"So how are you planning to completely captivate Quentin Grant?" Nora Ainsworth opened her closet and took out a high-quality evening gown.

"Naturally, I have a few tricks up my sleeve."

"Is this custom-made evening gown you had made for me pretty?" Nora Ainsworth held it up against herself.

"It’s beautiful and sexy, especially the back."

Nora Ainsworth looked down. The back was exposed. She remembered the red birthmark she’d seen in the bathroom and said, "It’s so revealing. Do you want me to wear this for other men to see?"

Just as she’d expected, Toby Dalton’s eyes darkened. "Change it."

The corners of Nora Ainsworth’s mouth lifted slightly. She took out a sapphire-blue evening dress and said, "This one is better."

Toby Dalton looked at it and nodded in satisfaction. "In ten days, it’s my birthday. I’m going to throw a huge birthday banquet. Wear this. I’m not worried he won’t come then."

Nora Ainsworth chuckled lightly. "Okay."

A fine mist fell that morning. When Holly Wood, holding an umbrella, rushed to the hospital room, she found Maeve Sutton was also there. A flower basket filled with fruit sat on the table.

She stood at the door, walked in with a smile, and closed the door behind her. "Mom," she called out, "didn’t you say yesterday that the chicken soup my mother made was good? I had her make some more for you."

Mrs. Lynch didn’t say much, just gave a faint "Mm."

Maeve Sutton sat to the side, watching her open the food container. A rich aroma wafted out; just from the smell, it seemed delicious.

Holly Wood ladled out a bowl and handed it to Mrs. Lynch, then put the lid back on the container to keep the rest from getting cold.

"Maeve, if there’s nothing else, you can head back."

Maeve Sutton stood up awkwardly and nodded. "Mrs. Lynch, please rest well. I’ll come see you another day."

Mrs. Lynch simply grunted in acknowledgment.

After Maeve left, Holly Wood sat to the side and started peeling an apple. "Mom, thank you."

Mrs. Lynch raised her eyes. "What are you thanking me for?"

"Thank you for not embarrassing me in front of her."

Mrs. Lynch snorted uncomfortably. "I was tempted to humiliate you in front of her. But since you’ve married Leon, you’re part of the Lynch Family. No matter how bad things are, I can’t criticize you in front of an outsider. I at least know that much."

Holly Wood pressed her lips together. "Mm. Mom, don’t worry. I’ll be good to you, Dad, and Leon."

Mrs. Lynch shot her a look. "Who needs you to be good to me? I don’t care about that. What’s crucial is that you get pregnant soon and give our Lynch Family a grandson."

"What if I have a daughter?"

"A daughter... is still Leon’s child, after all."

Holly’s heart settled. "Here, Mom, eat this apple. You need to be in a good mood for your injury to heal quickly. Don’t be angry. If you really can’t stand it, you can just hit me to let off some steam."

Mrs. Lynch closed her eyes. "You need to prioritize having a child, but don’t overdo it with Leon in the bedroom. I know you young people can’t control yourselves, so I’m just giving you a little reminder."

Holly’s face instantly turned red. She nodded. "Okay."

Leaving the hospital, Holly Wood was surprised to find that after all the time she had spent in the room, Maeve Sutton had been waiting outside for her.

"You don’t look that old, but you’re quite crafty, little girl. Successfully marrying Leon... that’s no small feat."

A scornful smile touched Holly’s lips. "How could my abilities compare to yours, Miss Sutton? You’re always trying to harm people, with all your family’s money and power. But I’ve found that even if someone is richer than poor people like us, what they can’t have, they’ll never get. No matter how many schemes they devise or how many things they do that go against their conscience, Heaven won’t favor someone with such a twisted mind."

"People can get divorced after they marry. Haven’t you heard? Those who work hard will win in the end. It’s just a matter of time. Little girl, if you and Leon ever get a divorce, I imagine life won’t be very pleasant for you and your entire family, will it?"

Holly’s face hardened. "Well, I’m sorry, but we won’t be getting a divorce. I’m afraid you’re doomed to be disappointed. If no one wants you by then, the loss will far outweigh the gain. Give up on your crooked ideas. There are plenty of good men in the world. Leon is already married, yet you’re still stubbornly obsessed. That’s not something a normal person would do. You’re becoming pathological. Just stop."

Maeve Sutton clenched her fists, her heart simmering with rage. Unable to endure it any longer, she looked at the people behind her. "Get her in the car."

Holly turned and ran. Several men chased after her. Just as they were about to catch her, a pair of twins suddenly ran over.

Maeve Sutton saw this from a distance and walked closer.

The two darlings looked up, a smile not reaching their eyes. Dylan Grant spoke first, "Sirs, what are you doing chasing our godmother in broad daylight?"

The men looked at the two little brats before them, confused. "Godmother?"

"That’s right," Elmer Grant answered.

"And you are...?"

"We’re Quentin Grant’s sons."

Hearing this, the men’s expressions changed immediately. They looked back at Maeve Sutton, who was walking toward them, and one stepped forward to say, "Quentin Grant’s children..."

Maeve Sutton raised her hand and said in a low voice, "I know."

