Chapter 1173 - 1174: Not Here for Him
"Counselor Zimmerman?"
Miles Morgan looked at Ivy Preston quizzically.
Mrs. Monroe and Anna were there unexpectedly; he rushed over after receiving a call from the servant and hadn’t called a lawyer over.
Moreover, he didn’t think Mrs. Monroe would divorce him to the point of inviting a lawyer to their home.
"I didn’t call him," Ivy Preston shook her head.
She was eager for Miles Morgan to divorce and marry her, but she wouldn’t directly intervene in this matter.
"So who did?"
Miles Morgan frowned, looking at Mrs. Monroe and Anna.
If it wasn’t him who called, then Mrs. Monroe and Anna must have invited him!
"Please let Counselor Zimmerman in."
Anna spoke up. Just a second ago, Miles said no lawyer from Solaria would help her mother with the case, and in the next moment, the lawyer had arrived.
Carter Lockwood had said he arranged a formidable figure to help, and Counselor Zimmerman was the one he mentioned.
Knowing that it was Carter Lockwood who brought him, Anna straightened up her back and defiantly looked at Miles Morgan and Ivy Preston.
"I wonder which lawyer is bold enough to offend Mr. Monroe!"
Anna couldn’t help but feel pleased, speaking with mockery.
Miles’s face turned grim; it was surely some small-time lawyer foolishly helping them.
Ivy Preston turned her head to the door, curious to see what kind of lawyer had come!
Mrs. Monroe and Anna thought getting a lawyer was impressive, but once here, Mr. Monroe might threaten him, and the lawyer could run away.
Mrs. Monroe was confused, feeling uneasy.
"Anna."
Anna smiled at Mrs. Monroe and assured her, "Mom, don’t worry."
With Carter Lockwood handling things, she felt the most assured.
Others might fear Miles, but her husband certainly did not.
Under everyone’s anticipation, the lawyer named Zimmerman arrived.
Seeing Counselor Zimmerman dressed in a suit, Miles’s expression changed; it was him!
"Counselor Zimmerman!"
He stood up first, approached the lawyer, and greeted him proactively, "I’m Miles Morgan."
He deliberately emphasized his name, letting Counselor Zimmerman know whom he should assist.
Ivy Preston, not knowing this lawyer, showed no reaction but surmised his significance, seeing Miles greet him actively.
"I visited your firm before, and your assistant said you were busy. Today, you’ve come to The Morgan Family; let’s have a meal here."
Miles smiled and said.
He never imagined that the lawyer coming to The Monroe Residence would be him!
"Miles,"
Ivy followed and asked, "Who is this Counselor Zimmerman..."
Miles introduced her to him, "Counselor Zimmerman, owner of the largest law firm in Solaria and the number one in the legal field!"
"There hasn’t been a case he can’t win."
He has fought a hundred cases, never losing one.
The terrifying part isn’t just that, but his background and family connections.
Otherwise, why would Miles’s expression change upon seeing him and also proactively greet him?
Ivy was momentarily stunned, not expecting such a formidable lawyer to come to The Morgan Family!
"Hello, Counselor Zimmerman,"
She smiled, extending her pale hand toward the lawyer.
"With your help, we’re very relieved for Miles’s case."
This formidable Counselor Zimmerman, regardless of whom he’s here for, they had to win him over to help Miles.
"Very few earn Mr. Monroe’s favor!"
Responding to Miles and Ivy’s goodwill, Counselor Zimmerman glanced casually, "Sorry, I’m here to see someone."
Having said that, he bypassed their smiling faces and went straight to Mrs. Monroe and Anna.
"Mrs. Monroe,"
He greeted politely, "Apologies for being late due to traffic."
