Chapter 637: Battlefield Situation
"M... Master Mentor..."
Ofemia instantly cowered and knelt before Loren:
"What brings you here?"
"There's a war raging outside, and here you are, taking it easy."
"Th-this... I..."
"Forget it, I'll stop teasing you. I came to ask you about some serious matters."
Ofemia's contrast was so striking that Loren instinctively wanted to tease her.
What she'd done wasn't really a big deal anyway, just taking a bath in milk that commoners couldn't afford to drink. At least she hadn't poured it out directly.
"What's the real situation with the war right now?"
Loren didn't waste much time and got down to business.
"Ever since you appeared, the intensity of the war has actually decreased.
"The Church doesn't dare go all out. They always have to keep part of their attention on you..."
When analyzing the situation, Ofemia reverted to her original demeanor, looking very serious and earnest, in full command, giving off an impression of reliability.
"Is that so..."
This wasn't what Loren wanted to see. The gods feared him more than he had imagined, so much so that they didn't dare fully unleash the Divine War.
"But there are exceptions. The Church of Light and Fire has gone even more insane instead. Ever since you returned, the war hasn't stopped. Several nations that worshipped the God of Freedom have already been destroyed...
"The Church of Light and Fire's methods are extremely cruel. They didn't even give them a chance to convert. They just killed them all, not leaving a single one alive...
"They piled the corpses together and burned them directly. The flames shot up into the sky. Even the people I sent out were terrified..."
"Your reach is pretty long."
Loren sighed with some emotion. Good thing he hadn't casually killed Ofemia back then. She was quite useful.
The God of Light and Fire's authority greatly suppressed vampires, yet even so, Ofemia had still managed to extend her reach there.
"Naturally."
Hearing Loren's praise, Ofemia proudly puffed out her chest.
"Then do you have any information on the God of Dreams?"
Known dangers weren't scary; the unknown was what was truly terrifying. Right now, Loren was only unclear about the God of Dreams' situation.
In Loren's plan, the God of Dreams should have joined forces with the God of Freedom and the God of Confusion to wage war against the God of Light and Fire, but to this day, there was still no information about the God of Dreams.
Not only had She not gone to war with the God of Light and Fire, but the God of Light and Fire hadn't paid Her any mind either.
Loren was indeed wary of the God of Dreams. Among the Orthodox Gods, the God of Dreams' authority was also considered relatively complete.
The God of Light and Fire possessed ninety-nine percent of the Light authority, making him the one with the highest authority completeness. Second was the God of Dreams, who held ninety percent of the Dream authority.
Third was the God of Bountiful Harvest. He probably had over eighty percent of the Bountifulness authority, which was why his stats appeared so high.
"No. My people are the only ones who can't get in touch with the God of Dreams. She's too mysterious. There isn't a single living person in Her territory.
"Even if She truly wanted to issue plans, She would do it within dreams. I can't get a foothold there."
"Alright."
This was within Loren's expectations. The God of Dreams had always been like this.
If he wanted to obtain intelligence on the God of Dreams, Loren would probably have to personally use his Dreamwalker talent to scout the Forest of Dreams.
Having been messed with by Loren so many times before, the God of Dreams would definitely be on guard. Even Loren probably couldn't easily enter the Forest of Dreams anymore.
Loren even had a terrifying speculation: every time he'd entered the Forest of Dreams before, it might have been with the God of Dreams' tacit approval.
If that were really the case, then it would be terrifying.
Loren decided to be cautious and not enter the Forest of Dreams for now. At the very least, he'd wait until he grasped more of the Perpetual Observer's authority.
The Perpetual Observer would forever be the strictest father of the Orthodox Gods.
"Then do you have any information on the God of Confusion?"
Aside from the God of Dreams, the most mysterious one was the God of Confusion.
"Yes."
Ofemia revealed a confident smile. Working as an intelligence agent for Loren was far better than being a dog.
She would never forget the Duke's instructions to her that day. It was after Loren's secret of raising witches had been exposed. Just as she was planning ways to deal with Loren, the Duke had appeared.
The Duke had said that Ofemia was to obediently serve as Loren's dog, and that all Bloodline members had to serve as Loren's dogs. Even if Loren ordered them to die, they could not disobey.
Previously, Ofemia had always believed that the Bloodline's internal wariness of Loren was purely because of the Church. But she had clearly been mistaken.

Loren was far more terrifying than she had imagined. Even the High-Ranking Members she couldn't reach were willing to stand against the Church for Loren's sake.
"A strange disease suddenly appeared in the God of Confusion's territory. This disease is very odd. It's a mental-type illness, but it spreads through some unknown method.
"Now, this disease has already infected several cities. The Church of Confusion has chosen to completely seal off these cities while simultaneously releasing information that the disease has already been cured..."
Loren didn't even need to think about it. Noah was definitely the one behind this.
Loren hadn't asked Noah about it before, but there was no way Noah, having obtained the technology, would pass up the chance to retaliate against the Church of Confusion.
Noah's methods now were even more bizarre than Loren had imagined. He could actually produce something like this.
Still, Loren could guess at the general principle. This was probably some kind of corruption, a corruption that even the God of Confusion couldn't cover up.
"Any other intelligence?"
"A long time ago, an investigator named Noah betrayed the Church of Confusion. He obtained the Goddess of Love's ability, became immortal, and caused no small amount of trouble for the Church of Confusion."
Ofemia treated the matter of Noah as highly important intelligence. Loren felt somewhat emotional. William was indeed reliable. To this day, no one else knew about Noah. Even Ofemia didn't know that Noah was actually Loren's man.
"What about the battlefield? Tell me all the important intelligence."
Since Ofemia didn't know, Loren wouldn't say more and asked about other matters instead.
"The Church of Light and Fire has shifted its main offensive focus to the God of Freedom's territory. At the same time, they're at a stalemate with the Church of Confusion. They haven't committed their full strength.
"More and more Bloodline members are appearing on the battlefield between the God of Night and Thunder and the God of Vows and Wind. As the war progresses, the conflict between the Bloodline and the Church grows stronger. The Church has also started finding ways to weaken the Bloodline's power."
Previously, the vampires and the Church had gotten along fine because they were both enslaving ordinary people together, and the Church needed the vampires to divert contradictions.
"The oppression was done by the vampires. It has nothing to do with the Church."
But once the war began, the situation changed. The Church didn't trust the vampires' loyalty, which was why they were trying to weaken vampire strength.
The Church hadn't done anything wrong either, after all, the vampires had already defected to Loren before the Divine War even started. They'd stumbled onto the truth by accident.
"Oh, right, there's one more thing. A tyrant suddenly appeared in the God of Plague's territory. His strength is formidable, and he's conquered many places. There's even a possibility he might unify the region...
"His strength is somewhat unreasonable, and his prestige is absurdly high..."
"..."
Loren didn't respond. He knew the Emperor Card had appeared.
