"Auntie, do you want Elmer and me to come with you?"

Sierra Ainsworth’s mind raced, and she immediately understood what the little guy meant. A brilliant smile bloomed on her face. "Deal!"

After dinner, she took the two darlings with her to the meeting.

The venue was an upscale coffee shop in Draconia.

The coffee shop wasn’t very crowded in the evening. When they arrived, Aaron Sterling was already there.

"I thought you were going to be late again?" she said, taking a seat.

He raised an eyebrow. "I’m almost never late when meeting you, am I? Whose little brats are these?"

Sierra Ainsworth smiled freely. "Mine."

Aaron Sterling was taken aback. He stared at her face; her blossoming smile was like the most beautiful flower.

Ever since he’d known her, she had rarely smiled. Her eyes had always been filled with a sadness and a despair that could easily pull you in. Now, though, her color looked much better.

"Yours?" he asked, a bit hesitant. That one word held so many possibilities.

She nodded and said to the two darlings, "Say hello."

Like two well-behaved children, they chorused, "Hello, Mister."

Aaron Sterling looked a little uncomfortable. He then asked awkwardly, "What are they to you?"

"Family." That one word could mean so many things; her answer was a bit vague.

"What about their father?" The moment he said it, Aaron Sterling nearly bit his tongue.

"He’s at home."

The two little ones exchanged a glance and couldn’t help but snicker.

Dylan Grant rested his chin on the table and asked lazily, "Auntie, can we go home first? You can have this guy take you home later."

Aaron Sterling froze again. He sighed internally. ’So she’s their aunt.’

’Wait a minute...’

’Who is this pipsqueak calling "guy"...?’

By the time he realized what had happened, the two little ones had already left in their driver’s car.

"Are those your sister’s kids?"

"Yeah, my own sister."

"I saw your dad’s statement online. It said your sister is the woman of Quentin Grant, the Sect Leader of the Grant Group."

Sierra Ainsworth didn’t deny it. "Yes."

"You... gave me a scare just now. I thought they were your kids who just popped out of nowhere..."

"They actually accomplished their goal. They just came to cause trouble..."

"Ah, so that’s what it was." Aaron Sterling’s tone was cheerful. "Twins are great. We have twins in my family, too. My two aunts are twins, so there’s a chance it could happen in our generation."

"You mean..."

"I mean, if you want to have twins, you could consider me..."

Sierra Ainsworth couldn’t help but laugh. "What is this supposed to be...?"

He touched his nose. "This is... a confession."

A blush crept onto Sierra Ainsworth’s face. Just then, a cold draft swept in as a few people entered the coffee shop. Dressed in designer brands, they sat down at the table to their left.

The group was speaking in a local dialect. The two of them didn’t pay any mind at first, not until a young girl from the group stood before their table and said in a hushed voice, "Sir, Miss, please take a look at this."

She took out a very thick book.

Aaron Sterling snorted coldly and spat out a single word, "Scram."

The young girl’s expression faltered, but then she said, "Sir, join us."

Aaron Sterling pulled out his phone. "Believe it or not, I can have you thrown in jail right now."

The young girl retreated sheepishly to the neighboring table.

The whole group, three men and two women, sized up Aaron Sterling and Sierra Ainsworth in unison, muttered a few words amongst themselves, and then dropped it.

They probably figured the pair was either rich or powerful and not to be trifled with.

Aaron laughed softly. "You run into morons everywhere. As long as we live this life well, that’s all that matters."

Aaron nodded. "Isn’t there a saying? ’If I don’t descend into hell, who will?’ A guy could be hell-bent on going, and these fucking idiots are trying to stop him? Do they think everyone’s an illiterate who never went to school?"

Sierra Ainsworth pursed her lips. "The world is a mess these days. It’s probably better if we go out less."

She had just finished speaking when she saw the young girl from before approach the table in front of them. Sierra Ainsworth shot a look at Aaron Sterling. He turned to see a young woman with a two- or three-year-old daughter, who seemed to be waiting for someone.

The young girl was seen giving the same spiel to the young woman.

The young woman was a bit more reserved than Aaron Sterling had been, saying simply, "Please leave."

After failing twice in a row, the girl immediately cursed, "Damn it."

The woman at the front table, perhaps thinking it was a public place with plenty of people around and no need to be afraid, said, "I said I don’t believe you, and that’s final. How can you be so pushy?"

The young girl became indignant and instantly turned hostile. "You’re a moron! You’re going to hell when you die!"

The young woman gathered her things and was about to leave with her daughter in her arms.

But the young girl’s accomplices all advanced on the front table, completely surrounding the mother and daughter.

Sierra Ainsworth had been recording a video on her phone the whole time. She glanced down, keeping the phone low to avoid being noticed.

"Apologize to my daughter!" a big, burly man demanded.

The woman holding her daughter was clearly stubborn. "It’s not my fault, so why should I have to apologize!"

At that moment, a horrifying scene unfolded. The man actually picked up a nearby iron stool and smashed it over the woman’s head.

He followed up with two vicious kicks. "I’ll teach you to not apologize!"

The woman was bleeding from the attack. The few other customers fled in a panic. The woman fell to the ground, and her daughter, who had been in her arms, also fell and began to wail.

The sound of crying seemed to provoke the man even more.

Just as he was about to kick the woman again, a chair from Aaron Sterling’s hands crashed down on his head.

"You motherfucker, don’t you know the fucking rules? You don’t mess with women and kids! How about I fucking send you on a little trip to the Western Heaven?"

The five of them immediately turned on him, glaring fiercely. One of the women yelled, "Kill this guy! Kill him!"

Aaron Sterling sneered. "Kill me? With a fucking idiot like you who can’t even control your own plumbing?"

The five of them charged at Aaron Sterling all at once. Sierra Ainsworth stopped recording, but she didn’t call the police. She knew what Aaron was capable of—he was the school’s renowned sanda kickboxing champion.

One against five was not impossible.

A few of the coffee shop employees gathered nearby, watching coldly from the sidelines as if it were a show.

The coffee shop manager called the police.

By the time the police arrived, the fight was already over.

The paramedics arrived as well, and the woman and her daughter got into the ambulance.

Aaron Sterling sat there, leisurely sipping his coffee. The three men and two women were kneeling before him, kowtowing, beaten to a pulp.
