Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure

Chapter 1167 - 1168: Double Payback

Anna is so arrogant just because she still treats herself as the eldest miss of The Morgan Family.

That’s what Ivy Preston thought; she had no idea Anna had already switched to hugging a new thigh. With Carter Lockwood backing her, even if she flipped The Monroe Residence upside down, nothing would happen to her.

"What I’ll do is none of your damn business!" Anna snapped back in irritation, raising her hand and flexing it after beating someone till she was tired.

Ivy thought Anna was about to hit her and kept retreating backward.

But she and Riley Preston had already backed into a corner against the wall, with nowhere left to go.

Seeing the servants on the floor and standing around, too scared to intervene, Ivy felt so wronged and frightened that tears rolled down even as she forced a smile.

"My brother Miles and I truly love each other. No matter how you make a scene, it’s useless!"

"Mrs. Monroe, Anna Morgan, you can’t break me and Miles up."

These declarations, one after another, made even Anna feel like she was playing the part of some vicious woman.

She was using every trick she had to tear apart a pair of deeply-in-love mandarin ducks!

"Anna, stop it!"

An angry voice came from the main entrance; Mrs. Monroe and the others turned their heads and saw Miles Morgan rushing back.

Striding in, Miles shot Mrs. Monroe a cold glance, his eyes anxiously fixed on Ivy Preston, who looked so wronged and aggrieved.

The whole Morgan Family was a mess. He saw the servants climbing up from the floor, then saw Anna standing in front of Ivy with her hand raised high, and Ivy’s face streaked with two lines of tears.

All of this together sent Miles’s fury soaring to the extreme.

"Miles."

Ivy stood there, crying as she called out to him.

Riley Preston stepped out from the side and went to stand beside Miles. "Brother-in-law, you finally came back."

"Anna is too vicious. She laid hands on my sister."

Anna hadn’t actually hit Ivy yet, but from what Riley said, it sounded like she already had.

"Anna Morgan!"

Miles roared in anger. He walked up to Anna, lifted his hand, and swung it toward her face.

He was hitting her without even bothering to distinguish right from wrong, never once thinking to listen to Anna’s explanation.

Besides, Anna didn’t have much she could explain.

She had indeed hit Riley Preston earlier and had genuinely wanted to lay hands on Ivy.

A sharp "smack" rang out.

Under Riley and Ivy’s eager gaze, they saw Miles ruthlessly slap at Anna—but just as the slap was about to land, Mrs. Monroe darted forward and took the blow for Anna.

"Mom!" Anna was stunned; she wanted to hit back.

Enduring the pain, Mrs. Monroe grabbed Anna’s hand. "Anna, he’s your father." As a child, you can’t hit your parents; that’s basic filial piety.

If Anna hit Miles today and word got out, no matter the reason, it would still be Anna’s fault.

Mrs. Monroe had to consider Anna’s reputation.

Miles hadn’t expected Mrs. Monroe to take that slap for Anna. He froze for a moment, then said coldly, "Look at the kind of daughter you’ve raised!"

Anna glared icily at Miles, who was standing up for the Preston sisters, and took a deep breath.

"Miles."

Seeing Miles stick up for her, Ivy felt delighted even though the slap had landed on Mrs. Monroe’s face; it still lifted her mood. She pressed her lips together and let out a faintly contemptuous smile.

As she happily walked past Anna, Anna turned around and raised her hand, swinging it straight across Ivy’s face.

A loud "smack" sounded; that slap left Miles stunned, and even Ivy, who had been hit, was dazed.

Anna had hit her, and she’d done it right in front of Miles.

Another sharp "smack"; while Ivy was still in shock, Anna slapped her again.

After two slaps in a row, everyone finally reacted.

"Sis!" Riley was the first to snap out of it. She rushed forward to shield Ivy and shouted at Anna, "Anna Morgan, what kind of crazy fit are you throwing now?!"
