Chapter 2504 - 2480: Awaiting Orders at Any Time

He never expected Alexander to contact him because of guns; if he had known earlier, Gao Yang would have reached out to Alexander proactively.

Nate had a point—if people can’t fully utilize the capabilities of a weapon, then it’s meaningless. But this is true for ordinary people, not for those who seek extreme performance or the few who can harness a weapon’s full potential.

Gao Yang belongs to the type who pursues weapon extremes and is among the few who can fully utilize a weapon’s capabilities.

Too bad Gao Yang had no idea what impressive gun Alexander had come up with; he was feeling restless, so he took out his satellite phone and said to Nate, "Wait a moment, I’m going to call Alexander."

Nate glanced at his watch, then downed his coffee in one gulp, and said indifferently, "I’m done with my coffee."

"Um, what’s the matter?"

"I said after I finish my coffee, I’d take you to meet those Missile Troopers."

"Give me a moment, it won’t take long, just a phone call."

"Usually, in such cases, you end up talking for a long time, and most importantly, I don’t like changing plans. I’ve finished my coffee, so I want to take you to meet the Missile Troopers now. If you want to call Alexander now, you have to reschedule with me or give up meeting the Missile Troopers. Your choice."

Gao Yang put down the satellite phone he had taken out and said to Nate, "Buddy, did anyone ever tell you that you’re really an unreasonable and insufferable jerk, have they?"

"No one has ever said that, no one dares."

"Well then, let me tell you, Nate, you truly are an unreasonable and insufferable jerk."

Despite feeling annoyed, Gao Yang put away his phone and said to Nate, "Let’s go now, according to your plan, take me to see those Missile Troopers."

Nate stood up, flashed a victorious smile at Gao Yang, then turned and walked away.

For Nate’s obduracy, or possibly because Nate wanted to forcefully set an obstacle for him, Gao Yang truly had no other options. If he insisted on making the call, Nate would really refuse to take him to meet others, so Gao Yang had to follow suit.

Nate drove himself, in a particularly old military jeep.

After Gao Yang sat in the passenger seat, Nate slowly drove the broken jeep away from the command post.

About twenty minutes of driving later, Nate took Gao Yang to a run-down apartment building, its exterior already marked with shell craters, and most of the glass was shattered.

Nate didn’t explain what the building’s purpose was to Gao Yang; he simply went straight inside after parking. Just as he was about to enter the building, Gao Yang noticed that Wizard had somehow arrived in advance.

"Everyone has gathered, they’re waiting inside."

Returning a military salute to Wizard, Nate said in a low voice, "I’ll take over here, you can return to the command post."

Wizard nodded to Gao Yang, then drove away on his own.

The two entered the building, then walked into a large room filled with chairs.

The room was arranged like a simple meeting room, capable of accommodating over a hundred people, but there were only about twenty individuals seated inside. Upon seeing Nate enter, those originally seated stood up and saluted Nate.

After solemnly returning the salute, Nate said in a deep voice, "Please sit down, I’ll introduce the reason for gathering you here. Next, he will talk to you about some matters. Whether he talks individually or collectively, please cooperate. Everything that happens today is highly confidential, so whether you agree or refuse, keep everything heard inside this room. After leaving, don’t mention anything that happened here to anyone."

After saying a few simple words, Nate nodded at Gao Yang, then turned and left. He even shut the door on his way out.

Standing in front of the seated group, Gao Yang lightly coughed twice, then said to the people before him in a deep voice, "Let me introduce myself. My name holds no significance to either me or you, so you can call me Mr. A. As for my identity, you can regard me as KGB."

The seated crowd was slightly uneasy; though no one spoke, some involuntarily shifted their positions, which betrayed their inner anxiety and shock.

Gao Yang spread his hands and said in a deep voice, "Many of you likely recognize each other, so you should understand each other’s identities. Without me saying more, you should know my task is to find some Missile Troopers."

A young-looking person suddenly raised his hand, then said with a hint of excitement, "Mr. A, is it to deal hard with those bastards in Western Ukraine? Is that it?"

Gao Yang had spent so much time with Black Demon that, even though he wasn’t KGB, he understood a lot about KGB and how they operated.

Expressionless, with genuine indifference, Gao Yang slowly said, "Without permission, no questions allowed."

After saying it coldly, Gao Yang gestured with his hand and said, "All of you were once military personnel. Now, please tell me your names, ranks, and specific roles, starting from the highest rank. Begin now."

A man who appeared to be in his fifties raised his hand and stood up, saying in a deep voice, "Dmitry Matvey, Donetsk person, fifty-five years old, Central Direct-Report Strategic Rocket Forces 47th Combined Arms Area Training Center, rank of Lieutenant Colonel, position deputy director, technical instructor."

Gao Yang nodded, indicated Dmitry to sit down, then the second person stood up, even though wearing civilian clothes, he naturally saluted Gao Yang, then raised his head and said loudly, "Niva Nikolayevich, Guards Sevastopol Missile 37th Division 2nd Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel deputy regimental commander, RSD-10 missile launch technical officer, my unit reached missile contact and alert status in 1991, the regiment disbanded in 1992, and the division was abolished in 1993."

As Niva briefly recounted his history, he spoke with remarkable passion, and midway through his recount, he exuded extreme anger and reluctance. After finishing his resume loudly, he placed his hand down and declared, "Niva Nikolayevich is ready for summons anytime!"

Gao Yang raised his hand to return the military salute, but remained with a stern expression and said, "Please sit down, next."
