Chapter 527 - 521: Dealing with the Vile Mother-Daughter Duo

"I heard Quentin Grant’s twin sons have extremely high IQs. They don’t think like normal children at all. If they were just average kids, we would’ve tricked all three children long ago. After what happened, the Grant Family will have even tighter security. We won’t get another chance to trick them."

"If we can’t trick them, we can just take them by force. Besides, didn’t you say you’d help me after you deal with Lillian Bancroft at the end of October?"

Toby Dalton stepped forward and hugged her. "I’ll only have the energy to deal with him after things with Lillian Bancroft are settled."

"So, is Quentin Grant really willing to come to Grestin, no matter the cost?"

"I can’t figure him out. I don’t know if he’s just trying to intimidate me or if he’s actually coming."

Saphira Sutton wrapped her arms around his waist. "I don’t think he’d actually go that far. After all, you have plenty of men yourself. Even though he has a better chance of winning, he’d still suffer heavy losses."

"We’ll wait and see."

To make it easier to care for her, Dorothy was brought back home.

Quentin Grant had just returned home when his phone rang. After hearing the news, he scoffed. "Bring them directly to me."

Nora Ainsworth stood up. "Quentin, who are you bringing to our home?"

"That Toby Dalton sure moves fast. He must be feeling guilty. He’s sent Claire Sinclair and Catherine Callahan back. They’ll arrive this afternoon."

"I’ll go tell Mom the news." She turned and hurried upstairs.

She pushed open Faye Sinclair’s door and said eagerly, "Mom, Claire Sinclair and Catherine Callahan are being brought to our house this afternoon."

Faye froze, seemingly unable to believe they had been caught so quickly. "Did Quentin bring them back?"

"No." Nora Ainsworth sat beside her and explained, "Toby Dalton sent them back from Grestin himself. Mom, do you want to see them?"

Faye Sinclair nodded, her expression grim. "See them? Of course, I’ll see them. The person who hurt me so deeply... I have to see her. I have to look her in the eye and make it clear that when you’ve done the worst things imaginable, fate itself will come to collect its due."

"Okay, Mom. Should we notify Dad?"

Faye Sinclair suddenly became agitated and protested urgently, "No! I don’t want to see him!"

Nora Ainsworth hugged her. "Okay, okay, Mom, don’t get upset. We won’t see him, then."

As Faye Sinclair gradually calmed down, Nora Ainsworth realized for the first time just how deeply her mother resented her father.

’It was no wonder. A woman wasn’t a saint, but a human being with a soul. Over more than a decade, her heart had been tortured until it was in tatters.’

’Like a stagnant pond, no ripples could be stirred within it anymore.’

Faye Sinclair looked at her. "Nora, let me use your makeup. I can’t see Claire Sinclair looking like this. I want her to see just how well I’m living now."

"Come with me, Mom. I’ll do your makeup for you."

"I’m going to take a bath first."

A smile touched Nora Ainsworth’s eyes. "Okay, you go ahead and wash up. Just call me when you’re done."

"Okay."

Nora Ainsworth went downstairs and had one of the Men in Black go to Zoe Ellsworth’s to buy an elegant, high-end outfit. She was just about to check on Elmer Grant when Dylan Grant ran out of the room. "Mommy, Elmer’s awake!"

Quentin Grant shot to his feet and hurried to the room with Nora Ainsworth.

"Elmer..." Nora Ainsworth and Quentin Grant approached the bed. Seeing their son’s slightly open eyes, they both finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Mommy... Daddy..." Elmer Grant’s voice was weak. "It was Dorothy... She insisted on going with that woman... I tried to pull her back... but she wouldn’t listen to me..."

Nora Ainsworth reached out and wiped the tears from the corner of his eye, her heart aching for him. "Mommy and Daddy know. You’re a good boy, Elmer. You need to get better soon."

"Mommy, how is... Dorothy?"

"Dorothy woke up before you did. She’s already home recovering. Both you and Dorothy need to get well soon."

"Okay."

After they talked for a little while, Nora Ainsworth took the clothes she’d bought and went upstairs, leaving Quentin Grant and his two sons talking in the room.

By the afternoon, Claire Sinclair and Catherine Callahan had arrived in Fravia. They weren’t taken to the police but were brought directly to Quentin Grant’s home.

Quentin Grant, Nora Ainsworth, Sierra Ainsworth, Faye Sinclair, and Dylan Grant all sat waiting for the two women to be brought in.

The living room was eerily quiet until the distinct, chaotic sound of footsteps came from outside. All eyes turned to the doorway.

Claire Sinclair and Catherine Callahan were marched in by four Men in Black, bound in handcuffs and leg shackles, and treated like common criminals.

They were pushed straight to the floor and forced to kneel before Faye Sinclair.

Claire Sinclair lifted her head, and her eyes met Faye Sinclair’s.

Her body suddenly slumped to the floor, as if she had lost all support.

Her lips parted, and Claire Sinclair finally choked out, "Sister..."

Before the word was even fully out, a sharp slap landed across her face. Faye Sinclair stood up, her hand trembling slightly as she roared, "You shut your mouth!"

Claire Sinclair’s cheek burned from the slap. Clutching her face, she continued, "Even if I shut up, you’re still my sister! Even if you refuse to admit it!"

