Chapter 509 - 503: Tonight...

Jean Grant got downstairs and saw that the living room was empty. She hurried out the main door. Thanks to her experience with Marlon Marshall, she was now quite skilled at tailing cars.

Nicholas Ainsworth didn’t spot her. He never imagined Jean Grant would follow him, so he wasn’t paying attention as he drove. He finally parked near a bar not far from "Tempting Lips," called the Onyx Bar.

Jean Grant rolled down her window and watched him get out of his car and walk straight inside. The heart that had died long ago now shattered completely.

’He’s actually gay.’

The Onyx Bar was a well-known gathering place for gay men among Alveria’s high society.

’I can’t believe he’s actually...’

Jean Grant turned the car around and drove home.

At this point, she didn’t want to know anything else.

After everything she’d been through, this revelation didn’t hit Jean as hard as it might have otherwise.

’To think that I’ve now become one of those women I used to pity online—the wives of gay men.’

’Should I admit how pitiful I am, too?’

’The most infuriating part is probably that I didn’t realize it sooner. We were together for two or three years, we got married, and only now do I find out...’

Just as she stopped the car and was about to get out, she suddenly heard a commotion. Martin Grant was the first to storm out of the main gate, followed closely by Sharon Ainsworth.

The two of them seemed to be having some sort of conflict. Martin Grant walked ahead while Sharon Ainsworth chased after him.

She kept calling his name from behind, but Martin Grant was clearly angry and got straight into his car and left.

The car tore away.

Jean Grant got out of her car. When Sharon Ainsworth saw her, she vented her anger. "How long have you been here, spying?"

Jean Grant sneered. "I just pulled up when you two came out. I was obviously going to wait until you were gone before showing myself. I didn’t expect him to leave and you to stay. I can’t just stay in my car forever. It’s not as devious as you make it sound."

Sharon Ainsworth shouted, "You are devious! Marrying my brother—if that’s not having ulterior motives, what is? But don’t get too smug, Jean Grant. It won’t last long."

Jean Grant frowned. "How do I have ulterior motives? And what do you mean, it won’t last long? Is it just because my family is so much wealthier than yours that you’re purely jealous?"

"All you have is a rich brother and parents. What else have you got? This is your second marriage, and you’ve been married to my brother for a while now, but you can’t even lay an egg. An old hen can lay eggs. You’re worse than an old hen."

Jean Grant had a fiery temper to begin with, and Sharon Ainsworth’s words were just asking for it.

She strode forward, grabbed a handful of Sharon Ainsworth’s hair, and slapped her across the face.

Sharon Ainsworth fought back, and the two of them started brawling.

Jean Grant fought more viciously than Sharon Ainsworth. Every move was brutal.

Sharon Ainsworth was left panting, her hair a mess. "Jean Grant, don’t be so arrogant! Sooner or later, you’ll destroy the Grant Family with your own hands! Hahaha, then you’ll be the one condemned for all time!"

Jean’s heart tightened. She knew exactly what Sharon meant.

The palms of her hands grew cold. If she hadn’t come to her senses, and the consequences were exactly as Sharon Ainsworth had said—that the Grant Group couldn’t be saved—then she would never be forgiven by her family, even in death.

In that moment, Jean Grant was immensely grateful that she had seen Nicholas Ainsworth’s true colors beforehand.

She said nothing more and went straight back to her bedroom.

She closed the bedroom door, went into the bathroom, washed her face, and smoothed out her hair.

Jean Grant looked at herself in the mirror, her eyes welling with tears.

She couldn’t forgive herself for what she’d done. All she could do was use what little power she had to handle this matter.

Pulling out her phone, she spoke, "Is this the detective agency? I need you to go to the Onyx Bar and take some sets of photos of Nicholas Ainsworth for me. Money is not an issue, as long as they’re high-definition and worth what I’m paying. Okay, send them to me when you have them."

Hanging up the phone, a determined expression appeared on Jean Grant’s face.

"Mommy." Dorothy Ellsworth, hugging a pillow, pushed open Ethan Ellsworth and Chloe Marshall’s bedroom door and called out expectantly.

Chloe Marshall sat up. "What’s wrong, Dorothy?"

"Mommy, Elmer told me a ghost story this afternoon. I’m scared to be in my room by myself."

Chloe Marshall nodded. "Then you can sleep with Mommy."

With that, she gave Ethan Ellsworth a shove. "Move over."

Ethan Ellsworth moved to the far side of the bed. He was not happy about having Dorothy wedged between them.

Because whenever Dorothy slept between them, that was it for the night.

"Mommy, I can’t sleep."

Ethan Ellsworth glanced at the clock and saw it was only eight. He suggested, "Dorothy, how about you play a game with Daddy? After we play for a bit, you can go to sleep."

Dorothy Ellsworth nodded. "Okay, okay! What game are we gonna play, Daddy?"

"You tell Daddy. What game do you want to play?"

Dorothy Ellsworth thought carefully. "I want to play the game you and Mommy play."

Ethan Ellsworth broke into a sweat. "Role-playing?"

’How am I supposed to play that with her?’

He only played role-playing games to add a little fun to his private life with Chloe Marshall. How would Dorothy know about it? ’Could it be...’

