Monster no Goshujin-sama

17. Weiwaten's Concerns

17 - Yona Iino Perspective

A few days had passed since I visited Viscount Ban, a small aristocrat of the Empire, to confirm with this eye the rumors of the 'false brave', a forger of the transferees.

Having met Mr. Gordon, deputy chief of the diocesan knights and captain of the second unit, I was acting with him.

Even so, it doesn't mean we're alone.

Besides Mr. Gordon, the captain, he was accompanied by five diocesan knights.

Having taken an inn in the village where I had stopped, I visited the rooms that Mr. Gordon and his men had rented after I had undone my traveling costume.

One of the knights who answered me invites me into his room.

"Oh, Master Iino. Welcome aboard."

Mr. Gordon, who was surrounding the table, welcomed me warmly.

Gordon, a bald head great with black skin, has a slightly scary look on his face.

But contrary to that impression, his waist is soft and gentlemanly.

At first, it was just me who was a little stiff to talk to, but now that a few days have passed, I treat him without tension.

I was promptly informed by Mr. Gordon of the results of my investigation into the False Brave, concerning the expanded tables of maps and documents.

Ms. Gordon's second unit, composed of about four hundred diocesan knights, is scattered throughout the neighborhood's small aristocratic territory to investigate pseudo-brave men while working with local humans.

The information obtained is gathered at Mr. Gordon's, so I had been told to speak by him.

Even so, not much seems to have been achieved today, ridiculously.

"I'm sorry it didn't turn out so well"

Mr. Gordon dropped his shoulder.

Doing so, the big bear seemed kind of squeaky and looked comical somewhere.

"Mr. Iino gave us some important information. It doesn't depend."

Mr. Gordon's information is about Kudo Lu.

Ms. Gordon asked me to help because the village where the fake brave men had stopped had been destroyed by monsters, and because of the suspected involvement of 'King of the Demon Army' Kudo Lu, the mastermind of the Fort Chile raid.

I have already told you what I know about Kudo Lu.

Most importantly, it simply disclosed the information I knew, and it doesn't mean what I did.

"An investigation into a false brave man isn't going to get results any time soon."

I let Mr. Gordon, who seemed sorry, shake my neck beside me.

"Because I know Mr. Gordon's working hard."

I tried to act together and found out that Mr. Gordon is very diligent.

While travelling by car during the day, he collects information locally, receives information gathered from other knights, and after scrutinizing them, puts them together, giving instructions to his men, the knights, each time, and also makes small summaries of contacts to each of the collaborating small nobles.

Even if the accompanying knights are helping in part, the difficulty of grasping the whole thing and appropriately communicating will be out of line.

When I said it worked, I even had the impression of devotion somewhere, to the extent that I didn't think I'd get much sleep.

"There's no way I can complain to Mr. Gordon who's trying. Rather, it's as amazing as I think it is."

"Thank you"

Mr. Gordon loosened his rocky face just a little.

"But I'm afraid you'll compliment me on this. This is a natural duty for us. Anyway, we're not part of this world."

"Eh?

Not part of this world?

It was an expression I don't really understand.

"What does that mean?

"... Hmm"

Mr. Gordon did his hand to his jaw and showed him a little thought trick.

Put it down for a beat and open your mouth.

"Does Master Iino know something called" Grace's Blood "?

"... Huh? Yes, you mean the descendants of the transferees."

The power we call cheat ability is called 'grace' in this world, and the descendants of the transferees are called 'grace blood families'.

While traveling, it should have been this' blood of grace 'that Mashima had falsely identified herself.

"As a matter of fact, we, the Knights of the Diocese, are all the blood of the Grace."

"Huh? Really?

I turned my eyes round.

It was my first ear.

When I accidentally turned my gaze to Mr. Gordon's men's knights, I nodded back.

"Yeah, the captain's right."

"... I didn't know"

But if you ask me, some of it was convincing.

