Me, Hydra

I, Hydra, chapter 31.

If this guy showed up in Scandinavia now, he'd have been tied to a cross by the Demon Hunters organization and started researching....

"Good thing the world isn't full of deranged demon hunters..."

As he said that, Gerald came to the man.

And the figure revealed his true face, all dark blue, with eyes burning white, and a strange elephant emblem that seemed to be inscribed in the middle with the Rune of Lune.

"The Mad Believer?..." asked Gerald as he thought, "Do you know how to get to the Great Shrine? I am a messenger sent by the Great God Odin."

At the words, the blue figure looked at the Jellot in front of him, his eyes were brightly without a glint, but Jellot felt like he was being looked at from the inside out.

After a wordless silence the blue figure shook his head.

"Just call me Raze, the Great God of Hydra is not in the city right now, so if you don't mind you can look elsewhere first and I can be your guide."

"That would be greatly appreciated."

Nodding, Raze said matter-of-factly.

"It doesn't matter, Spartan Prime was built bit by bit under my nose... After being out for so long, I need to get acquainted with this place of my rebirth..."

As he spoke, Raze's palm touched the side of the wall. The Sphinx is near Thebes, which is near Thebes, which is only a Corinthian city away from Sparta, and will soon arrive in Sparta after getting ready for the "zigzagging leap".

As he thought to himself, Raze shook his head helplessly.

His own teacher, the great wise man known as the Prophet, was the one who had propagated Hydra's thought, "If the gods are willing to stop evil, why can't they do it? Then it's not omnipotent. If he can do it, why doesn't he? Then he is manifestly evil. What if he could and would? Then where does the evil in the world come from? What if he can't and won't? Then why do you call him God?"

The priests, the elders of the Athenian temple, had been sentenced to death.

The charge was "spreading rumors to compel the youth of Athens".

"Now that I think about it, the teacher should have foreseen his fate..."

Shaking his head, Raze perked up, his teacher was dead now, but he already knew his spirit.

"People are chanting for heroes, but they don't know that the real heroes have fallen to sleep... it's sad... don't you think? Travelers from foreign lands..."

At the words, Gerald's eyes startled, then nodded quietly and wordlessly.

Explain Pandora's Box.

I saw a reader in the inter-post saying that Pandora's Box appeared at the wrong time, so I'll explain here ha.

Pandora was the wife of Prometheus' brother, who was called Epimetheus. He was one of the most foolish gods in Greek mythology, and was called the "Hindsighted One", which means, as the name implies, hindsighted.

Prometheus gave his brother a magic box filled with disease, plague, pain, despair, desire, torture, and a host of other negative emotions, and repeatedly told him never to open it. Then the repeated instructions aroused Pandora's curiosity, and while her husband was away, Pandora opened the box.

It turned out that there wasn't what Pandora was expecting, but rather the aforementioned negative emotions as well as germs. Before Pandora opened the box, mankind was free of any calamities and lived a peaceful life. And this is precisely because all the viruses and maladies were kept in the box and due to Pandora's curiosity, disasters and plagues escaped, and since then, there will always be people in the world who are unhappy and sick, and people who are pure and good have developed negative emotions such as greed and infatuation.

And, of course, there is the legend that Prometheus told his brother not to accept gifts from anyone, and then... Epimetheus forgot about it....

He received Pandora gladly, and then Pandora opened the box a moment before it was about to be handed over to Epimetheus.

The disaster inside flew out like a plume of black smoke and spread quickly to the ground. But Pandora, following the warning of Zeus, the father of all gods, closed the lid before it flew out, so the "hope" that Athena had placed at the bottom of the box to save mankind was locked inside forever.

One thing both legends have in common is that they were both done before Prometheus stole the sacred fire, which means that in terms of timeline, Prometheus is now being pecked inside-out by the Caucasian god-eagle (a vulture, for one thing), meaning that Pandora's Box has taken place in the hundred years since Hydra's slumber.

Also, there's a shift in the evening.

But I guess you won't see it until morning....

Also, less balanced words in the comments section and more meaningful book reviews would make for a more comfortable reading experience.

Volume 1: Text-41 - Return to Sparta

"I once heard from the great god Hydra that the Norse median does not have a city in the traditional sense of the word, but is mostly made up of one tribe after another. Honestly, your point seems a bit unbelievable in Sparta first."

As he spoke Raz opened the Great Codex of Sparta in his hands.

"Power, glory, martyrdom, valor, class, soul, honesty, cruelty, simplicity, knowledge. This is the Spartan Ten Commandments, a brand engraved in the soul of every man in the city of Sparta. The city of Sparta has profound statutes, but the truth is that they are not generally used. For all their enmity goes to the ring."

"...In a sense...you're not as good as our tribe there..."

Shaking his head as he looked at the sky at sunrise, Gerald shrugged his shoulders.

"How about we find a tavern for a while. It's already noon."

At the news, Raze readily agreed.

"Of course, speaking of which, it's been a while since I've tasted Spartan-style barbecue. Tender, juicy red muffled bear paws taste so good, and with the special seasoning, you can't get that stuff out there."

"Why? Once you get the spices right, that stuff should be easy to work with, right?"

Shaking her head, Raz calmly stated.

"How do you make bear paws there?"

"Well...burn the wool clean, then wash it once and roast it straight..."

As he said it, the more Gerald said it, the less he had to say, because this was just too sketchy by any stretch of the imagination. But it was in keeping with the Nordic Viking tribe....

Shaking her head, Raz calmly stated.

"This bear paw is also divided into three or six classes, the bear's hind paw you will find that no matter how cleanly rinsed you eat it, there will be a faint fishy smell, and the bear's hind paw pattern recognition is low, although it is a few centimeters more than the front paw, but the paw surface is narrow, it is low grade. Then there's the front paw, the front paw is small, but the palm flower is obvious, there's more gum than the back paw, and the palm surface is wide and meaty and fragrant, the smell is a bit fishy, but not ugly, a good chef can hide the fishy smell perfectly."

"That top grade..."

"Or a bear's front paw. When a bear hibernates, it uses one paw to block its anus, and the other paw is placed in front of its mouth. This year's left paw, next year's right, will be the right paw, so there is no mistake. The paw must be plump and moist, and the paw must not be eaten after the harvest, but must be kept for at least a year. Otherwise the bear can't get rid of the fishy smell."

"...Why do you know so much about this stuff?"

At the words, Raz was visibly startled, then shook his head indifferently.

"Pinch don't look at me like that, I'm over a hundred years old, I was the administrator of this city before that, and I'm not lying, can you see that fifty years ago this was just a primitive tribe that was so broken that it didn't even have roads? Yet that's how he is, and in the fifty years since Lord Hydra awoke, man and beast have lived in harmony, each to his own. For me, this is my child...and as a parent, would you not know your child?"

As he spoke, Raze beckoned.

"Come with me, I know a shop that's famous for being known only to old people."

At the news, Gerald shrugged his shoulders.

"Do you play the Quint?"
