"Go!"

The moment Elder Eagle turned his attention to Pebble, Marcus put his plan into motion.

"Move!"

His two Sea Demon Souls rushed forward, drawing the remaining forty-plus undead sailors away from the boss. At the same time, Marcus raised his bow while his five Royal Sorcerers spread out behind him and began casting.

’First, clear out the trash.’

"Freezing World!"

The area attack exploded across the battlefield. Arrows burst into a storm of icy blue feathers that screamed into the undead horde. Critical hits flashed one after another as slowing effects and other debuffs stacked almost instantly. Even without Blazing Explosive Arrows, Marcus’s fully buffed state allowed him to deal damage close to what he had managed earlier.

Combined with the relentless barrage from the five Royal Sorcerers, the undead sailors simply couldn’t hold the line. A single coordinated volley was enough.

The undead sailors collapsed one after another like dominoes, experience pouring into Marcus as equipment and materials scattered across the floor with a series of metallic clatters.

In an instant, the battlefield was stripped down to its true participants: Marcus, Pebble, the two Sea Demon Souls, five Royal Sorcerers, and Elder Eagle.

High above, Pebble was barely staying alive. Elder Eagle’s relentless ranged attacks had carved away most of his health, leaving him with less than a third of his HP. At the current pace, he wouldn’t survive much longer.

Then the boss reached the invisible eighty-yard boundary, and without the slightest hesitation, Elder Eagle immediately abandoned the chase and turned back toward the Azure Vortex.

Pebble continued firing, desperately trying to pull the boss’s attention back, but Elder Eagle ignored every attack as if they didn’t exist.

The moment he came within roughly thirty yards of the Azure Vortex, a healing number appeared above his head and his health instantly returned to full, erasing every bit of damage Pebble had painstakingly dealt.

The pattern was obvious now: once Elder Eagle crossed that boundary, he effectively disengaged from combat, became immune to being lured away, ignored all incoming attacks, and flew straight back to the Azure Vortex to restore himself completely.

Trying to kite him beyond his patrol range was nothing but a waste of time.

As soon as Elder Eagle resumed his patrol, his sharp eyes swept across the battlefield again. Almost immediately, they locked onto Marcus standing about fifty yards away.

With a powerfu charge, the boss shot forward like a missile.

"Come on!"

Marcus had intentionally cleared away every minion for this exact moment. Now... it was finally time for the real fight.

His blood surged with anticipation. Ever since changing classes, he had been looking forward to testing himself in a true head-on battle instead of relying on tricks and hit-and-run tactics; this was what being a knight was all about.

No more distractions. The plan was simple: defeat Elder Eagle, claim the treasure, then head to Dragon’s Roar Isle and enjoy a well-earned break with the girls.

When Elder Eagle closed to within thirty yards, Marcus activated his strongest opening move: "The Ascendant’s Domain!"

A brilliant golden shockwave erupted from his body, expanding across the battlefield before engulfing Elder Eagle.

The boss’s attributes instantly dropped by ten percent.

’Now that’s more like it.’

Elder Eagle’s Mask of Fear also reduced the attributes of anyone within thirty yards by ten percent, but Marcus had acted first. With every enhancement already active, he had entered the strongest state he could currently achieve.

It had been quite a while since he’d gone all out like this, and curious himself, Marcus glanced at his status window.

Only one description came to mind: ’Absolute beast mode.’ Even Marcus couldn’t help raising an eyebrow; those numbers were honestly ridiculous.

As Elder Eagle entered the domain, its effect immediately activated. A crimson damage number burst above the boss’s head: -35,000. Ten percent of the boss’s maximum health disappeared instantly.

A heartbeat later, the Mask of Fear’s aura reached Marcus as well, reducing his own attributes by ten percent. His maximum HP fell accordingly, dropping by 2,284, but it hardly mattered; trading a fraction of his own strength to instantly strip away ten percent of the boss’s health was well worth it.

At the same time, the two Sea Demon Souls rushed into position.

"Taunting Light!"

The instant the skill landed, their passive ability, Enfeeble, activated, reducing Elder Eagle’s attack and defense by another twenty percent.

The boss had barely entered range before layer after layer of debuffs settled onto him.

Marcus didn’t waste a second. "Mountain Fang Shot!"

Three diamond-tipped arrows shot toward Elder Eagle as the five Royal Sorcerers unleashed their spells alongside him.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Every arrow and every spell carved away more than three thousand HP. Empowered by his fully buffed stats, Marcus didn’t miss a single shot, and nearly half of his attacks landed as critical hits. Just one coordinated volley from Marcus and the Royal Sorcerers dealt well over thirty thousand damage, and the stream of damage numbers floating above Elder Eagle’s head was almost mesmerizing.

Watching from the entrance, Lily and FreshwindElara could hardly contain their excitement.

"Marcus..."

Their eyes never left him.

He moved with confidence, every action smooth and decisive, overwhelming the battlefield with sheer power. Watching him fight so fearlessly filled them with admiration, and neither girl could hide the pride in her expression.

Even the summoned beasts seemed affected by the atmosphere. They pawed at the ground and let out eager growls, itching to throw themselves into the battle.

Meanwhile, Pebble relied on his mount’s superior speed to circle back around. Catching up from behind, he fired another Mountain Fang Shot into Elder Eagle’s back, three arrows striking home in quick succession and tearing away another chunk of the boss’s health.
