Me, Hydra

I, Hydra, chapter 37.

Talking to herself, Hydra stroked her chin, knowing that Charon was famous as a Greek hero down, and eighty percent of the great heroes throughout Greek mythology had been taught under Charon's tutelage. One could imagine with one's heels that Zeus would absolutely die watching over the guy who was still his brother in name only....

As she thought about it, Hydra shook her head sadly. Taking a look at the sleeping cyborgs around him.

"Eight mop-ups in the opening round, talent all over the pit..."

Volume I: Text-49 - Ships of Amazons

On the Aegean Sea, a cargo ship engraved with the emblem of Amazons was wandering on the sea. Because it was protected by the god of war, Ares, it didn't encounter any sea beasts on the way. After all, there were so many ships coming and going, there was no need to offend one of the twelve main gods of Olympus just to fight tooth and nail.

Although the followers Ares possessed were among the rarest of those gods, it couldn't be helped that Ares was the god of war, and in terms of force alone Ares wasn't guilty of any sea monsters and sea beasts.

"Mother, why did we leave the Amazon and then cross the ocean to Sparta, ten thousand miles away?"

At the news, the Amazon Queen doted on Hippolyta's little head.

"Silly child, we live in the middle of the jungle, almost cut off from human civilization. Your father could not shelter you forever. The Amazons' method of breeding is to prey on the men of other clans or adopt abandoned babies, which is not the way to perpetuate a race after all. Sparta had a radiant civilization, and Sparta also had an army that topped almost all of Greece. Only with a culture can a race truly survive in this world...the jungle...is not where civilization should be born after all..."

As she said that, the Amazon Queen's voice also carried a bit of desolation.

Immediately, the Amazon Queen suddenly settled on a look.

"By the way, child, you must be careful of a fellow named Hercules, who is after your belt. He must not be allowed to get it!"

Warm-eyed, Hippolyta nodded.

"Don't worry mother! I'll take care of the belt!"

As they spoke, the great wheel at their feet suddenly heeled over.

Gripping the side rail, Hippolyta wondered aloud.

"What's wrong! Did you meet something?!"

On hearing this, a female warrior with a tightly bound chest said.

"We've encountered a sea monster! He's hitting the hull of our ship low!"

Not to mention, the tip of the spear was the poisonous teeth of the retreating head of Hydra space, once pierced by the spear, the spatial force hidden inside would instantly expand the wound by dozens of times. It was one of the most efficient means of dealing with such large sea beasts.

As for the name of the war spear... Well, it was maliciously called the Giant Slayer by Hydra.

Hippolyta's belt, as mentioned before, was one of the embodiments of the Ares Battle Banner, not only making Hippolyta invulnerable to fire and water, but also greatly strengthening Hippolyta's physical qualities.

With a glance at the sponge, Hippolyta had to jump without hesitation.

Combat from the forest was more suitable for Amazons' warrior women than naval combat, after all, they had grown up from the jungle since childhood. But even so, that didn't mean that Amazons' warrior women couldn't fight at sea, knowing that the way Amazons thrived was to set out to plunder from their port, Temeschira, by ship.

What struck the freighter was a huge seal, a gentle sea creature, but it was clear that the seal seemed to have been stimulated by what it was, and its body had been as long as five or six meters, and it had grown fangs and was covered with tentacles.

Quickly taking care of the so-called sea monster, Hippolyta quickly went back to wearing it, relying on the belt of the military god, the water stains on Hippolyta's body quickly disappeared.

"Why would a creature like a seal come and attack our ship? If I remember correctly they should be avoiding such ships when they see them, right?"

At the news, the Amazon Queen shook her head.

"Can you guess why, don't forget that the Peloponnese and Crete under Hydra was an existence that was rejected by the Olympian gods. In order to fight against Hydra, I guess it was Zeus and the others who made the creatures in the surrounding sea more aggressive... Don't forget, in a sense, Hydra has robbed Poseidon's territory, which is worse than killing them for the arrogant gods~! "

At the words, Hippolyta shook her head.

"But...if I remember correctly, Father is also a member of Olympus, right? Why would he want to help the enemies of Olympus?"

Shaking her head, the Amazon Queen pulled Hippolyta into her arms.

"You can't just take things at face value, your father has made great sacrifices for us and there are things that you will not understand now, nor do you need to. Until you are fully grown and able to stand on your own, we will protect you. Your father is the one who has given the most to our family, believe me, one day, you will understand him..."

As she said that, the Amazon Queen looked to the northwest, supposedly the entrance to the sacred mountain of Olympus.

Let's hope her husband will be alright....

As I thought about it, the Amazons' ship arrived at Sparta's port....

I've had to adjust my routine lately because school is about to start....

MDZZ, school starts on the 27th, that's way too early....

Volume I: Text - 50 - Mother-Daughter Recognition

The ship docked and Hippolyta stepped off the ship.

It was, and a sturdy young Spartan appeared before Hippolyta.

"May I ask if you are a member of the Amazons' clan?"

Nodding, Hippolyta readily replied.

"Yes."

At the words, the youth nodded.

"My name is Leonidas, please come with me if you don't mind, Sparta has prepared a feast for all of the Amazons."

Hearing Leonidas' words, Hippolyta looked behind her at her mother, then nodded.

"Of course, I hope this city-state will not disappoint me. Can you explain to me a little bit about the folklore of the Spartan city-state? Besides, are you the only one here?"

Hearing Hippolyta's question, Leonidas nodded somewhat awkwardly.

"Of course, it is my duty to explain the composition of Sparta to you all, and it is also the mission of my visit. As for that latter question...it seems that something has happened at that partner of mine's house, sorry..."

Shrugging her shoulders, Hippolyta was indifferent.

"No harm done~ Let's hit the road~"

As they did, Hippolyta's people were led by Leonidas towards the city-state of Sparta, which was not far away.

On the other side, Quintus returned to his home with Atalanta in tow.

Seeing Quintus return, a loving smile rose on Callisto's face, along with some surprise.

"Isn't it time for a patrol? Why are you back so soon today?"

As he said that, Callisto walked up to Quintus' body and took over Quintus' helmet.

It had been more than twenty years since he had come to Sparta, and Callisto had been very much favored by the goddess of hunting, Artemis, in his earlier years on Mount Olympus, and because of his earlier experiences, Callisto's physical qualities were far superior to those of ordinary people.