Mr. Gordon has black skin that we don't see in this world.

In retrospect, when I met the head of the Knights of the Diocese at Fort Ebenus, I sometimes thought he looked somewhat like us.

That's because they were descendants of the transferees.

"Most of all, not everyone can be a Cathedral Knight if you are a 'Grace Blood'"

Yet another, the youngest knight in this, added.

"The Cathedral Knights are the most elite force to fight alongside the brave. Without the corresponding strength, you cannot be a diocesan knight. Instead, if you are meritocratic, you should say that only part of the" Grace Blood "can be a Cathedral Knight."

For being young or in a feverish tone.

The atmosphere is a bit similar to Watanabe, who was acting with us on the expedition.

I asked, remembering the nostalgia.

"If it's meritocracy, can you only be a Cathedral Knight in part of The Grace Blood? It seems a little conflicting."

"No. That's not true. Mr. Iino apparently doesn't know what" Grace's Blood "looks like."

"Isn't it just a descendant of a metastatic?

"No. That's not true." Grace's Blood Family "means" the family that inherits grace by blood ". For this reason, there are many who are good at handling magic, fighting sense, magical aptitude… all in all, fighting ability. This power is a sure testament to our truly honorable blood!

Mr. Gordon leaked a bitter laugh when he saw a proud young knight speaking with his hands on his chest.

"That said, Master Iino, don't get me wrong. Our power, unlike the brave, does not transcend the boundaries of the people of this world. In fact, some Imperial Knights and Allied Knights also have the power to cross the common Cathedral Knights, like The Prairie Bull Knights and The Best Knights of the North of the Tree Sea. With those exceptions, however, the Cathedral Knight can still be considered the most elite force of war."

When it comes to the best knight in the northern realm of the Tree Sea, were you referring to Mr. Shiran acting with Mashima?

Though time-limited, she heard from Mashima that she could do both of Warrior's ten letters from the front, but that just doesn't mean that all the Cathedral knights have the ability to fight that far.

Even so, I guess that's enough fighting power.

As a palpable gesture, the faces of the Imperial Second Knights, with whom I had been acting for about a month, needed to be confronted by four or five men to fight the monsters on the surface of the Tree Sea.

Apparently, the Alliance's Third Knights are more proficient than they are, and it would have been enough if there were two or three of them on the same terms.

So what about the Cathedral Knights?

Mr. Gordon's story is that he is no match for Mr. Silan in the common diocesan knighthood, but being like her is an exception.

I guess the average diocesan knight's fighting power outweighs the Alliance knight by enough.

If so, it means that one has combat power close to a monster on the surface of the tree sea.

The Cathedral Knights have heard that the first unit consists of about six hundred, the second about four hundred, the third about three hundred, and the fourth about two hundred.

As Mr Gordon's second unit seems to be, each of them seems to work almost as an independent organization, so I don't suppose all the armies will come together, but some of them alone can be said to be large enough.

"That's amazing"

"Yeah. But that's not all."

Seeing honestly that I was impressed, the young knight put his chest up more and more.

"Some people can reproduce the power of grace once held by a brave man."

"Huh? Are there people who can even use their inherent abilities?

I shouted a little louder.

Sometimes I have a powerful intrinsic ability to 'Wewaten' myself, and it's not hard to imagine how big it is.

The knight nodded loudly to me, unable to hide his surprise.

"Yep. We call them 'beloved sons of grace'. What are you hiding? The captain is one of them."

"Mr. Gordon?

As I turned my gaze, Mr. Gordon nodded modestly.

"Yes, though, it is only significantly inferior to the original......"

"What are you talking about! Speaking of Gordon-Caville in" Glowing Wings, "the fingerfolding" Grace Beloved "in history. Aren't you the one closest to the brave man you once were!

To the humble Mr. Gordon, the young knight appealed.

