Chapter 1525 - 1517: Wherever My Eyes Fall, There is Eternity: Let Me Try Again

For many years, Lorelei Howard had never been so assertive. Daxton Lancaster was the future head of the Lancaster Family, and with the elder master supporting him, even she as a mother dared not interfere too much.

Yet, in this matter, her attitude was unusually resolute, insisting on taking her son and daughter-in-law to the hospital for an examination.

Coming out of his mother’s residence, Daxton’s slightly misty phoenix eyes were darker than the night.

If he went to the hospital for a check-up, his secret would be revealed. He was the head of the Lancaster Family, and more importantly, a man.

The fact that he had hidden health issues must never be known to others!

Even if that person was his own parents.

If his parents found out he couldn’t have children, let alone how shocked they’d be, Daxton dared to assert they would definitely go and tell his grandfather.

If this got to grandfather, then it would no longer be a secret...

No, he must not let his parents know, absolutely not!

When Daxton returned to his residence, it was almost ten o’clock. A servant walked up and respectfully addressed him as "Family Head." Daxton responded indifferently, "Where is Madam?"

"Family Head, Madam has already returned to her room to rest," the servant replied respectfully.

Daxton walked into the hall, "Make me some dishes to go with alcohol."

It was already eleven o’clock, and Daxton had not gone back to his room to rest. He sat alone on the sofa, with a dish of peanuts and a dish of stir-fried celery with meat in front of him.

The man’s face was pale, the more he drank, the less color there was on his face. His slender fingers pinched a wine cup, his misty eyes fixed somewhere, lost in thought.

Outside, the night was deep. The large courtyard of the Lancaster Family was deathly silent. The streetlights standing on both sides of the road had also gone out, as past ten o’clock, all the streetlights in the Lancaster courtyard would be turned off.

While others

get more confused the more they drink, Daxton Lancaster felt increasingly clear-headed. Before leaving his mother’s residence, he had made an agreement with her: if there was no change with his wife in a month, they would go to the hospital for a check-up.

A month might feel long for those eagerly waiting for something, but for Daxton, it was so short.

So short that he feared he wouldn’t fulfill his promise by the agreed time.

Another half hour passed, watching the Family Head still drinking alone on the sofa, a servant cautiously approached.

"Family Head, it’s getting late. You should go back to your room to rest."

Daxton snapped out of his thoughts, momentarily dazed as he looked at the servant, then responded with a sound and set the wine cup down, heading towards the stairs.

In the bedroom, Violet Zimmerman left a bedside lamp on, lying on her side on the bed, propping her chin with one hand facing the room’s direction.

Daxton came to the bed and stared at his sleeping wife, only he himself truly knew how his heart struggled.

Whether it was for the position of Family Head or his own image, he could not let anyone find out his secret.

If people from the second branch learned about it, he would lose not only the position of the Lancaster Family head but fear he could never hold his head high for life.

His slightly tense phoenix eyes suddenly widened. Daxton leaned in, pinching Violet’s chin, and crushed her soft lips fiercely.

A strong smell of alcohol assaulted the senses, breath was blocked, Violet frowned in discontent, blinking groggily awake. In her view was the man’s pale, bloodless face.

Sharp-featured, yet with phoenix eyes tinged unusually red.

"Daxton?" Violet pushed Daxton’s chin away, looking at him confusedly. Daxton let out a long breath, "Let me try one more time."

If it still didn’t work, he could only be ruthless.
