"Hey, Beat, it's time to go home -!

My father, who finished his tour around the village, picked me up. Is it that time already?

The sun is still in the western sky, but life goes to sleep as soon as the sun goes down. I have to go home early, have dinner and wipe my body.

Yeah, well, it turns out that this world too, the sun rises from the east and sets to the west. No matter how much fantasy, you can rest assured that it seems to hold it down as a basics there. From the west the sun was not Cognachiwa. That's all right.

"Okay - I'll do it now -.

When I get up and dust my pants, I go all the way to the creek that flows through the field and wash my hands.

In addition to its use as agricultural water, this creek is an aorta of life that is also used for laundry and water bathing. Not much water, about 4m wide. The depth is about on my lap at the deepest point, so it won't even be 30 cm.

The water is clear and cold there, but not for drinking. Drinking water uses a separate well.

"You like beauty.

Dad says, grinning bitterly as if he was a little shuddered.

"Because when it tastes good, it doesn't taste good.

Well, it's really a hygiene issue. I'm putting it through because it would just be seen with strange eyes to say that to people in this world, so it's easy to understand and like and dislike.

"... you know, I'm gonna wash you, too. So, I'll just be a minute.

Oh, okay, that's a good trend. If hygiene concepts were entrenched, infant mortality would also fall. Hand wash alone should be quite different. Anyway, it's a world without a bath or soap.

The word hygiene came up, and I'm sorry about the cage, but let's talk about the toilet situation in this world.

I've heard a lot about manure drooling in medieval Europe, but I thought this world might be at that level, too. Certainly not yet in the local cities, but this village is different.

In all, there are about 20 houses built in this village, but all have toilets. It's a so-called potton-style, but unlike that in Japan, I don't collect it in fat chunks. Anything that falls into the dirt tank is basically left intact. If you do that, it's going to be full and it's going to be a big deal, but it's fantasy there.

Oh, my God, there's a slime in the dirt tank.

This slime is called 'Maddie Slime' and is said to be a forest cleaner. Unusual among demons, none are aggressive and not dangerous at all.

It usually lives near the waterfront of the forest, feeding on animal carcasses, excreta and dead plants. And what you eat breaks down into small amounts of water and soil, so to speak, a blemish in the fantasy world.

Thanks to this slime, the dirt tank doesn't even smell that good. However, the soil excreted by the slime itself accumulates gradually, so it will still be full after a few years. At that time, he said he would dig a new dirt tank elsewhere and relocate the toilet. The slime itself seems to be moving to the new toilet at some point.

The soil accumulated in this dirt tank is nutrient-rich and is fertilized by being scattered in fields that have lost ground power. What an ecological and fantastic story.

Let's also talk about 'paper' that you can't cut with a toilet. It's philosophical that you can't cut it even though it's paper. Somehow.

There are always a few 'certain' shrubs growing at the end of the house in this village. At first glance, it looks like a young tree with a twig (biwa), but it only extends to about 2m in length and does not add edible fruit.

This tree is called the Zubari 'Paper Tree' as it is, and this leaf of the tree is used for butt wiping. Its leaves, which resemble jaws, contain fiber and are very durable. Nevertheless, it is hard to use as it is.

This nut, which I said was not edible earlier, but when the crushed fruit and the leaves are soaked together in water overnight, the green part of the surface of the leaves dissolves and softens. Its appearance, with only white fiber remaining, is either non-woven or tissue. And then I washed it with water. I layered it with dozens of pieces, put heavy stones on it, drained the water, and if it dried 1-2 days on a nice day, it would be the completion of natural toilet paper.

What a convenient plant, I think, but this may also be an ant considering it is the result of choosing to symbiote with people.

For the record, taking dozens of these leaves every day can still be the only job my kid can do.

So it was a much better environment than I expected when it came to the bathroom. Regarding the urban toilet situation, and sooner or later.

"Then go home and eat potatoes.

"Yeah!"

I've been washing my hands. I'm holding hands with my dad, and I'm going home. Let's just say it's been a pretty meaningful day.

I don't think this is a bad life, but there's only one thing I can't stand. Dinner.

I think it's nutritious. The potatoes are sweet and delicious, and some vegetables can be picked in the field. It's an occasional demon coming out of the woods, and I can take just a little protein. Well, demons are dangerous, so when they come out, they make a fuss, but I don't deny that some of my emotions are the expectation that I might be able to eat meat.

The spices are surprisingly abundant and similar to peppers, ginger and chili peppers, as well as some herbs not known by their names, are also grown in the village.

but there is no salt.

There is no alcohol and vinegar, but I don't need alcohol because I am a child, and vinegar has sour vegetable squeeze juice as a substitute.

It seems that this village is located quite inland, quite far from the sea. For this reason, the salt has to be bought from the occasional pedestrians and is always in short supply. Moreover, this merchant cannot purchase large quantities of goods because he is a private business owner, and because of the fact that he has to hire escorts, the price of salt is very high.

The cuisine in this village tastes as thin as a sushi to save less salt and not make a pedestrian athlete who doesn't know when to come. The brown sugar that can be picked from the juice of forest potatoes is used more frequently.

I wish I could pick it with rock salt, but it doesn't mean it's a dry zone, so the deposits are not in close proximity.

That's why after a meal of missing vegetable soup and boiled potatoes again today, I go for a water bath to the creek where I washed my hands.

The sun still hangs on the horizon.

Hmm? That's weird.

"Hey Toshi, what's wrong with you?

Clearly less water than when I washed my hands before dinner. It should have even been near my knee, but now it's about mid tibia. And it's a little cloudy.

"Oh, my God, what is it? What's going on up in the river?

He also wondered about his father. I washed my hands with you. Looks like we're going to talk to the village chief.

But I don't know, I feel bad about something.
