Me, Hydra

I, Hydra, chapter 39.

"It's alright, you do your work, I'll take care of mother...men are unreliable."

Hearing Atalanta's declaration, Quintus tugged at the corners of his mouth.

"Reasonable...a guy like Zeus isn't much of a man at all, I guess..."

Shaking his head and looking at Atalanta who was concentrating on archery, Quintus shrugged his shoulders.

"For crossbows you can ask for Thor, he's from Norse and knows some pretty good dwarves, they fight pretty durable weapons. Just say my name when you see Thor, he won't say no~"

Hearing Quintus's words with a bit of pride, Atalanta glanced at the corner of her mouth disdainfully.

"Little kid, what's a cow for. No matter how bull you are, you still have to call me a sister."

Quintus, who was walking, heard Atalanta's words with a hasty foot and almost fell over.

After a glance back at Atalanta Quintus shook his head helplessly and continued walking towards the Spartan barracks.

The current self was still just an ordinary little captain, still a bit far from the Spartan Praetorian Guard, and in order to gain the power of the Godslayer, the current self still needed more refinement.

As he thought about it, Quintus touched his head.

Hair had been slow to grow lately, and there was no telling why.

"It's baffling...can't the scalp's follicles still be trained to die..."

As he spoke, Quintus quickened his pace

"Whew-"

Finishing his training, Thor wiped his sweat off with a towel.

Although the early spring weather was still a bit cold, but that didn't hinder the Spartan youth from exercising heroically.

Now it belonged to the rest time, Thor and Socrates had promised to go out, but the Spartan Great Library guarded by Socrates had become a bit busy due to the arrival of the Nordic scholars, so now Thor could only come to the small park by himself.

Call it a small park, but the park wasn't small at all. The park wasn't filled with unexpected flowers, trees, or stone sculptures, but rather with gym equipment after gym equipment, and many young Spartan soldiers besides Thor were working out here.

"Yo, Thor. Why did you suddenly stop~"

Hearing the voice of his comrade, Thor shrugged his shoulders.

"Nothing, just taking a break. You too, don't work out too much, it'll be more than worth it if you strain your muscles~"

"Hehe, how is that possible, look at the girls working out around you, you might be able to get a pretty daughter-in-law with a little more exercise now~"

As he said that, the young soldier pointed to the young woman who was doing her workout not far away.

Upon hearing that, Thor raised his eyebrows, then said in confusion.

"By the way, I'm confused about that. Maybe when there are more of these women? It's also all raw faces and not behaving like said daughter."

On hearing that, the young man grinned widely and said.

"So yah, Tor, you shouldn't be so involved in your training from now on. These women were immigrated here by Amazons. Does Amazons know that? It's a whole span of the Aegean Sea from us, and the women there are all placid and fierce, and that sinewy body is no more terrifying than our residents of Sparta."

"Then why did they join Sparta?"

There was some confusion in Thor's voice, much to the frustration of the youth on the other side.

"Or else the instructor always said that you were full of muscles and that great strength doesn't mean civilization is rich, didn't you say that you were from Northern Europe? I don't see any Nordic scholars coming in and out of the Great Library of Sparta nowadays."

At the news, Thor shrugged his shoulders.

"Culture is such a thing...it's enough to have my father, who is the wisest man in all of Northern Europe, believe me. He's much wiser than those so-called Nordic scholars. As for my cultural lessons... don't even bother with that kind of stuff, the most important thing for me right now is to make myself stronger and then fight those frost giants!

Hearing Thor's words, the young Spartan shrugged his shoulders.

"Suit yourself, but then again, with all the women in Sparta, you don't plan on finding a wife?"

At the words, a smile rose to the corner of Thor's mouth.

"Well, poor bachelor, but I already have a fiancée. Her name is Shiv, and her blonde hair is as radiant as the overwhelming wheat fields in the fall!"

At the words, the young Spartan scowled.

"Cut it out, damn life winner. No more chit-chat, I've got to get on with my big girl-grabbing business~"

As he said that, the soldier's youth left Tor's side on his own.

Watching the departure of this self-serving soldier, Tor shook his head helplessly.

On the other hand, disappearing from Tor's sight, that young soldier's face changed, from a cheerful face to a happy one in the beginning.

"I didn't expect Odin's old brother's son to change so much when he came here~~ Just like what big brother said~~ Sparta really is a fun place~~ As he said that, the young soldier's face began to gradually change. Soon, the soldier's face began to dissolve, and in a short while, the face became a face that Tor was very familiar with. Loki.

Loki could be said to be the god with the most nicknames in Norse mythology, such as: the Cunning Man, the Treacherous God, the Shapeshifter, the Liar, the Skywalker, the Air Traveler, and so on. Loki was clever and cunning, and although he was born to a tribe of giants who were enemies of the gods, he was still bound to Odin, the main god and god-king of the Asa clan, despite the fact that he was a brother to them.

It was for this reason that Loki became a member of the Asa Clan. He was initially half good and half evil, or rather his evil was not intentional, but merely unintentional. Or, simply out of mischief, Loki often helped the clan, such as tricking giants into building fairy palace walls and giving birth to eight-legged horses. He has been associated with many important treasures, the Great God Odin's Eternal Lance and Gathering Ring Dropnir, the God of Abundance, Frey's sacred ship Skidpratne and mount Gurimbristi, Shiv's golden hair, and Thor's Thor's hammer, all of which Loki asked the dwarves to build or bet with them to obtain during the Shiv's Fateful Event, offering them to the gods as compensation for his mischief.

The so-called "Shiv's Hair Incident" was when Loki shaved off Shiv's hair while she was sleeping, which made Thor very angry. Loki then asked the Dwarves to make the above-mentioned weapons as compensation.

But even so, Loki still wasn't treated well by the gods, and just as the nearest wall broke open, Loki couldn't wait to seal his divine power to have fun in the land called Sparta.

As he was thinking about it, the yellow earth in front of Loki suddenly coalesced into a human form.

"Hello, Nordic friend, interested in coming to my great shrine? At least let me do my duty as a landlord~"

"Well...can I say no?"

"Can't."

"Cut, boring... Eh eh eh, wait wait wait, can't I go!"

As he said that, Loki walked towards the direction of the Great Shrine with a languid face.

"Really... where's the fun in chatting about screwing around..."
