Chapter 970: Just Want Money
Fiona Ford nodded through her tears, which truly fell from the pain in her heart. After all these years in the Ford Family, Julian Ford was planning to kick her out for an outsider.
"Fiona."
Mrs. Ford stood up and spoke to Fiona with rare gentleness.
Fiona looked at her with delight, thinking Mrs. Ford would speak up for her.
"Rest assured, I will definitely make sure you leave the Ford Family."
Under Fiona’s shocked and hurt gaze, Mrs. Ford turned away with a cold sneer.
Fiona’s tricks might fool Mr. Ford, but they couldn’t escape the eyes of Mrs. Ford and Julian.
Once Finn Chandler entered and Fiona left the Ford Family, only then could there be peace.
"Dad!"
After Mrs. Ford left, the only ones remaining in the living room were Mr. Ford and Fiona.
With both Julian and Mrs. Ford asking to get rid of her, how could Fiona not feel panicked?
"I don’t want to leave the Ford Family, I don’t want to leave you."
Mr. Ford nodded, "Don’t worry, Dad won’t let you leave."
He had raised such a big daughter; although not his own by birth, because of Fiona’s mother, he always treated her as his own.
Even if Mrs. Ford and Julian were in charge, he would stand against them for Fiona’s sake.
Finn Chandler walked toward the Ford Family’s main gate, which was indeed too large. Usually, cars came and went, and when walking, it felt like it would take forever to reach the entrance.
Hearing footsteps outside and the calls of "Finn," Finn simply stopped in her tracks.
She couldn’t stand the conversation between Mr. Chambers and the Ford Family, and she also wanted to find an opportunity to talk to Mr. Chambers alone.
"Finn."
Leaving his little lover in place, Mr. Chambers caught up with Finn.
"I haven’t even received my money yet, why are you in such a hurry to leave!"
"Indeed, daughters always side with outsiders!"
Hearing Mr. Chambers’ reproach, Finn sneered coldly, "Mr. Chambers, are you that short on cash?"
So short that as soon as he heard she was marrying Julian, he came running for money.
"I am!"
Mr. Chambers stated directly, "Old Master Chambers cut off my financial resources."
As a Mr. Chambers of the family, he absolutely was a lazy and good-for-nothing wastrel.
He didn’t understand The Chambers Corporation’s affairs and relied on his daughter.
Old Master Chambers knew he was incompetent and spent money recklessly, so he never gave him shares of The Chambers Corporation, only sending him money each month.
A few years ago, when Finn made a lot of money for The Chambers Corporation, Old Master Chambers was delighted and sent Mr. Chambers a large sum each month.
That money was enough for Mr. Chambers to keep a woman on the side.
But, recently, things went downhill.
Old Master Chambers, furious upon discovering Finn was a daughter, directly called Mr. Chambers saying he would no longer support his living expenses.
Mr. Chambers was a spendthrift, without any savings.
He thought about selling The Chambers Residence, but the house belonged to Old Master Chambers.
He did sell the car, exchanged it for some money.
Yet, he met his true love and wanted to get married, but the woman required a house and car before agreeing to marry him, which is why he set his sights on Finn.
"How could you not be a son?"
If Finn were Young Master Chambers, Old Master Chambers would definitely have given The Chambers Corporation to Finn.
That way, the son could earn big money, and the father could relax and spend it at home.
"Why let your identity be revealed? Remaining as Young Master Chambers would have been fine."
Suddenly, the son turned into a daughter; Mr. Chambers could accept that, but what he couldn’t accept was living without money.
"Well, man or woman, it doesn’t matter, as long as the Ford Family sends me the dowry."
