Gu Yifan went upstairs to the door of the classroom for his upcoming lecture. He checked the time on his phone; it was only eight-thirty, fifteen minutes before class started.

So, he headed over to the men’s restroom entrance for a quick smoke.

After finishing his cigarette, Gu Yifan washed his hands and strolled leisurely into the classroom.

Once inside, Gu Yifan casually scanned the room. He didn’t see Sao Man Peng Shaoqiang or Young Master Bi Wang Shouyi, so he simply picked an empty seat and sat down.

At around 8:45, Peng Shaoqiang and the others finally burst into the classroom, panting and out of breath.

"Hahh..."

After scanning the room and spotting Gu Yifan, Peng Shaoqiang and his friends hurried over.

"Old Fan, morning!"

Peng Shaoqiang and the others grinned deviously at Gu Yifan.

"What’s with the creepy grins? Find some money or something?"

Gu Yifan shot a casual glance at the scruffy-looking group and remarked nonchalantly.

"Uhh..."

"Boss, can we please not bring that up again?"

Peng Shaoqiang said with a look of resignation, "After what that professor said last time, the story spread to the class next door. I’ve been completely humiliated!"

"No, no, no, Number Four, you’ve gone viral. Why don’t you use this opportunity to make your debut at Jinling University!"

He Dongdong spouted nonsense with a perfectly straight face.

"Hahaha..."

The guys cracked up at He Dongdong’s words.

Soon, the bell for class rang, and the professor walked in, textbooks in hand.

Gu Yifan, Peng Shaoqiang, and the others kept their voices down, shooting the shit while half-listening to the lecture.

Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, it was noon and class was over.

Since Su Qinghe only had two classes that morning, Gu Yifan had told her to go shopping with Bao Baijie and the others.

As for him, he would just grab a casual lunch at the school cafeteria with Peng Shaoqiang and the guys.

The decor on the third floor of the school cafeteria was clearly a cut above the floors below.

Of course, the food prices were also considerably higher.

Peng Shaoqiang zipped off to order a few stir-fried dishes, and then the guys found a table to wait.

The cafeterias at Jinling University were actually pretty decent. There were three in total, each situated in a different area of the campus.

The one Gu Yifan and his friends went to allowed customers to order specific dishes that were cooked on the spot, just like a street-side food stall.

The prices were a bit higher, but at least the food was passable.

It couldn’t be helped; the guys were all picky eaters.

Peng Shaoqiang and the others simply couldn’t stomach the pre-made, mass-cooked meals.

Especially not after having tasted Gu Yifan’s cooking.

That was why they had all been in such a hurry to get here.

Soon, the stir-fried dishes were ready. A cafeteria lady called out to their table, and Peng Shaoqiang and Wang Shouyi immediately scrambled over like eager monkeys to retrieve the food.

Without another word, the moment the dishes hit the table, the guys began to dig in.

It couldn’t be helped.

The food was only so-so, but they were starving.

"Hey, guys, I’ve been wondering about something."

Peng Shaoqiang said after swallowing a mouthful of food, looking at Gu Yifan, Wang Shouyi, and the others.

"What is it? Let’s hear it."

Wang Shouyi mumbled through a mouthful of rice.

"Uhh..."

"Well, you know how whenever you’re in class, you get super hungry, even if you’re not doing anything?"

"Do you guys feel that way too?"

Peng Shaoqiang asked, looking at the others.

"Huh..."

"You know, that’s actually true!"

"I’m never this hungry when I’m just hanging out in the dorm on weekends. I can even skip meals and be fine. But in class, if I miss a single meal, I’m famished!"

Wang Shouyi thought about it for a moment and nodded. It really was true.

Gu Yifan thought about it and realized it was true for him, too.

’Whether it’s school or a job, as long as it’s a weekday, you get incredibly hungry when mealtime rolls around, regardless of whether you’ve actually done anything.’

’What’s the reason for that?’

Gu Yifan had always wondered.

"STOP!!!"

"Sao Man, don’t eat my chicken neck!"

Just as Gu Yifan was pondering this, he was jolted by a loud shout from Wang Shouyi.

Gu Yifan: "..."

’This...’

’Holy shit!’

’Chicken neck????’

’Is he talking about a *literal* chicken neck?’

’At first listen, that sounds so wrong!’

’Or is my mind just in the gutter!?’ Gu Yifan wondered silently.

"Seriously! Young Master Bi, what are you getting so worked up about?"

Knowing he was in the wrong, Peng Shaoqiang said awkwardly, "I was just gonna eat your chicken neck! Is it that big of a deal?"

"Hm?"

Gu Yifan’s eyes widened. ’The more I listen to these two, the weirder their conversation sounds!’

’Could it be...?’

For a moment, Gu Yifan seemed to realize something, and he shot the two of them a deeply meaningful look.

"You have the nerve to talk? You already stole and ate my chicken neck last night!"

"And now you want to eat it again!"

"I’m telling you, no way!"

Wang Shouyi said, looking annoyed.

Gu Yifan: "?????"

’Last night... stole and ate... chicken neck...’

’When you put those words together, it sounds incredibly wrong no matter how you hear it!’

"So stingy!"

"Big deal! When we get back later, I’ll let you eat my chicken neck!"

Peng Shaoqiang pouted with a look of disdain.

"Hold on a minute!"

"Uh... you two stop arguing for a second. Let me process this."

Gu Yifan couldn’t take it anymore and cut in, interrupting their conversation.

"What’s up, Old Fan?"

Hearing Gu Yifan, Peng Shaoqiang and Wang Shouyi both turned to him with blank expressions.

"Hmm..."

Gu Yifan gave the pair a meaningful look and asked, "This ’chicken neck’ you’re talking about... are we sure it’s a proper one?"

"Because no matter how I hear it, it sounds really off."

"You two..."

’I can’t listen to this anymore!’

’If I let these two keep talking, who knows where this will go!’

’You can’t blame me for letting my imagination run wild!’

’If anyone’s to blame, it’s these two and the way they talk!’

Gu Yifan shamelessly thought to himself.

He Dongdong, who had been sitting off to the side with a blank look on his face, finally processed what was happening after a few seconds. He shot to his feet, staring at Wang Shouyi and Peng Shaoqiang in horror. "HOLY FUCK!!!"

"So the shit-stirrers were right here next to me???"

"Sao Man, Young Master Bi, you two... I never thought your tastes were so... intense!"

Wang Shouyi: "..."

Peng Shaoqiang: "..."

"For fuck’s sake, Old Fan, Dog Dong! As outstanding university students of the modern age, can you two not be so filthy-minded!"

"I’m talking about the chicken neck in his bowl!! Not the chicken neck on his body!!!"

"Where did your minds go...?"

Peng Shaoqiang couldn’t help but roll his eyes at Gu Yifan and He Dongdong and snapped irritably.

"Uhh..."

Gu Yifan held up his hands with an innocent look on his face. "Hey, you can’t blame me for this!"

"Your conversation was so lewd, it’s impossible not to let your imagination run wild!"

"Exactly! Brother Fan’s got a point. You two were being too crude. You can’t blame us for overthinking it!"

He Dongdong chimed in from the side to back him up. "It’s just like what happened with me! Didn’t you guys think I was gay for the longest time?!"

Peng Shaoqiang: "..."

Wang Shouyi: "..."
