"Good. You’d better not. Or I’ll strangle you."

Jean Grant flinched. She could tell her mother wasn’t just making an empty threat.

"I won’t. I promise, okay?"

Hearing this, Mrs. Grant finally nodded. "I gave birth to you. I’d like to think you’re not that stupid."

Jean Grant felt a little uncomfortable. "Okay, Mom, I’m heading back now. I’ll come see Grandma again tomorrow."

Mrs. Grant waved her hand dismissively. "Go on."

Jean Grant immediately left the Grant Residence and got into her car, her emotions a complicated, unspoken mess.

「Back at the Ainsworth estate.」

Mr. Ainsworth was in the living room watching a soccer match. When he saw her return, he asked, "How’s your grandmother?"

"It’s hard to say. My mom said they’ll see how she does at home for a few days, and if she doesn’t get better, they’ll move her to a hospital. It’s an old ailment."

Mr. Ainsworth nodded, then said, "Jean, come sit down."

Jean Grant sat down across from him without a word.

Mr. Ainsworth continued, "You and Nicholas are married now. He has a lot of stress from work, so you should be more understanding. It’s about time you two had a child."

Jean Grant nodded. "I know."

Mr. Ainsworth nodded. "It’s good that you know. Nicholas isn’t getting any younger. It would be much better for you to have a child."

Jean Grant stood up. "If there’s nothing else, I’ll head upstairs."

"Oh, all right."

As soon as Jean Grant entered the bedroom, she saw Nicholas Ainsworth lying on the bed.

She was a little surprised. "So you’ve been home all this time? You didn’t go to work?"

Nicholas Ainsworth grunted in acknowledgment and slowly sat up. "What did you go home for?"

"My grandma’s sick, so I went to check on her. I happened to run into my brother, and I mentioned wanting to work at his company."

Nicholas Ainsworth looked at her. "What’d your brother say?"

"He said my major doesn’t match and offered to find me a nursing job at a hospital. I turned him down."

Hearing that, Nicholas Ainsworth snorted. "That’s your brother being wary of you. I figured as much. He was never going to let you work at Grant Group."

"If he won’t let me, then I won’t. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t even want to go."

Nicholas Ainsworth took her hand. "The reason your brother won’t let you join is probably because he thinks you’re trying to fight for the inheritance. After all, there’s only the two of you, right? And now that you’re married, the Grant Group will belong to him alone. That’s a bit unfair, Jean. You’re your parents’ daughter, too. Just because you’re not a boy, you don’t get a single share of such a massive company? Did you know that Sharon holds five percent of the shares in the Ainsworth Group?"

This was the first Jean Grant had heard that the Ainsworth Group actually included shares for Sharon Ainsworth. "Sharon has shares? I’ve never seen her at the company."

Nicholas Ainsworth laughed. "She doesn’t know the first thing about business, but the annual five-percent dividend is a lot of money. Even if she does absolutely nothing, she still has plenty to spend. I really don’t get why your parents didn’t give you any shares at all."

Jean Grant fell silent, then lay down on the bed. "Even if my parents don’t give me a single cent, I can’t do anything to harm the Grant Group. My mom warned me today."

"About what?"

She said, "If I do anything to harm the Grant Group, she’ll disown me and strangle me."

"She’s just trying to scare you. What kind of mother would really do that to her own daughter? Jean..." Nicholas Ainsworth turned on his side. "Think about it. Once we have our own child, don’t you want to give them the best of everything? The Ainsworth Group is completely overshadowed by the Grant Family; we never have any real say."

Jean Grant scoffed, "There’s no way for me to get into Grant Group. My brother will never let me in. What can I do? Nicholas, I’m just one woman. I don’t have the power to make the Grant Group change hands. If I were that capable, there are plenty of others more capable than me. The Grant Group would have collapsed long ago."

Nicholas Ainsworth’s eyes narrowed for a moment, then he suddenly smiled. "Fine. I’m not asking you to make the Grant Family change hands. Don’t overthink it. Your main job right now is to have a baby as soon as possible—the fruit of our love."

Jean Grant nodded. "Okay."

From Master Grant to its current head, Quentin Grant, the Grant Group had now been successfully established for fifty-two years.

This year marked the Grant Group’s 52nd anniversary.

The Grant Group was holding an internal celebration.

They had invited many international celebrities, superstars, and models to perform, making it feel like a small concert.

That evening, Quentin Grant went all out and booked the entire Seagull Hotel, where senior executives from all of Grant Group’s global branches gathered to celebrate.

Many local models were also hired to attend and drink with the guests.

Quentin Grant had called home early, telling his two little treasures to go to sleep after dinner and that he would be back late.

The two little treasures obediently agreed.

But when eight o’clock rolled around and their daddy still wasn’t back, the boys couldn’t sit still any longer.

"Bro, should we go check on him? I’m not worried about him not coming home, I’m worried he’ll fall into some woman’s trap."

Dylan Grant thought for a moment, then said calmly, "Let’s wait a little longer. If he’s not back by nine, we’ll go drag him back ourselves."

Elmer Grant nodded, and the two boys continued to wait.

The seconds ticked by, one after another.

TICK-TOCK... The clock struck nine. Dylan Grant leaped off the bed, opened the closet, and tossed a set of clothes to Elmer Grant while grabbing one for himself. "Change. We’re going out to find Daddy."

