Pearl Chambers didn’t feel these words were entirely contradictory.
If Finn Chandler really wanted Julian Ford to father a child, why would she reveal her true identity to him, and why let everyone know she’s not Young Master Chambers?
Julian Ford simply wouldn’t believe Pearl Chambers’ words.

Julian Ford couldn’t bear to listen any longer; he was truly annoyed.

Pearl Chambers softened her voice, looking at Julian Ford with eyes that conveyed a chill, adding, "I just don’t want you to be deceived by Finn Chandler."
Julian Ford was too lazy to explain his matters with Finn to her.
