Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure

Chapter 1169 - 1170: Such an Obedient Girl

After staying upstairs for a while, Miles Morgan prepared to go downstairs to talk to Mrs. Monroe and Anna Morgan.

"Miles!"

Ivy Preston called out to Miles, speaking in a gentle tone.

Miles turned his head and immediately saw Ivy’s flushed cheeks.

A servant came up with ice for Ivy to apply to her face, and Ivy theatrically applied it briefly.

She wished to keep the red marks on her face longer to make Miles pity her and despise Mrs. Monroe and her daughter.

"Is it inappropriate for me to stay here?"

"I want to move out with Yara."

Ivy spoke softly.

"Oh?" Miles replied slowly, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.

"It’s my fault that your relationship with Mrs. Monroe became like this."

"No matter what, you and she have been married for so many years, and you have Eldest Master Monroe and Anna Morgan; it’s better not to divorce."

Ivy’s words aligned with Miles’ thoughts. At the Morgan Family gathering, Mrs. Monroe proposed divorce, which was a massive blow to him. However, Mr. Monroe still hoped for harmony within the Morgan Family.

Such harmony meant Mrs. Monroe should compromise and accept Ivy into the family.

In name, Ivy could be considered Mrs. Monroe’s adopted sister,

but in reality, she would be his concubine.

Unfortunately, the plan Miles had in mind was not agreed to by Mrs. Monroe, nor was Ivy willing.

Ivy was clever. When she was slapped, Miles didn’t defend her against Anna Morgan, indicating he still didn’t want a divorce from Mrs. Monroe.

Given this, she might as well say something pleasant, so that Miles would know which woman listens to him.

"Ivy." Miles’ tone became gentler. He beckoned, and Ivy obediently walked up to him.

"Miles, don’t get a divorce."

Ivy raised her head, looking at Miles, advising him.

Zachary Morgan had invited her to the Morgan Family for dinner, where she met Miles.

It was love at first sight, and she adored Miles.

Agreeing to have dinner at the Morgan Family was primarily for Miles.

At their third meeting, she went for an interview at The Morgan Corporation. Coincidentally, she met Miles, and he recognized her from having dinner at the Morgan Family with Zachary.

Afterward, she successfully worked at The Morgan Corporation, frequently creating opportunities to meet Miles, deliberately showing her capabilities in front of him and displaying considerable confidence.

Mrs. Monroe was a gentle and virtuous woman.

Miles wasn’t very interested in submissive girls.

Sure enough, Miles fell in love with her and treated her very specially.

"Ivy." Miles also looked at Ivy, "You’re so obedient, what can I say?"

"However, the matter of divorce is probably..."

Miles didn’t want a divorce; if he divorced, he wouldn’t lose much financially, but it would damage his reputation.

Additionally, there was no fault in Mrs. Monroe after all these years of marriage.

Anna Morgan and Zachary Morgan were children he had cherished for many years.

"I am the epitome of a perfect Morgan Family."

Ivy echoed Miles’ thoughts, adding a sentence.

This was what Miles thought. He never planned to disregard Mrs. Monroe, Anna Morgan, or Zachary.

He was Mr. Monroe, full of authority and power, so having another woman, why not!

"Hmm," Miles responded, as Ivy’s words reminded him of the attitudes of Mrs. Monroe and Anna Morgan, arousing feelings of both annoyance and hatred towards them.

After Miles went downstairs, Ivy didn’t follow.

Riley Preston came to her door, asking in confusion, "Sister, aren’t we going downstairs to watch?"

"Why go?"

Ivy sneered, "To get hit?"

"But, what if brother-in-law refuses to divorce Mrs. Monroe?"

Riley asked worriedly.

"There’s nothing we can do if he refuses."

Ivy said softly, pulling Riley’s hand, "Yara, after the Morgan Family’s issues are over, sister will help you pursue that man you like."