"Yeah, Daddy! Let’s play that! I saw you and Mommy having a lot of fun playing. I want to play, too."

"Dorothy, have you been eavesdropping outside our door?"

Dorothy Ellsworth didn’t deny it at all. "Yep! Otherwise, how would I have seen you and Mommy playing games on the bed..."

"You can’t do that anymore..." After a long pause, that was all Ethan Ellsworth could manage to say.

"So, are you going to play this game with me, Daddy?"

"As long as you promise Daddy you won’t eavesdrop outside Mommy and Daddy’s bedroom door anymore, then Daddy will agree."

Dorothy Ellsworth answered without hesitation, "Okay."

Ethan Ellsworth thought for a moment. "So what kind of role-playing game do you want to play with Daddy?"

"I already told you, Daddy. I want to be Mommy, and you can be you."

Chloe Marshall burst out laughing. "You want to play husband and wife with your daddy? Wouldn’t that be all mixed up?"

"Then... forget it. I’ll be Red Boy, and Daddy can be the Bull Demon King."

Ethan Ellsworth said with disgust, "The Bull Demon King is way too ugly."

Dorothy Ellsworth pouted. "Daddy, they say a daughter is her father’s little lover from a past life. How could I have had a lover like you in my past life? So shallow! Dylan said I must have been a fairy in my past life. And since I was a fairy, you must have been attracted to my looks back then, too."

Ethan Ellsworth didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "Alright, enough with the grand theories. Daddy agrees, okay?"

Dorothy Ellsworth nodded, jumped to her feet, and replied with great theatrical flair, "Father, I want to eat Monk’s flesh! Go and capture Trevor Donovan for your child!"

Ethan Ellsworth’s eyes widened in mock anger. "Fine! Father will do as you say! You and your mother wait here at home. I will go and get him for you."

"Then you must be careful on the road, Father. Most importantly, don’t break those two bull horns on your head."

"..." Ethan Ellsworth waved his hand, indicating he understood.

So, after a while, Chloe Marshall said with a smile, "My child, your father has been gone for so long. Why isn’t he back yet?"

Red Boy lay down. "Don’t count on it. He must have gone to his concubine’s place again. Forget it, I don’t want to eat Monk’s flesh anymore. It’s true what they say, only a mother’s love is true in this world. You can’t count on Daddy."

This sorrowful, sighing tone made both Ethan Ellsworth and Chloe Marshall chuckle.

"Alright, now it’s time for bed."

Chloe Marshall turned off the light.

A short while later, after hearing her even breathing, Ethan Ellsworth quietly moved her to the inside of the bed and lay down in Dorothy’s spot, just as he did whenever Dorothy slept there.

Ethan Ellsworth held Chloe Marshall. Neither of them looked sleepy. With their eyes wide open, Chloe said worriedly, "I wonder how Nora is doing over there. It’s been over a month. That Toby Dalton is not someone to be trifled with."

Ethan Ellsworth rested his chin on her head and held her a little tighter. "It’s okay. Quentin won’t let anything happen to her. Speaking of which, it’s because of Dorothy’s godfather that Quentin got tangled up with Toby Dalton in the first place. My show just finished filming today, so I had the company schedule a trip to Grestin. I have to go to Grestin to shoot a commercial, so I can go openly and naturally."

"By yourself? No way." Chloe Marshall immediately objected upon hearing this.

"It’s fine. Quentin is going with me. My official purpose is work, while Quentin is going to implement our plan there. For the past few days, Toby Dalton has been deliberately publicizing a banquet he’s hosting at the number one hotel in Grestin’s Capital. It’s such an obvious trap. It would be a shame not to go and appreciate all the effort he’s put into setting it up. Besides, Nora will definitely be there. We’ll find a time to meet with her privately and have her tell us about the structure of Toby Dalton’s operations."

"As long as Quentin is with you, I can rest easy."

Ethan Ellsworth’s smooth, mellow voice sounded by her ear. "Don’t worry, we’ll come back safely. I still want to have another little baby with you."

Chloe Marshall pressed her face against his chest. "I’m willing."

Ethan Ellsworth lowered his head and kissed her forehead, his kisses gradually trailing down to her eyes, nose, lips, collarbone...

Even though they had been married for a while, their feelings for each other had only grown stronger. This kind of loving care from her husband and the warmth of their family made Chloe Marshall feel she must have done something truly good in her past life to be so lucky in this one.

She automatically ignored the hardships of the past few years and chose to look forward. Dwelling on the past wouldn’t solve anything; it would only bring her more worries.

"Boss Ellsworth... I love you..."

He pulled the thin blanket up. "Wife, I love you too. Be good. This period of filming has been torture for me. And in two days, I have to go to Grestin. How am I supposed to endure the agony of missing you? Tonight, you have to properly, and thoroughly, make it up to me."

Chloe Marshall murmured in a low voice, "While you were filming, I could only visit the set during the day and watch, and you were so busy. But your show is finally finished. Tonight... I’m yours... Don’t hold back... Do whatever you want with me..."

Hearing this, what was Ethan Ellsworth waiting for? He pulled the covers over their heads and began to ravish his wife endlessly.