She could tell just by looking at their faces.

Holly Wood took the two boys’ hands. "Maeve, you can come after me, but you are not to harm these children."

Dylan Grant said coolly, "Godmother, you don’t need to be afraid. She wouldn’t have the nerve to touch us."

Maeve indeed didn’t dare to touch them. Few people would dare to lay a hand on a child from the Grant Family.

She crouched down, looked at the twins before her, and forced a smile. "Auntie used to know your mother. We were friends, so of course I wouldn’t hurt you. You two are out here all by yourselves. Where’s your mommy?"

"Do we have to tell you? Old lady."

Maeve Sutton could no longer force a smile. She stood up. "We’re leaving."

Watching them leave, Holly finally let out a breath of relief. "Thank you, you two. But who did you come out with?"

"No one. Just the two of us."

Holly found this incredible. "Darlings, how about your godmother takes you home? It’s too dangerous for the two of you on the streets. There are all kinds of people, including bad guys who specifically kidnap children."

"It’s okay, we can get back on our own."

Holly insisted, "No, your godmother can’t rest easy."

With that, Holly took the two boys to a bus stop to wait for the bus.

When the bus arrived, the three of them got on.

Finding only one empty seat, Holly had the two boys squeeze in and sit there. But the two little gentlemen asked her to sit, saying she was the elder and they were just kids, so it was fine for them to stand.

Holly agreed. She was very fond of these two children—they were precocious, sensible, and knew a lot.

The bus started and stopped. After a while, just one stop before the high-end residential complex, the bus stopped and an old man in his fifties got on.

He stood next to Holly. She didn’t pay him any mind at first, but then the old man spoke to her, "Hey, you. Get up. Give me the seat."

Holly was stunned for a moment. Just as she was about to get up, the old man plopped right down on her lap.

"What are you doing!" Holly shoved him instinctively.

After she pushed the old man off her lap, he turned and slapped her across the face. Holly was completely stunned.

Seeing this, Elmer and Dylan Grant rushed forward. Each grabbed a leg and bit down hard on his thighs.

The old man let out a bloodcurdling scream, and the passengers on the bus just looked at each other. It was clear no one wanted to get involved.

The driver stopped the bus.

He asked what was happening.

Dylan Grant immediately shouted, "Sir, this old man was harassing our godmother by sitting on her lap!"

Hearing this, the driver immediately said, "I’m calling the police."

The old man panicked. He looked left and right. His legs throbbed with pain where the two kids had bitten him; it felt like they’d nearly torn the flesh off.

"She was the rude one! She saw me get on, stand next to her, and ask her to give up her seat, but she refused. I had no choice but to..."

Elmer Grant snorted. "Mister, are you seventy or eighty years old? Or are you disabled and can’t walk? Or maybe you’re pregnant? My godmother was about to give you the seat, but who knew you’d harass her in public? We have to call the police!"

The police arrived quickly. As soon as they saw the two boys and understood the situation, they immediately took the man away.

Holly and the two boys got off the bus and walked the one remaining stop back to the high-end residential complex.

After taking the boys home, Holly was escorted back by the Men in Black.

Dorothy Ellsworth had been waiting for the two of them for a while. When she saw them return, she stood up and asked, "Where did you two go? I came to play, but you were gone."

"We went out for a walk and ran into some bad guys chasing our godmother. Then she brought us back."

Dorothy Ellsworth grabbed his hand. "Dylan, let’s go play with mud, okay? We can make clay figures."

Elmer Grant agreed. "Yeah, yeah, let’s go."

Dylan Grant naturally wouldn’t object. He would grant basically any request Dorothy Ellsworth made.

The three little friends went to a spot where the soil was clay-like.

They sat together, hands covered in mud, pounding and pressing it on a piece of marble. Dorothy Ellsworth pulled out a picture book. "Look, I brought instructions on how to make people out of clay. We can learn! Okay, how about this: you two make a boy, and I’ll make a girl. We’ll see who does a better job."

"No problem."

The three children sat in a circle, their heads bowed in concentration.

Cheerful laughter rang out from time to time.

When the clay figures were done, Dorothy Ellsworth cheered, "Dylan did a great job! Elmer’s figure’s arm fell off."

Dylan Grant smiled at her. "Dorothy, yours looks great too. A beautiful little princess."

Dorothy Ellsworth fiddled with her clay figure, then placed it in the sunniest spot to dry. "It’ll be ready once it’s dry. Wait, I’m going to make a little drum, too. I’ll dry it, then get a little stick with a ball on the end, and if I hit it, it’ll really be a little drum."

"Wow, our Dorothy is on her way to becoming multi-talented. Not only can she sing, dance, and draw, but she can also make clay figures."

Dorothy Ellsworth squatted back down, smiled confidently, and said in a sweet, childish voice, "Of course! Don’t you know who I am? Huh? What’s this?"

She pointed to a small protrusion between the legs of the clay figure Dylan had made.

Elmer Grant chuckled. "Dorothy, you wouldn’t understand. That’s where we boys pee from."

"Then why don’t I have one?" Dorothy Ellsworth frowned.
