatically controlled. Driving and repairing it consumes the user’s Mana]
[Comment: A perfect product of the fusion of technology and magic. It is recommended not to appear in front of Odin if possible, as it is easy to get beaten up]
"Holy crap!?"
Darian’s eyes went wide.
The result of this fusion was much stronger than he had imagined.
Not only did it combine all the advantages of both, but it could actually be worn directly.
Hela, beside him, was equally stunned, her mouth slightly open, the shock in her eyes impossible to hide.
The Destroyer armor actually fused with that robot?
Darian couldn’t wait to step forward. As soon as he approached the ultron armor, he saw the surface of the armor automatically split open. Then, a slight suction came, and the armor directly adhered to his body.
The originally over two-meter-tall armor slowly reduced in size as it adhered, precisely adapting to Darian’s height and fitting snugly on his body, as if it were custom-made specifically for him.
Darian moved his limbs and didn’t feel restricted by the heavy armor at all; it was as light as wearing a jacket.
At the same time, he could feel the ultron armor constantly drawing his Mana, and his whole body radiated a powerful magical force.
Darian felt an itch to try it out, like someone who just bought a hammer and sees everything as a nail.
He raised a finger and pointed at Hela, provocatively saying: "Come at me!"
Hela’s face darkened, and her short temper flared up instantly.
"I’ll come!"
With a wave of her right hand, a black blade was instantly grasped in her hand. A wave of air suddenly exploded around her, and she charged at Darian like a cannonball!
Darian didn’t dodge or evade, raising his arm to block in front of him.
Clang!
The blade hacked fiercely into his forearm, sending out a shower of sparks.
Darian looked down at his arm; not even a white mark was left on the armor’s surface. This defensive power was simply maxed out.
"Awesome."
Darian grinned.
He raised his right hand toward Hela, and a blinding blue light suddenly lit up in his palm, with terrifying energy fluctuations surging wildly.
Boom—!!
A scorching energy beam blasted out!
Hela had already felt that energy fluctuation; her eyelids jumped, and she quickly dodged to the side.
The beam almost grazed her shoulder, and the heat wave singed the hair on one side of her head, giving her a free perm.
Boom!
The energy pillar slammed straight into the distant rock wall, punching a large hole right through it. The edges of the hole were covered in charred melt marks, still sizzling with heat.
Seeing this scene, Darian was quite satisfied in his heart.
This power was no less than the Destroyer Loki had controlled back then; it just consumed a bit too much Mana.
Hela touched her freshly made ’big waves’ and glared fiercely at Darian: "You bastard! Today I’m definitely going to sit on you!"
Before her voice had even faded, her hands shook, and a dense swarm of black blades emerged, shooting toward Darian like a covering of the sky.
Darian took to the air, flying directly into mid-air. The right gauntlet of the armor then bulged and transformed, turning into a machine gun in an instant. Countless energy bullets poured out, blasting the black blades before him into fragments.
The black blades in Hela’s hands danced rapidly, blocking the incoming bullets. She kicked off the ground with force, her whole body exploding upward as she swung her sword at Darian.
Darian clenched his left fist, which was quickly covered in a layer of crystal-clear ice, and smashed a punch into Hela’s face.
Boom!
Hela instantly crashed, slamming heavily into the ground and kicking up a cloud of shattered stone and dust.
She quickly stood up from the pit, spat out a mouthful of bloody water, and laughed crazily, her fighting spirit blazing.
"Again!"
