Chapter 1290: The Path

What the Eternal Apex didn’t say was that she possessed a unique set of eyes that allowed her to see Destinies, Fortunes, and Fate. She named them the Eyes Of Unseen, simply because they allowed her to see what others couldn’t see.

With the Eyes Of Unseen, she had been able to stumble upon many Inheritance realms, avoid disasters, and avoid traps and ambushes before they happened. With this ability of hers, she had stepped into the Eternal Apex realm as smoothly as possible.

But one had to know that, as someone who was a member of the River Of Night Organization, she didn’t comprehend the Law Of Fate or anything of the sort, nor did she need to train her eyes, nor did she need to activate and deactivate them, as they were always activated and in a passive state.

Eternal Apex were called Pseudo-Higher Entity beings because they were always meant to leave the Ecliptica Galaxy and step into a higher plane to become a complete Higher Entity. But it wasn’t like ascension from the Lower Galaxy, where one received a Calling or a Beckoning; it was something else.

But for now, nobody knew how or what it was, as The Path to Full Metamorphosis had been cut off by those of the Old. It was the reason Eternal Apex also stepped into the Unknown and dangerous lands, in search of ways they could step into this higher plane.

She, like the rest of the other Eternal Apex, had tried looking for a way to restore The Path that had been cut off or blocked off, but they found nothing. They couldn’t even find out how The Path itself was cut off, as it seemed shrouded in too many secrets.

All Eternal Apex had consulted the man known as The Reader Of Mysteries, who had revealed when and where The Ungrounded Tomb was going to appear, as there was hardly anything that was hidden from his gaze.

But even he was lost, and he had suffered backlash. Hence, they had all gone back to square one, and The Reader Of Mysteries had decided not to touch upon matters concerning The Path ever again.

So, for millions of years, no Eternal Apex had left the Ecliptica Galaxy, and not only them, but all Upper Galaxies within the Universe.

But after healing, The Reader Of Mysteries had called all Eternal Apex back and told them to look for his own Master, the man who had turned him into The Reader Of Mysteries he was today. He had given them a name, his Master’s title, and his Master’s name.

Gazer Of The Beyond. Leon Georgi.

Of course, The Reader Of Mysteries had only done this because he was looking for his own Master, who vanished thousands of years ago and never showed himself again. The Reader Of Mysteries had heard his Master, Leon Georgi, talk about The Sealed Path once in passing when he was still a student. Hence, he was using that to make the entire Eternal Apex in existence search for the man. If they found him, The Reader Of Mysteries would reunite with his Master, while the Eternal Apex would gain the answers they sought. A win-win situation.

But alas, they’ve searched for thousands of years and found nothing, not even a record of the man, as though he didn’t exist. But for The Reader Of Mysteries to acknowledge him as his Master, they knew such a person could never be found easily, especially if he didn’t want to be found.

But that search was about to come to an end.

Throughout her time on the Wall, the Eternal Apex’s eyes had been lazily darting from one genius to the other as she read their Fate, Destinies, and Fortunes. Some shone bright golden in her eyes, showing they were people Destined and Fated for greatness, while some showed black, their deaths within The Sleeping Hollow imminent.

But she never stopped staring at each genius, after all, it was a habit she had cultivated right from her younger days.

But then, she sensed someone make a read on her cultivation rank, prompting her to stare in that direction. The moment she did, she immediately saw what her eyes had never seen before. A man without Destiny, Fate, or Fortune. It was as though her eyes rejected him entirely, as though he didn’t exist.

It was bizarre, after all, even things as ordinary as stone or pebble had a Destiny in her eyes.

Although she saw nothing, although she read nothing, her eyes told her that this was the man who would solve her problems. How? She didn’t know. When? She didn’t know. But her eyes had never been wrong, which was why she had made a move the moment she locked eyes with him.

Whether it was by restoring The Path or by finding The Gazer Of The Beyond, she didn’t care.

As for proposing the Eternal Half ritual, it was simply an idea that came to her the moment their eyes locked, as though her eyes and entire existence had suggested it. She knew that with him, she wouldn’t just become a Higher Entity; she knew that ranks existed above that, and with this man beside her, she would get to the absolute top easily.

She didn’t love Anthony, she didn’t know how old he was, and she didn’t care about his face. At this moment, she only made a move because the Eyes Of Unseen had said so.

It didn’t matter if the man before her had twenty women or a thousand, after all, men and women who had reached the top hardly kept to a single lover, so she wasn’t against the concept of a Harem.

But alas, our beautiful Eternal Apex was destined to fail. Anthony was someone who hated the concept and idea of having more than one partner. He would live with Vega and die with Vega, no one more, no one less.

So, he bowed again as he spoke respectfully.

"I’m sorry, Higher One," Anthony began to speak, but the Eternal Apex cut him off.

"Yelena, call me Yelena," she stated as she uttered her true name, which she hadn’t said or heard in years.

Anthony wasn’t one to argue, so he continued speaking, "I’m sorry, Yelena, but I’m not a lover of Harem."

Silence consumed the entire carriage as it rolled forward, while Chaos Betroth and the kneeling Above disciples watched Anthony reject an Eternal Apex for the second time. The fact that a Higher One had requested that he call her by her birth name shocked them even more.

Yelena’s eyes shifted towards Chaos Betroth and the Above disciples, then she spoke.

"According to the memories of your fellow disciples, your Null Sect doesn’t have an Eternal Apex," she stated as her eyes turned back to Anthony. "If you accept me, I will leave the River Of Night and join the Null Sect," she suggested as she went all in.

Although she might sound desperate, she didn’t care. Anyone who wasn’t an Eternal Apex and possessed an outrageous talent and abilities like hers and the other Eternal Apex wouldn’t want to remain locked in a place like this. After all, literally all Eternal Apex were extremely talented for them to even become Eternal Apex.

At her words, the entire carriage was filled with unadulterated silence as everyone was simply shocked to the core at what they had just heard.
