The assistant was baffled about how Carter Lockwood managed to win over Anna Morgan, wondering if the usually cold and aloof Mr. Lockwood had suddenly connected the dots, confessed directly, and moved Anna.
Watching the interaction between the two of them in the back seat again, hearing Carter say "miss," shocked the assistant.

Anna said, holding Carter tight.