Sierra Ainsworth stepped forward to help Faye Sinclair sit back down. "Mom, why dirty your hands on this bitch? I have plenty of energy. Let me be the one to teach this heartless monster a lesson for you!"

"Have you no respect for your elders!" Claire Sinclair retorted, unwilling to back down. "I am your mother’s biological sister! You should be calling me ’Aunt.’ Not only do you refuse, you’re also disrespectful to me."

Sierra Ainsworth slapped her twice, leaving Claire Sinclair’s head spinning. "If you actually remembered you were my mother’s sister, would you have hurt her like that? ’Aunt?’ I’d rather spit in your face! Claire Sinclair, you’re not going to make it through tonight. I’m going to beat you to a pulp today!"

Sierra Ainsworth unleashed all her pent-up resentment, showing no mercy with her blows. Faye Sinclair watched with cold detachment as her sister was beaten until she begged for mercy. Only when Claire was sprawled on the ground, unable to even straighten her back, did Faye stop Sierra.

"Mom, just let me kill her!"

"We can deal with her in a moment. It won’t be too late." Faye Sinclair looked down at her. "Qing, this is the last time you will see me, and the last time I will see you. You didn’t just hurt me; you hurt my two daughters as well. A person like you... you’d be better off going down to the underworld to explain yourself to Mom and Dad. I imagine if they are aware, they’re already waiting for you. So just go. Go and keep them company, and be a good, filial daughter to them."

Claire Sinclair began to tremble violently. She shuffled on her knees over to Faye Sinclair’s legs and clutched at her feet, her voice a choked sob. "Sister... Sister, please, just spare me this one time, please? Sister, I was wrong. I was really wrong. Please spare me... I don’t want to die... I’m still young... I don’t want to die..."

Hearing Faye Sinclair’s words, Catherine Callahan had already collapsed to the floor in a stupor. ’If they kill my mother,’ she thought, ’then I definitely won’t survive either.’

"Whether you want to die is your problem. Whether or not you get to live is our decision." A hateful smile touched her lips. "From the moment you stole my husband, took my place, and harmed me and my daughters, we ceased to be sisters!"

"No matter what I did to you, I never tried to kill you! If you kill me, how will you be able to face Mom and Dad!?"

"That’s not for you to worry about," she said coolly, then looked at Quentin Grant. "Quentin, dispose of her. Bury her in front of your grandparents’ grave."

"Understood." Quentin Grant called toward the door, "Men!"

The Men in Black marched in in unison. "Young Master!"

"Execute the mother and daughter. Cremate them immediately."

Hearing this, Claire Sinclair finally realized she had no hope left. She wet herself in terror—she literally pissed her pants. When the Men in Black pulled her to her feet, a large, dark patch had soaked through her pants, and the puddle on the floor was obvious.

In a final struggle, she roared at Faye Sinclair, "You stole my man! I was the one who met Luna first! It was me! Why should he have liked you? Faye Sinclair, how am I any worse than you? I even look exactly like you! You’ll be struck down by heaven for this! You’ll die a horrible death!"

Quentin Grant’s brow furrowed. "Get her out of here!"

Claire Sinclair was quickly dragged away. Her shrieks continued, but the sound gradually faded until it was gone.

When Catherine Callahan was dragged away, her eyes were already vacant, as if she had been struck dumb. In contrast to Claire Sinclair’s loud tantrum, she was exceptionally quiet, which was not her style.

Just as they reached the door, Nora Ainsworth called out, "Wait!"

The Men in Black stopped immediately. Nora Ainsworth walked up to Catherine Callahan. "You’re about to die. To be honest, it wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t say a few words before you go. After all, you’re like a cockroach that just won’t die, always so full of schemes. It’s a real pity a woman like you never amounted to anything in this life."

Catherine Callahan spoke. "Nora Ainsworth, I’ll consider it my bad luck to have fallen into your hands. But don’t you get too cocky. Even without me, Catherine Callahan, there will still be people who want to kill your entire family. Just you wait and see!"

"I’ll be waiting. My whole family will be waiting. How many times have you tried to kill me, and yet, am I not still alive and well? You shouldn’t be so overconfident. Look at the pitiful state you’ve ended up in. Letting you die so easily would be too kind. I’m thinking of a more... interesting way for you to die. I’m sure you’ll love it."

Nora Ainsworth looked back. "I want to execute her myself. After all, dying at my hands... at least her life won’t have been a complete waste!"

Quentin Grant, of course, knew how many times Nora had been tormented by Catherine Callahan, nearly losing her life on several occasions. He said at once, "Don’t wear yourself out. If you get tired, just hand her over to the Men in Black."

"Okay."

She shot Catherine Callahan a smile. Catherine’s initial resolve to face death with courage began to crumble into horror. Facing death wasn’t what was terrifying; what was terrifying was not knowing what kind of death she would face.

She was forced into a car. One of the Men in Black drove while Nora Ainsworth sat in the passenger seat. Two other Men in Black sat in the back with her as guards.

The car drove through long streets, wound its way up a mountain road, and then moved slowly along a narrow path.

Upon reaching the summit, the car stopped abruptly, and two of the Men in Black pulled Catherine Callahan from the vehicle.

Nora Ainsworth got out and led the way toward a house up ahead, with the three Men in Black following behind.

Finally, they stopped in front of the door. She turned and smiled at Catherine Callahan. "You really are a piece of work. I went to a lot of trouble to arrange a comfortable death for you. I hope you like it."