In fact, I guess Mr. Gordon has all that power, but nevertheless, the enthusiastic tone was impressive.

I guess he admires Mr. Gordon.

Though Mr. Gordon also has a bitter laugh on his mouth, his eyes were gentle to see the young knight.

I could see that we were having a good relationship.

……

One of the reasons I accompanied Mr. Gordon was to ascertain with this eye what kind of organization the Knights of the Diocese were.

It was Mr. Lewis who gave me the wrong information about Mashima in the Fort Chile raid, but next to it was the figure of Mr. Travis, a diocesan knight.

If, at that time, the wrong information was deliberately disseminated...

Besides, if the Cathedral Knights were involved...

That's how I could have suspected it.

For this reason I intended to take this opportunity to identify about them.

But what I could feel when I treated them this way was that they were proud to encourage them to do their job.

I don't think they'd do anything despicable like that.

The concern I had was apparently overthought by me.

"Mm. What has been done, Master Iino?

"... no. Nothing, sir."

I waved to Mr. Gordon, who noticed his gaze and looked surprised.

"It's just... uh, yeah. Think it's amazing."

In half of the deception, turn the water to the earlier young knight.

"Was it 'Grace's Beloved'? There's something else about Mr. Gordon."

"Of course!

He answered with a delightful look.

"The current Knights have several 'beloved sons of grace'. Among them, there are still four captains with particularly powerful powers."

Are you the captains?

I already knew the names of the captains of the Knights of the Diocese.

Harrison-Addington, leader of the Knights of the Cathedral and also captain of Unit I.

Gordon-Caville, deputy captain and captain of the second unit.

Vivian Maywood, captain of the third unit.

And Travis-Mortimer, captain of unit four.

"So I've met three people, except Mr. Vivian."

Before I knew it, it also feels a little strange that I was face-to-face with the majority of them.

Most importantly, in this case, you should think that you had the opportunity to face me, who is treated as a brave man in this world, because I am a person in a key position.

"... Has Mr. Iino ever met Mortimer?

Mr. Gordon has asked, thinking that there is no benefit either.

"Huh? Oh, is that Mr. Travis? Yes."

I hadn't told Mr. Gordon until now that I was meeting with Mr. Travis, not until I had figured out what kind of organization the Cathedral Knights were.

Nevertheless, it just won't matter anymore.

"We had the opportunity to meet each other in a city called Serratta, Earl of Lawrence."

After the answer, is that it? I thought.

"... Really?"

The look on Mr. Gordon's face that snorted was stiff.

The other knights had different attitudes somewhere.

If you realize it, it's kind of weird air.

Mr. Gordon asked me, bewildered.

"So, what does Iino have to do with Mortimer?

It was an irresistible tone.

What is it?

I've never seen Mr. Gordon's attitude like this before, and it was increasingly suspicious.

Nevertheless, what was asked is not in itself something to hide.

"I don't care what relationship they say. Just once, we talked face-to-face."

"Really?"

Now I could see faint relief emotions.

In my chest, it didn't take long for my suspicions to swell greatly.

"What can I do for you, Mr. Travis?

"... no. That's not true."

Mr. Gordon denied it and missed his gaze.

But such an attitude is like saying there is something.

Then I turned my gaze around.

I gaze perfectly at the young knight who spoke a lot earlier.

I threw an inquiry at him, who was overtly frightened.

"Isn't there something there?

"No. Such a thing..."

I guess I never thought you'd be questioned by the brave.

His young and stern face was cramped...

I feel sorry for you, but I'm not going to hit you here.

To stare down, for a few seconds.

He cracked his mouth as if he was overwhelmed by the pressure of his gaze.

"... Lord Mortimer has a little problem."

"Problem, is it"

I frown.

"What do you mean?

Mr. Gordon sighed in response to my gaze as I turned around.

"Isn't it something you can hide over this period"

They still have something.

