Chapter 505: A Woman With Ulterior Motives
The agent carefully dodged the teacup, and her well-meaning suggestion was immediately rejected.
"What’s the point of going to the auction? You know how tight my finances are right now."
Fiona Vaughn’s face looked quite grim. She thought about the affair she had with Chloe’s uncle that had been exposed, and that heartless man Tyson had been staying out late recently. Not only was he not sharing the room with her, but he had also frozen several of The Law Group credit cards that had been under her name!
Although she was a popular starlet, she had always been an extravagant spender. Plus, Tyson had given her several unlimited credit cards, which she frequently maxed out at various stores.
Now, during this cold war with Tyson, and being pregnant, she was having a hard time financially. She had to borrow high-end designer clothes for events, something she wouldn’t have put up with before; she used to wear only the latest styles, but now she often wore past-season items, and even the jewelry was borrowed.
After all, celebrities are not like ordinary people; they need to have a good-looking outfit, and if they wore the same styling repeatedly, they would only be ridiculed.

Seeing Fiona’s foul mood, the agent wiped his sweat again and cautiously suggested.
"Fiona, going to the auction may cost a lot, but we’re not so desperate that we can’t come up with a few million. Fiona was taken aback.
"Is he really influential? What’s the benefit of connecting with him?!"
The agent sincerely patted Fiona’s shoulder.
"Of course, he’s influential! If you can win over Mr. Adams, during Stellerton University’s anniversary, he will certainly view you more favorably. I learned he’s here to select a Vesperia-China tourism goodwill ambassador; if you’re chosen, think of the buzz and attention, not to mention the prestige of being a national ambassador!"

"I understand what you mean now. I remember Old Master Law mentioning this; if I can indeed be chosen as the Vesperia-China tourism goodwill ambassador, it would really help me secure some high-end collaborations..."
"More than that! At the time of the exchange between the two countries, everyone you meet will at least be a regional leader. Such political resources are something ordinary people can’t even dream of!"
The benefits of having backing were something Fiona fully understood even without the agent’s reminders.
