Chapter 1501 - 1493: Wherever the Gaze Falls, There Lies Eternity (Part 14)
"Violet, are you still not done washing?"
Seeing that Violet Zimmerman was taking her time to come out, Daxton Lancaster stood up and walked over. Only then did Violet slowly emerge from the washroom, leaning against the door frame, looking at Daxton, "Daxton, I..."
It seemed Daxton knew what Violet was frustrated about; he smiled, grabbed her wrist, and led her to the dressing table, seating her in the chair, and said with a smile.
"We are husband and wife."
"You’re not disgusted with me?" Violet lifted her face, looking at the man who was propping up her shoulder.
"Disgusted with what? I, Daxton Lancaster, married such a beautiful wife, it’s a blessing from my past life!" The man’s phoenix eyes were smiling, his expression gentle.
Violet’s heart felt as sweet as if it were flowing with honey. She grabbed Daxton’s wrist with her hand and leaned her head against his arm.
Daxton looked down at the woman acting coy on his hand, "Violet, I brought you a pair of earrings."
"What earrings? Are they pretty?" Violet turned her head back, asking curiously.
"I’ll show you now."
Violet’s eyes closely followed the slender man as he walked to the sofa, opened his briefcase, took out a small box, and then returned.
"Open it and take a look." Daxton handed the red brocade box to Violet, who bit her lip lightly, took it, and carefully opened it.
A pair of emeralds came into view, with small hooks on top and a gem hanging below.
Although Violet’s family was well-off, she had never bought such expensive jewelry before, though she did have several pairs of gold earrings and gold rings.
The green emeralds reflected the sunlight, sparkling as if touched with dew.
"So beautiful!" Violet couldn’t help but exclaim. Holding the brocade box, she looked at Daxton, "Isn’t it very expensive?"
Seeing the genuine joy on her face, Daxton’s eyes turned gentle, and instead of telling Violet the earrings’ value, he said.
"You’re the matriarch of the Lancaster Family, wearing this truly suits your status!" Some things he couldn’t give, he could only make up for with material means.
"Thank you, Daxton." Violet said sincerely, looking at the man’s phoenix eyes, and pushed the earrings back to him, "Help me put them on."
"Okay." Daxton took the brocade box and placed it on the dressing table in front, took a piece, and began helping Violet put it on.
"Big brother, sister-in-law, why are you two still in the room? It’s time for dinner!"
Joseph Lancaster’s voice sounded from outside the door, his voice reaching before he did.
Seeing his brother and sister-in-law in front of the dressing table, he curiously walked over.
"Big brother? What are you and sister-in-law doing?"
"Your brother is helping me put on earrings."
Violet glanced at her brother-in-law through the dressing mirror. Joseph let out an "oh," not having been in love, and witnessing a woman putting on earrings for the first time, he curiously tilted his head to watch.
Whether it was due to Daxton’s nervousness or his first time assisting a woman with jewelry, after several tries, he still hadn’t managed to put the earrings on Violet, and the platinum hook pricked her a few times.
Listening to Violet’s inadvertent gasps of "ouch," Daxton got even more nervous, his hands visibly trembling.
Joseph tilted his head, staring intently at Violet’s ear. The little hole was so clear, yet big brother kept missing it. Anxious, he snatched the earrings, "I’ll help sister-in-law put them on."
Daxton stepped back slightly, watching his brother focusedly help his wife put on the earrings, his slightly narrowed phoenix eyes turning dreamy.
