Chapter 914: I Missed You
Later, when they met again, when she wanted to date someone, she really was holding a "just for fun" mindset.
As Young Master Chambers, she’d never thought about getting married, but having a relationship, finding a man, that was fine.
It’s just that once she started, she knew her heart had been moved—otherwise why him and not any other man, why Julian Ford?
"Weren’t you the same?" Finn Chandler shot back. "Wasn’t it because you thought I was pretty that you went along with it?"
When she threw herself at him back then, Julian Ford didn’t refuse.
It really was because she was good-looking.
At her words, Julian Ford actually laughed out loud.
"Yeah, you’re pretty, and your temper’s about the same as a wildcat!"
When he saw her in men’s clothes, playing Young Master Chambers, she was cool and aloof, and downright "brutal."
Once she changed into a beautiful dress, with all that seductive charm, she could practically kill him.
"After that time, I really did look for you, wanted to take responsibility,"
Julian Ford added.
He’d been serious about this relationship, while Finn Chandler hid who she really was from him—how could he not be angry!
"I was serious too."
Finn Chandler lifted her head to look at Julian Ford and said.
"Alright!"
Julian Ford seemed to latch onto that sentence; he reached out and grabbed her hand.
"Remember what you said today."
"That you’re serious about me!"
"Whether you’re Finn Chandler or Chloe Finch, there’s nothing that’s going to change for me!"
"Huh?"
As they talked, Finn Chandler heard something in his words.
"So you’re not mad at me anymore?"
This conflict had been resolved way too fast; she’d just arrived in Solaria and hadn’t even really started to act cute or coax him yet!
"Julian Ford, since when did you stop being mad at me and figure things out?"
"There’s nothing worth staying mad about!"
Julian Ford answered softly, "At the beginning, I was furious! So mad my heart hurt! My liver hurt!"
"The person I wanted to marry turned out to be a man in other people’s eyes, and she might have been planning to use my seed to have my child and then just toss me aside."
"That’s not it."
Finn Chandler hurried to explain.
Mrs. Chambers and Pearl Chambers might have had that idea, but she would never do that.
If she was going to date a man, it had to be someone she liked.
If she fell in love, then she’d marry him; the identity of Young Master Chambers just wasn’t that important.
"I spent the whole night thinking and finally got it," Julian Ford sighed, sounding a bit helpless. "You ran over here to make me forgive you, and before you said more than a couple of sentences, you were already giving me attitude, using the baby to threaten me!"
As he said this, Julian Ford’s gaze dropped to Finn Chandler’s lower abdomen, and his tone cooled.
At the time, he’d been planning to go back to Solaria before saying anything.
"Finn Chandler, if you weren’t the one I wanted to marry, if I didn’t love you this much, even if the child in your belly was born, I still wouldn’t want it."
Julian Ford hated being threatened, and he hated being controlled even more!
Finn Chandler froze, finally understanding why Julian Ford had been so cold to her all this time.
"I was scared you wouldn’t want me!"
"If I really didn’t want you, nothing you did would matter!"
Julian Ford reached out and pulled Finn Chandler into his arms. "Finn Chandler, I don’t like being lied to, and I like being forced even less."
"After all this time thinking, I’ve calmed down and figured out what I want!"
Listening to him, Finn Chandler tensed up; she was so anxious and insecure, terrified that Julian Ford would stop wanting her.
"What do you want?"
She lifted her head to look at Julian Ford.
Julian Ford gave her a smile. "What do you think?"
"We’ve already got the marriage certificate, and we’ve got a baby on the way—what else could I possibly not want?"
"Besides, when you weren’t by my side, I felt lonely!" Julian Ford lowered his head, gazing at Finn Chandler in his arms; his voice, like his smile, turned incredibly gentle. "I missed you."
