Chapter 998 - 997: Both a Son and a Daughter
Thinking it was a fear of love, but in truth, with that one person, no one else seemed lovable.
If that’s the case, it’s better to be with this man whom she deeply loves, and let go of the past.
"From now on, your father and I will always be by your side."
Claire Sullivan pulled Serena Sullivan into her arms. She owed this daughter too much, and the current efforts to make up for it were just a drop in the bucket.
In the future, there will be much more to give.
"Okay!"
Serena Sullivan nodded with tears in her eyes. Suddenly she remembered something and emerged from Claire’s embrace, "Yes, I must call my brother."
She stood up, looking at Claire and Simon Sterling, "I can tell my brother, right?"
"Of course you can."
Simon Sterling replied with a smile.
He looked at Claire Sullivan beside him, then at the smiling Serena Sullivan, feeling content in his heart, except for watching a certain person with Serena.
"Ethan Grant, you’ve registered your marriage with Serena."
Ethan Grant, suddenly called out, became aware and replied with a smile, "Yes."
"You probably did it at the same time as her parents."
Having registered his marriage, Ethan Grant couldn’t help but straighten his back.
He now was Serena Sullivan’s rightful husband, untouchable even by the father-in-law.
"Oh." Simon Sterling didn’t scold Ethan Grant; instead, he looked at him and earnestly instructed, "Then from now on, please take good care of Serena."
"Don’t let her suffer anymore."
Ethan Grant was taken aback, not expecting the father-in-law’s attitude to change so quickly. He solemnly replied, "Dad, I will."
After speaking, Ethan Grant turned to the joyously calling Wyatt Sterling, then added another sentence, "I will, I’ll take good care of Serena!"
Today was truly a joyful and happy day.
Serena Sullivan was clearly in great spirits, not only because she registered with Ethan Grant, but also because she now had a complete family.
After dinner as a family, Simon Sterling and Claire Sullivan returned to The Sterling Residence.
The night Simon arrived in Solaria, he left Willow Yarrow and went straight to The Sullivan Residence.
After they left, Serena Sullivan asked Ethan Grant to fill her glass with wine.
While Simon Sterling and Claire Sullivan were around, they watched her, unable to give her a drink.
Once the two had gone, Ethan Grant listened to her requests without stopping her.
Just like that, with Ethan Grant’s indulgence, Serena Sullivan got drunk.
She lifted her head and looked at Ethan Grant’s eyes, which were solely focused on her, unable to control her tears.
Over the years, she had endured many hardships.
Numerous times she couldn’t hold on, going back and forth with Yama, and making it to now, achieving happiness and a complete family, but how could that pain vanish with time, nor could it be entirely forgotten with the present happiness!
"Serena!"
Ethan Grant looked at Serena Sullivan suffering, his heart equally in intense pain.
"No crying now!"
"From now on, I’ll follow whatever you say."
"Whatever you say goes!"
"Really?"
Taking advantage of being drunk, Serena Sullivan asked Ethan Grant.
"I don’t want kids, is that okay?"
She tearily looked at him, the pain in her eyes making Ethan Grant not even pause.
"I never wanted kids!"
Children were a wound between them, Ethan Grant wanted them, but couldn’t bear to let Serena Sullivan endure more pain.
"Haha!"
Serena Sullivan laughed as her drunkenness faded a little, "I was lying to you."
"I want children, must have at least one."
"Ethan Grant, I want both a son and a daughter!"
As she spoke, tears rolled down one by one.
Her latter "want" was false.
