Chapter 920: Longing for Completeness
Ethan Grant must need a son! Even a daughter would be fine right now.
"But I want one."
Also, Serena Sullivan wants one—a child that belongs to her and Ethan Grant.
Her light words made Ethan Grant feel particularly troubled in his heart, and he reached over to pull Serena into his arms, "Serena, it’s all my fault."
If it weren’t for him breaking up with Serena, if he hadn’t gotten angry, how could their child not exist! "Blaming someone is useless."
"I consulted Mo Da. My body might not succeed with in vitro fertilization."
"No way!"
As soon as Serena finished speaking, Ethan Grant denied it loudly.
Undergoing in vitro fertilization is already painful for a woman, and Serena’s body is different from others.
She might have to lie in bed for seven or eight months for the child, and keep getting pregnancy protection injections, not to mention the other hardships she’d face as her belly grows.
So, regarding this matter, Ethan Grant has never relented.
He doesn’t want to agree.
"I want to try."
Serena looked at Ethan Grant and responded, "Not guaranteed to succeed means there’s still a chance."
"If the first attempt doesn’t work, then we try a second, a third time; eventually, it will happen."
"Serena!"
Ethan Grant called out helplessly, sensing the determination in Serena’s tone.
This matter must have been on Serena’s mind for a long, long time.
"Ethan, it’s not just for you."
"I also want a child."
"Seeing Finn Chandler pregnant made me want it very much."
Now, every time she meets Finn, she can’t help but look at Finn’s belly, thinking about the day she too could have her own child like Finn.
"Serena!"
"We don’t need children, it can just be us forever."
"But it wouldn’t be complete."
Serena looked at Ethan Grant in the dimness, her voice growing softer, "And besides, I’m scared."
"I don’t want to let you and The Grant Family down."
A child isn’t necessary, but given the chance, she still wants to try.
"How about this—let me try once. If I find it too painful or unbearable this time, then we’ll forget about the next time." Ethan Grant didn’t answer; he was hesitant to let Serena suffer.
Four years ago, Serena had already endured so much hardship. After four years, he absolutely couldn’t let her suffer again.
But regardless of Ethan Grant’s consent, Serena was determined to accomplish what she wanted.
She acted quickly, taking Ethan Grant to the hospital for a checkup just three days after returning to Solaria.
Ethan Grant looked at her enthusiastic and happy demeanor and eventually had to agree.
He wasn’t sure if he was right in supporting Serena!
If they truly can’t have a child of their own, he wouldn’t mind adopting one! For now, this was the way!
Moreover, Serena kept Ethan Grant from telling The Sterling Family about her plan for in vitro fertilization.
Knowing Simon Sterling, if he found out she’s suffering again because of Ethan Grant, he’d probably come over and give Ethan a beating.
However, Simon Sterling couldn’t come for now.
Claire Sullivan came back; she didn’t stay with Serena at Willow Yarrow, wanting instead to return to The Sullivan Residence.
Arriving in Solaria, Serena certainly wouldn’t feel comfortable letting Claire live alone, so she reminded Claire to be cautious of two people.
Felix Lockwood was one.
Although Mrs. Kane’s incident happened not long ago, Felix Lockwood went to the Imperial Capital to deal with the affair; soon he might bring Mrs. Kane back.
The other person was Zoe Quinn. Married to Sean Lockwood, Zoe Quinn wasn’t living happily! She didn’t get what she wanted, and instead, Sean was driven out of The Lockwood Family.
Knowing that Serena and Claire are back, there’s no way Zoe wouldn’t do something!
