The two of them washed their faces.

Nora Ainsworth called Herman Hawthorne. Afterward, she took Sierra Ainsworth to a DNA testing center.

Looking at the sign on the building, Nora said to her, "It’s not that I don’t believe you. I’m just afraid you can’t fully believe me. We need to see the proof with our own eyes. Is that okay?"

Sierra Ainsworth nodded. "Okay."

The technician arranged by Herman Hawthorne collected several samples from the two of them for testing.

After a two-hour wait, the results came back. All the samples indicated that they were biological sisters.

Seeing the report, Nora and Sierra hugged each other tightly. They laughed and cried and jumped for joy for a long time. The sight even made Herman Hawthorne’s eyes well up.

Back in the hotel room, Nora and Sierra talked for a long time.

From Sierra, Nora learned more about her mother and father, which further confirmed that Claire Sinclair and Catherine Callahan were both impostors.

"Sis, should we show this DNA report to Dad?"

Nora shook her head. "Even if you told him, do you think he’d believe it? From what you’ve said, they’ve been living together for at least ten years. He didn’t even realize his own wife had been replaced. How could he possibly believe us so easily? Let’s not tip them off yet. First, we need to find out if Mom is alive or dead. We can worry about revealing our relationship later."

Sierra nodded. Her heart, long numb and cold, suddenly felt a rush of warmth.

She had never imagined she would have the chance to find her real sister.

When they returned, Claire Sinclair was sitting in the living room, apparently waiting for them.

"Excuse me, Nora Ainsworth, are you finished with the ’help’ you needed from our Sierra?"

Nora smiled sweetly. "Yes, we’re done. I just had Sierra take me out for some good food. There are so many delicious things here. I’ve only been in Draconia for a few days and don’t know my way around, so I asked Sierra to be my guide."

"She doesn’t go out much either. Sierra, come back to my room. I have some questions for you."

Nora’s eyes darkened. ’It seems Claire Sinclair is a real stickler for details.’

She had no choice but to head upstairs first.

Although Sierra knew what she would face when she returned to the room with Claire, at that moment, she was no longer afraid.

Sure enough, the moment they entered the room, Claire greeted her with a slap.

"You little bitch, did you think that just because you went out with Nora Ainsworth, I couldn’t hit you anymore?"

She lifted her face. "I never thought that. What I thought was, after all these years of playing the role of my mother, don’t you ever dream of her? After all, you two are sisters."

The thing Claire Sinclair hated most was being reminded that her current position was stolen.

She grabbed a handful of Sierra’s hair, viciously tore it out, and tossed it into the trash can. She sneered, "Quite the backbone this time. No screaming or crying. It seems your spine is starting to stiffen up again."

Just as she finished speaking, the lights in the room suddenly went out. Claire pulled the door open and saw that the hallway lights were out too. She was about to go downstairs to find the butler when a long whip viciously lashed across her body.

A bloodcurdling scream, like a pig being slaughtered, rang out. "AHHH!!! Who is it?!"

In the darkness, Nora whipped her several more times before quickly pulling Sierra back into her own room.

The lights came back on. A maid rushed upstairs to find Claire Sinclair sprawled on the floor, drenched in a cold sweat.

She quickly helped her up. "Madam, are you all right?"

Burning with rage, she swung around and slapped the maid who was helping her. "Are you blind? How could I possibly be all right? Why did the power go out?"

The maid held her stinging cheek, aggrieved. "The circuit breaker suddenly tripped."

Claire Sinclair turned and went back into her bedroom, slamming the door. She took off her clothes and looked at her waist. Several bright red whip marks were already beading with blood. The attacker clearly hadn’t held back.

She immediately knew who had done it, but she had no proof.

She couldn’t prove it was Nora Ainsworth.

But it was so obvious. She’d have to be an idiot not to guess who it was.

After applying some ointment, Claire Sinclair made a call to one of her subordinates.

"Tomorrow night, there’s a party at The Prestige Club. Be ready to assassinate Nora Ainsworth."

"Understood!"

Claire hung up, took a bath, and then came out wearing a nightgown.

Luna Ainsworth had returned.

Seeing her sitting there with her hair pinned up, he put his briefcase on the table, took off his suit jacket, and leaned in close. "All washed up and waiting for me?"

She smiled. "Of course."

She really did love this man more and more. For all these years, she had loved him with all her heart—no less than her own sister had.

Luna Ainsworth kissed her on the cheek. "Honey, I’m going to take a shower first."

She nodded. She sat there, watching him enter the bathroom, then took a small jar from a drawer. She unscrewed the lid to reveal some kind of cream.

She scooped out some of the cream and applied it all over her body. Then, she sniffed herself, and only then, satisfied, did she screw the lid back on, put the jar back in the drawer, and lie down to wait for him.

When Luna came out, he lay down on the bed and wrapped his arms around her.

"You know, our child is almost thirty, and we’ve been together for over thirty years. After all this time, it still feels like we’re newlyweds. Faye, for this lifetime, I’m completely wrapped around your finger."

Claire Sinclair’s hand traced circles on his chest. "Luna, tell me, if my sister Claire Sinclair ever came to our house, would you be able to tell us apart?"

Luna was full of confidence. "Of course. But didn’t you say you and your sister had a falling out and she’d never come to our home?"

"I was just saying, what if. I can understand it. Her life must not be going well, which is why she’s envious of me."

He turned on his side. "Then let’s just never see her again. You two haven’t spoken in a long time anyway. No need to start now."

She nodded happily.

Nora looked with a heavy heart at the spot on Sierra’s head where her hair had been torn out.

"Sis, I’m fine."

"What do you mean, you’re fine? If I hadn’t put a listening device on you earlier, I never would have known. You need to keep this on you. I’m worried something will happen to you."

A knock sounded at the door. Nora went to open it. Quentin Grant came in and closed the door behind him. "I heard from Young Master Hawthorne that you two found each other. Nora, why didn’t you ever tell me about this?"

Nora said slowly, "I was skeptical about it at first myself. After all, their DNA test came back as mother and daughter."

Quentin Grant pulled her into a hug. "I never would have imagined that you were my godfather’s daughter."

"Before my mother died, she told me that over twenty years ago, she had stolen me, a baby girl, from a banquet at the Grant Family’s estate. At the time, the only thing I had on me was a Jade Pendant, which she kept safe. In the end, arranging my engagement to Leon was her way of trying to marry me into a good family, to compensate for what she owed me."

Quentin released her. "It seems the conspiracy here runs deeper than we thought."
