Ethan couldn’t feel happy about his wife being embraced by another man, even if the man was his father-in-law.

"Take a seat, everyone."

Simon Sterling spoke first. He came for two matters, one being about Serena Sullivan and Ethan Grant.

With the elder members of The Grant Family present, he wanted to see how they treated his daughter.

Ethan walked over to sit with Serena.

Serena looked at Ethan, somewhat perplexed, and asked, "Why did you bring her in?"

This "her" naturally referred to Zoe Quinn.

Serena had no objections to Ethan bringing in The Dowager Grant, but Zoe was another matter.

"Oh, she’s here for Mr. Sterling."

Watching Zoe stare intently at Simon Sterling, Ethan smiled with a hint of amusement.

"Hmm?"

Mr. Sterling?

She came for her dad?

No matter how Serena listened to Ethan’s words, they sounded strange!

Did her dad know Zoe?

"Ethan."

The Dowager Grant spoke, glancing at Simon Sterling.

For some reason, looking at this handsome man made her uneasy.

"I know Serena’s health is hard to treat, but The Grant Family can’t end here."

After speaking, The Dowager Grant inexplicably lowered her head in guilt.

Compared to previous firmness, for some unknown reason, she was embarrassed to continue.

"What do you plan to do, The Grant Family?"

Simon asked.

"Find a young and beautiful woman to give Ethan a son?"

This was what The Dowager Grant intended to say.

She had already chosen the person, with help from Zoe.

"Impossible!"

Ethan, driven by a strong desire for survival, spoke immediately, only to be met with a cold glare from Simon.

"My loyalty to Serena is unwavering until death."

Ethan declared firmly.

"I didn’t intend to separate you two." The Dowager Grant said softly. Previously, spurred by Renee Grant, she resolutely objected to Ethan and Serena’s relationship.

Now, Mr. Grant wasn’t involved.

Renee also advised her to leave it alone.

She was entirely thinking of The Grant Family’s ancestors.

"However, there must be a child."

The Dowager Grant spoke loudly, "Without a child, what would happen to The Grant Family?"

"Indeed, The Grant Family’s vast estate needs an heir. How could it work without a child!"

Simon stated coldly.

Listening to The Dowager Grant’s words infuriated Simon.

If Serena couldn’t conceive, who’s to blame? The Grant Family is at fault.

"Mr. Sterling speaks wisely."

Zoe suddenly chimed in. Hearing Simon’s stance from The Grant Family’s perspective, she couldn’t help but feel pleased.

Though unsure of Mr. Sterling and Serena’s relationship or his thoughts, he seemed to support The Dowager.

"Such a large corporation like The Grant Family needs an heir."

"Nowadays, it doesn’t matter if it’s a boy or a girl; either is fine."

Zoe continued, looking at The Dowager Grant, "The young lady chosen by Great-grandma is a university student. She’s still studying, and her background is absolutely clean."

This statement exposed her intentions.

Clearly, the young woman mentioned by The Dowager Grant was chosen by Zoe.

"Absolutely not!"

Serena refused flatly. She glanced at Zoe, finding it peculiar to see her at Willow Yarrow’s door.

Accompanying The Dowager for this errand of finding a woman for Ethan, was Zoe doing this just to upset her?

Or did she have another agenda?

"There’s another way."

The second option, The Dowager Grant, recalling Zoe’s abrupt departure, was reluctant to mention.