Elmer Grant caught them and changed quickly, also grabbing the two pistols and a small leather whip from the drawer.

They went to the backyard and called for Monty.

Once in the front yard, Dylan Grant beckoned to the captain of the Men in Black. "Come here."

The man in black ran over and bent down to look at him. "Young Master, what are your orders?"

"We’re going out. You’re driving. Take us."

The captain asked, "Where are you two young masters heading?"

"You’ll know when we get there. Stop with all the questions and hurry up. And don’t you dare tell our daddy."

The captain’s face fell. "My little lords, if I don’t tell the Young Master and something happens to you two, I’m a dead man."

"Keep dawdling and this young master will personally shoot you. Now go!"

Elmer Grant’s furious roar sent the captain of the Men in Black scrambling to obey.

The moment the car pulled up in front of them, Dylan Grant yanked open the door, and Monty was the first to slither in.

The two boys followed one after the other.

The car slowly pulled out of the Grant Residence.

The captain turned back to ask, "Where are we go—AH! OH MY GOD! AHH!"

The instant he turned, he came face-to-face with Monty, which scared the living daylights out of him.

The car screeched to a halt.

"Young masters... going out is one thing... but why did you have to bring Monty? I nearly died of fright just now."

Elmer Grant chuckled. "He’s not going to eat you, so what are you afraid of? Besides, with Monty, we’re not afraid of anything, wherever we go."

Dylan Grant moved to the front passenger seat. "Captain, stop wasting time. Drive. To my daddy’s location."

"Right."

The captain drove to the entrance of the Seagull Hotel. "Today’s the Grant Group’s 52nd-anniversary celebration. The banquet tonight is being held here."

"Mhm. Captain, you can wait for us in the car by the entrance."

"Then... are you taking Monty inside?"

"Of course not. Monty would scare people if we brought him in..."

"No! I don’t want to stay in the car! It’s my duty to protect the young masters! Just let me follow behind you," he pleaded, his voice on the verge of tears. "Otherwise, when you come back, you’ll find my corpse!"

Elmer Grant said with contempt, "Captain, look at you, what a coward. Monty’s not going to do anything to you. What are you so afraid of?"

"How can I not be afraid... I..."

Dylan Grant cut them off. "All right, the captain can come with us."

Hearing this, the captain finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Leaving Monty alone in the car... to watch over it.

And so, one adult and two children walked into the Seagull Hotel.

They took the elevator to the second-floor hall but didn’t find Quentin Grant.

He wasn’t on the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, or seventh floors either.

Finally, they asked the lobby manager and learned that Quentin Grant had been drunk under the table and was taken to the presidential suite to rest.

When the two boys heard this, they were instantly furious.

’Mommy isn’t home. If we don’t keep an eye on Daddy, he might do something wrong!’

’Besides, there are so many shameless women these days; it’s impossible to guard against all of them.’

And so, the two boys and the captain arrived at the door of the presidential suite.

The captain said sheepishly, "Little masters, I’ll wait for you at the door."

Elmer Grant chuckled. "Afraid of getting blood spattered on you, are we?"

"Your subordinate... isn’t afraid of getting blood on me... Your subordinate... is afraid of not making it out alive!"

"Fine, just stand here."

The captain of the Men in Black handed him a spare key card he had acquired.

Dylan Grant inserted the key card, and the door immediately clicked open.

They walked in, and the man in black took the initiative to slot the key card into the wall panel, instantly turning on the lights.

A woman’s voice called out from inside, "Who’s there?!"

The two brothers exchanged a look but continued walking further in.

They didn’t know what to expect, but one look was all it took for countless sparks of fury to ignite in their chests.

’Knew it. If we’d been even a step later, something would have happened.’

"Excuse me, miss, but what are you doing naked next to our daddy’s bed?" Dylan Grant asked, a smile on his face that didn’t reach his eyes.

Hearing this, the female model quickly threw on her clothes.

"Oh, little ones, I wasn’t doing anything bad. I’m a model, and I was just about to practice my catwalk. Just training."

Elmer Grant chuckled. "Miss, you have a really nice figure."

"But of course. I’ve never been married, so naturally, my figure is perfect. How did you two get in?"

The two boys smiled faintly. "An uncle opened the door and let us in."

The model let out a little laugh. "Why didn’t your mommy come?"

"Our mommy’s at home. She didn’t come."

"Then aren’t you going to call and tell your mommy that there’s a pretty lady on your daddy’s bed?"

Dylan Grant sneered. "Miss, are you pretty? What part of you is pretty? Your butt?"

The model hadn’t expected children so young to speak so... crudely.

"You don’t think I’m pretty?"

Elmer Grant burst out laughing. "Miss, your nose is crooked from plastic surgery, your eyes are like a dead fish’s, and your mouth? It’s as big as a catfish’s. Pretty? Stop trying to fool us kids, will you? That’s very immoral."

"You two..."

Dylan Grant ignored her, walked to the bedside, picked up a pitcher of cold water from the table, and poured it directly onto Quentin Grant’s face.

He even made sure to pour some right up his nose.

The shock of the water jolted Quentin Grant awake.

He sat up, saw his two boys, then looked at the strange woman, and asked coldly, "Who let the female gorilla out of the zoo?"
