Herta basically repeated the questions she asked Emiya, which were all complicated for me to understand; it makes me doubt if we’re speaking the same language, anyone.

Some terminology that I understood by words, but at the same time, I couldn’t comprehend.

’Girl, are you sure we speak the same language?’ I thought to myself.

They, in fact, did not; it’s only thanks to the shop’s passive ability of being able to communicate with anyone regardless of their native language as long as they set foot in this place.

Because her questions are frankly more complicated than the most complex mathematical problem back home.

Although I have no idea how to answer them, fortunately I have a ’cheat ’, and that is [ Path To Victory ], and so I made a path to answer her questions and to my surprise.

The answer I received was ’Error’ and ’404’ flooded the entire pathway, meaning it couldn’t answer her questions at all because it’s something that couldn’t be pathed, therefore a blindspot.

Ever since I obtained this power, this was the first time this ever happened, no- actually, I tried pathing D earlier, which also resulted in a blindspot, but this and that were quite different because Herta merely asked questions.

Unlike D, whose existence is pretty much incomprehensible.

Meaning, her questions were basically more difficult than ascending to becoming a true magician.

(A/N: Technically true, but here’s the truth the only reason why he became one is because of reason 1 D herself, 2 the Root avatar willingly gave him a root access, even with D’s favor, if the root themselves doesn’t allow it, then it’s meaningless, without those two, his path to victory means nothing, that other paths the leads to becoming a magician with hundreds of steps is basically a trap, only asking D at that time was the correct answer.)

Still, despite not knowing the answer. I still managed to keep my composure calm, at least on the surface, but inside I was panicking,as this was the first time since I obtained the shop that I encountered this type of situation that I didn’t have any answer for.

Logically speaking, her questions should be something I could answer as the owner of this place.

But it ain’t logical!

Because I absolutely have no idea how things work in my own shop, which itself is embarrassing.

Then I quickly asked my trusty A. I (which I admittedly forgot its existence), given by capital G.O.D.

And to my disappointment, it replied.

[ I’m afraid I don’t have the answer either; only GOD himself knows how this place is made. ]

I let out a sigh in my head, but didn’t show any outside and could only look at Herta with a considering look like I’m contemplating whether to answer her or not.

If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s managing my expression down to the microscopic level.

After all, it is essential for a magus of my family to at least know how to control our facial expression, because showing an obvious emotion is bad for politics.

It’s a muscle memory at this point, if I’m in a scenario where I absolutely must show no weakness.

Upon seeing the expression on my face, she suddenly overthought, which was a good thing.

"You’re not answering it for free, fine then perhaps I could produce something of a similar value, name your price," Herta stated.

This made me internally cheer, because her question itself made me the one at the advantage; I could make any excuse, and she can’t do anything about it.

"I don’t think you have anything of equal value that could make me tell you the secrets of this place." Although it’s merely an excuse to bluff her that I absolutely have no idea how the shop works.

It doesn’t mean that it isn’t true, because if she has something of equal value, then what was the point of her being invited here?

The shop itself is a paradox; while it is my origin, at the same time it’s also a creation of an absolute omnipotent being.

Because anything of equal value means that it’s something only a GOD could have.

Herta didn’t look happy to hear that, but at the same time she understands that I don’t intend to sell the knowledge of how the shop works.

While she’s arrogant, she wasn’t stupid.

Herta huffed and said, "Fine; however, I won’t be giving up anytime soon. I’ll create something that has an equal value soon enough."

How confident of her, but I can’t really find any flaws in the way she said it. Mostly because of how charismatic she is.

Even I, for a second, believed that she could achieve success.

But that was it, and I quickly thought to myself that it’s an impossible goal.

"I sincerely wish for your success, Ms. Herta." I was genuine when I said this.

A small, confident smile appeared on her beautiful face. "Naturally."

I couldn’t help but think how pretty she is; this woman might be arrogant and narcissistic to the core, but I don’t dislike her type.

Gilgamesh is a prime example of that; she might be arrogant beyond belief; however, she backs it up with her natural charisma and competency to boot, making me unable to truly dislike her.

If it’s just arrogance, then that’s different.

Because you only have the capital to be arrogant if you have the power or skill to back it up, or else you’d be labeled as foolish.

"So, this place is a shop that sells anything?" Herta’s eyes lit up in pure interest upon hearing that this place could get anything she wanted for a price.

Most people would doubt that bold claim, but she wasn’t most people; she immediately believed my claim.

After all, from what little she knew about me, she could tell I wasn’t a fool, and as the owner of this establishment, what’s the point of lying to her anyway?

Besides, if I really intended to lie, I wouldn’t lie about something as ridiculous as this, because it would be completely exposed so fast the second I couldn’t provide the things she wanted, and only to humiliate myself.

Which means what I claimed is true: that this shop truly sells everything at the right price.

Herta immediately forgot about acquiring the knowledge of how the shop works and was eager to shop and buy something that she always wanted but couldn’t due to the lack of opportunity to observe them.

"I want to buy an Aeon; do you have it here?" The eagerness in her voice couldn’t be suppressed, because if there was an Aeon that could be truly bought in this place, then the ultimate question would finally be answered by hers truly, of how Aeons came to be and how they were created.

Hearing her words, I had no idea what the hell is and what an Aeon was, but I’m sure that it exists here in the shop

Then I showed her the shop panel and replied. "See it for yourself."

Herta quickly used the shop panel until the majority of the customers in this shop; she came from a true interstellar civilization, and the digital screen wasn’t a stranger to her.

Then she quickly found what she wanted, and her breathing got heavy, as the sheer amount of selection she’d never thought possible was in front of her.

If she didn’t know herself, she would have thought she was dreaming, but she knew inside and outside that this wasn’t a dream or a hallucination.

This is true; that’s why she couldn’t contain her excitement. She never thought she’d feel this intense emotion again; the last time was a long time ago, back when she was a young prodigy.

The selection consisted of making an Aeon her pet, servant or even partner; the cost in between was staggering.

The cheapest was at least tens of millions of M.C, which she had no concept of, as this wasn’t a currency she was familiar with.

But at the same time, it was achievable as long as she had enough funds!

Not only that, but she could also directly buy a tied concept or a core to make herself ascend to the ranks of Aeons.

A stray thought appeared in her mind. ’Oh, Ruan Mei, if you were here in my place, I wonder if you could still keep your indifference?’

Herta could already imagine the look of shock on her peer’s face.

Just imagining her losing composure makes her smile.

Omake - Actually Satan meets Australian Painter

Emiya was busy dusting the floor of the shop; it was close time, and he was about to be done and could finally be free from his job for the day.

As he was about to be done, suddenly a knock outside the door echoed through the shop, making him sigh in annoyance.

"The shop’s closed; come back tomorrow."

Then, without a warning, the door opened. A man with a gentle smile, along with his iconic mustache, said with an amused smile. "Even for an old friend?"

Seeing this familiar person, Emiya lit up and forgot his cleaning and shouted in joy. "Hitle-"

Gasp!

His eyes opened wide as he was gasping for air; sweat appeared on his forehead, and he was back at a familiar bed, with a familiar woman beside him; they were half naked.

"What the hell was that dream...? No, that was a nightmare." Emiya stared at the ceiling blankly. He had some fucked up dream to begin with, but that was the most bizarre one he had in a while.

He couldn’t sleep again, now that his thoughts were repeating that scenario, while Rin was sleeping heavily beside him.