Again, with a big, deep sigh, Mr. Gordon opened his heavy mouth

"First of all, I need to be clear... Dear Iino. Our knights are those who give their swords to the brave. It is the duty of the knightly to embody the philosophy of justice and to deliver the weak. There are many of us in the Diocese Knights who are embodied in the presence of the Knights, starting with their leader, Lord Harrison-Addington. While immature, I strive that way, as do my men"

I know Mr. Gordon and his men's knights are good.

Neither does Mr. Harrison, the captain of the regiment, because I have no interaction with myself, but because Mr. Gordon says so, I'm sure he's personable.

"But there are parts of the knight that cannot be said to be so when it comes to whether all of them follow the knight's norms"

I could understand this, too.

Because by the time I was acting with the Imperial Knights, I saw many knights with a strong sense of merit and all the glory.

"Unfortunately, some of the Cathedral Knights do not deserve the Knights' Code"

"That's Mr. Travis?

"Precisely, he and his surroundings."

bitterly, Mr. Gordon admitted.

"He who has power must have the heart to discipline it. It's hard to say. This is never going to be easy. Those who are knights are constantly tested. But......"

"Mr. Travis, isn't he?

"... that is a man of strong merit. For that, there are places where you don't choose the means. I hear bad rumors, and to be honest, I'm not much of a complimented character."

Reminds me of Mr. Travis', bard-like appearance.

He didn't look like such a dangerous person... no. Speaking of which.

Behind my brain, what happened in Serratta came back to life.

An elegant grin directed at me and Mr. Lewis, who talk.

A disturbing look that looks good on a good man.

Didn't I remember something hooked on his smile then?

At that time, I was wondering if you were making a fool of me or Mr. Lewis for his sense of justice... but hey, was that something more malicious?

When I saw that I was thinking, Mr. Gordon lowered his brow.

"Don't get me wrong, Mr. Iino. It's true for everything, but the deviant is what comes out of it."

"I know that... but how could someone like that be the captain?

"Even if your personality has difficulties, you can't just strip your knighthood of it. Also, bad rumors are only rumors. Most of all, it's not easy for a man with power in his parents' home to tail him... and it's also true that he's a very good knight."

Mr. Gordon sighed.

"The descendant of a brave man who once crusaded The Golden Evil Dragon. Travis-Mortimer in" Holy Eye ". Regardless, he will treat the brave with more respect than he is also a cathedral knight, but in case, he may even imitate something. Take care, Mr. Iino."

"... thank you"

I thanked Mr. Gordon for his kindness to my attention, even though I was forced to hear things I didn't really want to talk about.

Most importantly, that kindness might have been too late.

Suppose it was Mr. Travis who gave me and Mr. Lewis the wrong information to burn in righteousness......

Because I will have been danced by Mr. Travis.

"... What is Mr. Travis doing now?

"I'm sorry. Each unit of the Knights of the Diocese, with some authority, acts independently, so until what other units are doing… I've heard stories before that I was behind the Fort Chile raid, but I don't know what I'm doing right now"

"Really?"

Since it is not easy to communicate over long distances, it is significant that it is left to the discretion of the local commander.

Although Ms. Gordon herself is here with the mission of 'investigating the fake braves', she is left to judge her actions on the ground.

I would say the same goes for Mr Travis.

What if he moves independently in search of a handle...

Earlier, Mr Gordon said, I was concerned about the phrase 'do not choose the means'.

Even though I am in a predisposition to misunderstandings, I can do anything if I want to add difficulty, and if I want to be the bad guy, I can do it easily... because I knew about a human being in such a difficult position.

"Mashima..."

For a person like Mr. Travis who seeks manners, isn't a person like him or being beside him a food for outfits?

It's a stupid, inferior outrage.

But that's not why it's so negligible.

... Of course, this is just unfounded speculation.

I don't even know where he is right now, or, in fact, he may be living a smooth and full life.

But I could do nothing to keep my chest shut.
