Chapter 849: Shaking the Heavens with One Hand (Part 2)
Within the Holy Domain, all living beings are equal!
One strike of the Holy Spear, nothing survives!
These words are by no means an exaggeration, if anything, they are a bit humble.
When over a hundred azure Holy Spears, each a hundred meters long, come hurtling toward you like falling meteors,
A friendly piece of advice, you’d better have your dog tag in your mouth along with anything else that can prove your identity, then close your eyes and wait for death. And in your next life, remember, try not to ever run into an attack of this level again.
In that instant, Ikaris had an illusion.
Those enormous azure spears were no different from the orbital bombardment of a cosmic battleship!
But his senses only lasted that long, for the next second he was engulfed by an infinite ocean of energy. The earth-shaking roar shattered his eardrums, and the azure light swallowed every last thing before his eyes.
BOOM!!!
The might of that strike shook heaven and earth, as if to destroy the world.
The blizzard and gales filling the sky and ground were instantly shattered by the azure light beam shooting into the sky.
The thunderous roar resounded through heaven and earth, deafening to all. The hundred-plus giant spears, unstoppable in their city-crushing, earth-splitting power, effortlessly tore open the ground, layer after layer of the surface collapsing into the depths where magma lurked.
The overwhelming spiritual power poured out like a mighty river, wave after wave called forth by an unfathomable force, surging in all directions with brutal, domineering momentum. The terrifying impact pulverized everything within its range.
No living thing could possibly survive, for even the very surface of the earth was completely annihilated by that strike.
Scalding magma erupted under the crushing force, flowing through countless cracks in the shattered land. Where the high heat clashed with the freezing air, choking sulfurous smoke rose, gathering into thick, leaden clouds high above, forming an apocalyptic scene.
Even hundreds of kilometers away,
On the battlefields where the war’s intensity had reached new heights, people could feel the earth’s wrath in the shaking of the ground.
As every combatant turned to look toward that pillar of light piercing the heavens, they involuntarily lowered their weapons, trembling from the depths of their souls, and instinctively knelt to pray.
This was divine punishment sent down from the heavens, and the heretics would meet annihilation.
Thousands of kilometers away, several people saw the disturbance in that direction and their expressions instantly changed.
"That’s where Ikaris is!"
A woman, face stricken with horror, shouted to her companions, "He’s in danger! We have to go save him!"
"Makkari, we need you to support Ikaris!" Another woman, dressed in resplendent clothes and holding a scepter radiating authority, turned quickly to the girl beside her. "The rest of us will be right behind you, go ahead and see what’s happening."
Makkari nodded, then made a sign in sign language to indicate she understood.
The next second, the mute Black girl placed one arm forward, one arm back, ready to sprint.
Whoosh!
In the blink of an eye, she vanished from where she stood, leaving behind only a golden streak of afterimage.
Her speed had far surpassed the limits of human eyesight, and shockingly, there was no sonic boom. She was nearly at the speed of light itself, disappearing beyond their line of sight in less than a second.
...
Across the broken earth, magma flowed.
Volcanic ash released a thick sulfur smell, black clouds covered the sky, lightning flashed in the swirling vortex above, and thunder boomed deafeningly.
After the massive eruption of underground magma, the frigid climate nearby had changed.
The storm still raged, but its violence and intensity had risen severalfold, like a giant tornado ravaging the land. The blizzard had vanished in the intense heat, replaced by a haze thick with impurities and dust.
The toxic gases and ash were so dense that an ordinary person would choke to death after just a single breath.
"Cough... cough..."
At the crumbling fissure by the edge of the lava, a violent coughing suddenly echoed.
The man slowly descended from midair, walking to the edge of that fissure. He lowered his head to peer inside.
The once arrogant and overbearing Eternal, Ikaris, now had no trace of his lofty pride. His battle suit was tattered like a beggar’s rags, large portions of his skin charred black, with one arm and one leg missing entirely. His appearance could only be described as utterly miserable.
"You’re still alive?"
The man’s brow lowered slightly, as if dissatisfied with the result.
At the bottom of the pit, Ikaris seemed angered, turning his head to cough out a large mouthful of blood mixed with shredded internal organs. The once sharp and intimidating eyes had now dulled, his pupils nearly unfocused, filled with terror.
If not for the suit’s exceptional defensive power, he would have already ceased to exist,
Just like those mask-wearing monsters created to devour humans, completely obliterated the instant the giant spear struck, erased from the soul level with not a single trace left behind.
"Farewell, Eternal."
The man extended a single finger, a bright azure glow condensing at the tip.
"Remember this in your next life, meddling comes at a price."
"No... you can’t kill me!"
Ikaris’ pupils contracted, the shadow of death enveloping him as he shouted in horror,
"We Eternals serve the Celestials! If you kill us, the Supreme Celestial Arishem will erase the entire Earth!"
Unfortunately, the only answer he received was an azure arrow of light.
As for this "Supreme Celestial Arishem" Ikaris spoke of, he had no idea who that was, nor did he care about such threats.
If there truly existed such a powerful Celestial who insisted on destroying Earth, it would hardly be to avenge him.
Just as the azure light arrow was about to strike Ikaris, a golden streak suddenly tore through the smoke. With astonishing speed, it scooped up the heavily wounded Ikaris and appeared a hundred meters away.
Narrowly escaping death, Ikaris’ heart pounded and his breathing quickened, only to quickly realize something. Grabbing the girl’s hand, he shouted anxiously,
"Run! Run, Makkari, we’re no match for it!"
Makkari froze for half a second, seemingly not understanding his words.
But the next moment, she suddenly heard a light, airy voice by her ear,
"Trying to run now? Don’t you think it’s a little too late?"
As Makkari turned her head, she saw a slender, crystal-white hand slowly descending from above.
An almost suffocating pressure poured down from the sky like a tidal waterfall, filling the entire space with overwhelming spiritual pressure. An endless tide of energy gathered within that hand, pressing down upon them.
Her face changed instantly, she could feel the intense danger.
In almost the same instant, she hugged the gravely injured Ikaris, intending to flee at superspeed.
However... reality proved utterly hopeless.
The moment she took a step, she found her legs impossibly heavy, as if trapped in the supergravity of a white dwarf star. Her speed was severely limited, forget superspeed, she couldn’t even run.
That jade-white, slender hand gently pressed on the top of her head.
A crisp crack of breaking bones rang out. That seemingly light touch carried the power to split mountains and shatter the earth.
Boom!
Spirit power surged like a bursting dam straight into the crown of her head, instantly flooding through every part of her body, bones, muscles, every limb.
Blood gushed from all seven of her orifices. Her pupils dilated several times over, then slowly rolled back to show only the whites. With her bones and muscles pulverized, she lost all strength, collapsing limply before Ikaris.
One of the Eternals, the speedster Makkari, confirmed dead.
