Chapter 1294: Star Gazing Booth
Getting to their rooms, everyone looked around a bit, then nodded as they all searched for any type of spying mechanism or whatever, one could never be too careful. After all, some of these Inns were shameless and dubious.
But none of them had any intentions of remaining within the Inn, they all wanted to explore, after all, it was everybody’s first time within the Original Night Territory.
As they all gathered in the hallway to leave together, Chaos Betroth spoke, "The Underground Tomb would be opening in two days, so you all only have today to do whatever you want, tomorrow you all will stay within the Inn, and the day after tomorrow we would head to the location together," she instructed.
"Yes, Core Elder," they replied calmly and began to walk down the stairs.
There was no elevator or lift in this age, but what were a couple of staircases to cultivators? But Anthony hated the stairs as someone who had grown up in an age of technology in both lives, so he stood on the railing and dropped from the fourth floor, his white hair and purple robe falling as he approached the ground and landed with a deft touch.
The other disciples jumped too the moment they saw Anthony jump, after all, who didn’t like the rush of wind against their faces as long as they could land safely?
With that, they walked out of the Inn, the world opening to them once more. The entire Territory had a hustle and bustle, as various sellers showed off their goods, trying to attract these foreign cultivators.
As Anthony walked, the thing that fascinated him the most was the various races. Centaurs could be seen walking as they laughed and discussed, some Kitsune walking too as they possessed various tails, some three, some five, their ears pointed, some pink, some pure white. Nagas could be seen slithering on the ground, their scales shining under the sunlight, their upper bodies Human.
Anthony saw a few Dragons, Phoenixes and Titans, but they were in the minority, clearly Ascendants like him, but obviously not from the Acarnis Galaxy.
There were Humans too, but Anthony had seen enough Humans in his life already. Onis walked with one or two horns extending from their foreheads. Fomorians also walked, their forms also titanic like Titans, they were also known for their insane endurance and craftsmanship.
Gargoyles flew through the air, not too high, but they flapped their wings and floated above the ground, as the River Of Night Territory didn’t permit flying across their airspace because of peace.
Gorgons walked, various snakes could be seen coiling through their bodies, as the hair on their heads was made of snakes that hissed at various people as they walked past. People immediately broke eye contact at the fear of turning into a statue.
It was truly a marvel, everyone coexisting in peace, each of them joking with one another. Something one could never see at the Blue Planet unless it was the Military.
Although Anthony had read about these races at the Heavenly Library, seeing them felt surreal.
"Amazed?" Lawrence asked as she saw Anthony’s fascinated expression.
"I’m enamoured," Anthony replied without denying the fact.
"You didn’t see any other races aside from Humans on your own Planet or Galaxy?" Lin asked as he stared at the ass of a passing Stormkin.
Anthony replied without missing a beat, "there are many races on my own birth Planet and Galaxy, but coexistence is a myth," his tone calm as he didn’t go into too many details.
Everyone nodded, not pressing as they knew now wasn’t the place nor the time to ask.
"So what are we doing first?" Noah asked as he walked with a calm expression.
Everyone fell into their thoughts, "well... we didn’t particularly come out to do anything, let’s just look around first," Oliver stated.
Everyone nodded as they had nothing specific to buy, and so they wandered from shop to shop, tasting local foods, not bothering with five-star cuisines as they could get that at their own Inns. And as cultivators, their appetite was immense, besides, it was just coins, not Origin Essence Stones.
As they were walking, Chu Feng suddenly stopped as he immediately changed his direction. Some of them wondered what had gotten into him as he hadn’t even explained what he was doing. But they simply followed, after all, they had nothing doing.
They arrived before a man who stood behind his wooden booth, basically a stall. As he saw these eleven cultivators approach his shop, he smiled and immediately spoke with a wide smile as though he had hit the jackpot.
"Welcome to my Star Gazing booth, we only sell to those destined to become Higher Ones, and I can see it," the man spoke as his eyes stayed on all eleven of them, "you all are destined to rule your generation and ages."
Everyone remained unreactive as though they were used to this, after all, sellers usually liked scamming people that weren’t from their Territory, once they made a big buck, they would immediately change their selling spot, to avoid and dodge the scammed customer who was definitely coming for a refund.
Seeing all of them not even blink at his words, the man coughed awkwardly as he asked.
"What do you need?" His tone calm.
Chu Feng stepped forward, his hand moving through various things as he spoke, "nothing in particular, I just like patronizing small businesses, it’s a way to increase my Positive Karma," he stated calmly.
"Hoo!!! You are definitely on the right path. If I had a son, I would definitely train him to follow your footsteps. In fact, I once dreamed of being a cultivator myself," his tone seemed to become sad a little bit, "but alas, it seems I wasn’t as diligent as you, and I didn’t have enough Positive Karma... a shame," he stated.
But as he spoke, everyone simply stared at him with a calm smile, they were simply amazed at this man’s slippery silver tongue.
Anthony’s lips curved upwards as he spoke.
"Then shouldn’t you give us these things for free, that way, you can gain Positive Karma, after all, according to you, all eleven of us are meant to rule our generation," he stated with a calm tone, "imagine the amount of Positive Karma you could gain, and not only that, the Karma would help with the bearing of your son, he might even possess the Destiny to rule an Era instead of a generation," his words so smooth as though he was helping the man.
The seller’s expression immediately twisted as he wondered where this handsome, devilish customer had come from. After all, this cultivator had used his own words against him, flipping the entire script. He couldn’t help but click his tongue.
But still, this wasn’t his first rodeo, having a silver tongue was his field, and there was no way he would let a cultivator take advantage of him.
"Sigh... while your words are true," he began to speak, "unfortunately I’m impotent and can’t get my wife pregnant, and the Positive Karma wouldn’t help me much, and besides," he sighed as he added, "I have a wife to feed, she has a terminal illness and I’m trying to save enough money to save her life," he added in a depressed tone, his acting skills hitting level max.
He knew very well that he wasn’t impotent, nor was he married. But alas, how could these cultivators know?
Hehehehe.
