Chapter 527: Taking Down the Mythic Beast

The Sea Lions turned out to be amphibious creatures. They had likely wandered onto the island above, which was exactly where Silas the Wanderer had first discovered and tracked them.

Drawn in by the Sea Demon Soul, the blue-eyed sea lion let out a thunderous roar. A wall of water burst outward, crashing across a two-meter radius before slamming directly into the summoned guardian.

BAM! Seven hundred damage.

For most players, a hit like that would be painful. Even high-grade health potions only restored around two hundred HP per second. Marcus, however, only smiled.

At this rate, each Sea Demon Soul could comfortably tank seven or eight level sixty blue-eyed sea lions without any healing at all, so he had nothing to worry about.

’Attack!’ The command came the moment the sea lion committed itself.

Brilliant flashes of magic lit up the water as waves churned in every direction. Marcus and his pets unleashed a relentless barrage of spells, giving the sea lion no chance to recover.

Although every one of his pets was still below level fifty, their growth potential was absurd. Thanks to Fish-Walk, fighting underwater didn’t reduce their combat strength in the slightest. Against level sixty sea lions, every attack landed for well over three thousand damage.

Lyanna, the Wyvern Saint Knight, and Camillo, the Vixen Queen, were especially terrifying. Both possessed Divine Beast potential, and their magic attacks consistently dealt more than thirty-five hundred damage with every cast, making it completely one-sided.

Just the three pets alone tore away more than ten thousand HP in a single exchange, and that wasn’t even counting the critical hits Lyanna landed from time to time.

They weren’t fighting alone, either. Standing behind Marcus were five Royal Sorcerers summoned through the Dragon’s Secret Decree, and since they inherited Marcus’s attack power, and his Magic Attack had already reached an outrageous level, every spell they fired hit like a siege weapon.

Each Royal Sorcerer dealt roughly four thousand damage per attack, and five casting together erased over twenty thousand HP almost instantly.

The Dragon’s Secret Decree was already an absurdly powerful piece of equipment, but in Marcus’s hands, its effectiveness became downright unreasonable.

’Quadruple Surge!’ Pebble’s Corpse Demon Dark Soul Sword flashed through the water with the speed of an assassin’s strike: Thwack. Thwack. Thwack. Thwack. Four damage numbers burst above the sea lion’s head, each exceeding four thousand. None of them were critical hits, yet Pebble still dealt over sixteen thousand damage with that single skill.

The blue-eyed sea lion had started with only forty-two thousand HP, and by the time Marcus was about to raise his own weapon, it was already dead. He never even got the chance to attack.

The girls behind him, who had been preparing to join the fight, could only watch the monster collapse. Even Amber, whose draw speed was the fastest among them, had only just finished pulling back the string of her Mythic Artifact bow, Maple Leaf Dance, before the battle was over.

It was almost comical, but fortunately, everyone had grown accustomed to scenes like this. Otherwise, they would probably have been left speechless all over again, since at this point, anything below level sixty that wasn’t a boss simply couldn’t pose a real threat to Marcus.

Now that they had a clear idea of the sea lions’ strength, the rest of the group finally joined in. One after another, they summoned their own pets and prepared to clear the path ahead.

Lily and FreshwindElara, the party’s two Clerics, immediately began casting support spells on Marcus and his companions.

Cleric buffs worked on ordinary pets, and healing magic did as well. However, summoned entities created through skills, such as Pebble, the two Sea Demon Souls, and the Royal Sorcerers, couldn’t receive those benefits.

FreshwindElara, as a Five-Element Cleric, excelled at enhancing elemental combat. She effortlessly layered Elemental Resistance and Elemental Attack buffs over the party, her movements smooth from long practice, and the resulting boosts were remarkably powerful.

Beams of light shimmered through the water as more pets appeared. Before long, everyone was surrounded by overlapping buff effects, and the group advanced deeper toward the Sea Lion’s Tomb.

Since level sixty sea lions no longer posed any real danger and there was no reason to rush, they decided to clear every pack they encountered along the way and earn some extra experience.

The two Sea Demon Souls moved ahead to gather enemies, each pulling five or six sea lions at a time before leading them back to the group.

The moment the monsters entered range, the party unleashed everything, and Marcus and his pets already possessed frightening offensive power, and with Lily’s and FreshwindElara’s buffs enhancing them even further, his ordinary attacks now exceeded five thousand damage each.

Combined with Lily’s Darkfire Phoenix, FreshwindElara’s Nine-Winged Dark Gold Bat King, and the ranged attacks from the rest of the girls, the party’s firepower became overwhelming. Every group of sea lions disappeared the instant the barrage landed, their HP vanishing so quickly that they were reduced to experience points almost before they could react.

Jade’s Twin-Winged Water Demon Cat and Anya’s newly obtained Twin-Winged Thunder Wyrm leveled at an astonishing pace, their experience bars climbing rapidly with every defeated pack.

Following the route marked on Silas’s map, they descended another twenty meters before circling around Crescent Island until they discovered a narrow underwater passage.

The tunnel twisted through several forks before finally opening up twenty minutes later into an enormous circular sea basin.

The chamber was surprisingly bright despite its depth. Towering cliffs enclosed the basin on every side, creating a vast spherical cavern filled with countless blue-eyed sea lions swimming in every direction.

Across from them, more than a hundred meters above the water, a massive stone platform had been carved directly into the cliff face. Above it, three ancient looking words were engraved in elegant calligraphy.

Sea Lion’s Tomb.

At the far end of the platform, directly beneath the inscription, a cerulean teleportation gate rotated slowly, its light rippling across the surrounding water, and guarding the entrance stood several unusually large blue-eyed sea lions.

One of them immediately drew Marcus’s attention: unlike the others, its fur wasn’t white but a deep sapphire blue that glowed with an almost ethereal radiance, and it stood proudly at the center of the pack, impossible to overlook.

Just as Silas’s map had described, it was the level seventy Golden Boss: Blue-Eyed Sea Lion King.

To enter the Sea Lion’s Tomb, they would first have to eliminate the sea lions guarding the platform, and only then could they face the Sea Lion King.

A smile slowly spread across Marcus’s face as his eyes locked onto the boss; now this was more like it.
